*CATHY'S POV *
"Don't worry, I am okay." I said, taking the tray, leaving the kitchen. It was just a light burn, and I didn't want to trouble him. I knocked on the door before entering and placed the tea on the table where Alexander, Liam, and that old man were sitting. I poured the tea into their cups before taking my permission to leave. I went to the kitchen where Rodrigo wasn't there anymore, so I quickly ran cold water on the burn.I waited at my desk for about fifteen minutes when Liam and the old guy came outside. I bowed to them as the old man left, but Liam leaned on the reception desk, smirking at me."You already married him taking half of his assets, but now you are trying to take over here?" He said while taking out his vape from the pocket. I couldn't take his insults anymore. "I-I didn't m-marry Mr. Wayne for money." I said, frowning. He laughed loudly, making my eyes widen. "Do you really think you can be his wife? He hates people who are incomHi guys! Sorry for the late update today. I was busy writing the drafts for this novel. "Come on, Cathy, say my name. I want to hear it." My insides were pounding crazily. I'm sitting on a kitchen shelf half naked with a man who is my boss and wanting to hear his name is making me completely blank. I have said his name when he goes inside me during sex multiple times, but right now, he wants to hear it straight from me. "A-Alexander, p-please s-stop." I hesitated. It's so embarrassing to call a man who is so much older than me by his name that could turn me on. "This is not how you call me. He paused. "Say the name when you can feel me inside you." He said, smirking. His face was closer to mine, and I could feel hi

The employees in my company haven't talked to me at all, but I could listen to them talking about me and Alexander. It's a little embarrassing to be in the same company as my husband, and I know everyone thinks that I am using him for my needs. Liam has been talking a bitter truth to me, and I can't accept that. I know he had spent so much on me and didn't ask for anything in return even though it was an arranged marriage and we didn't love each other. I don't understand Alexander at all. The car was waiting for me already and the driver drove me to the hospital. I went inside, and one of the nurses came to
*CATHY'S POV *Alexander pulled me into a hug and kissed me on the forehead. My eyes were still watery, and I don't know why I was crying this much even though he is here with me. I just wanted him to stay healthy because I can't see him in this state. "Cathy, why are you crying so much? It's alright now, everything is completely fine. Alexandar said in a worried tone. His hands were wrapped around my back, and he slowly rubbed it, making me calm down. I was going through some mental weakness right now as I couldn't think straight or my mind wasn't telling me anything. It was blank. I looked at his wound and then closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. "C-an you tell me w-who did this or w-what happened?" I finally talked something concerning. I grabbed on his t-shirt near his chest where my hands were resting before. He looked at me with an angry look and stopped patting me. "You aren't allowed to ask any questions about tonight from anyone." His deep stern tone ringed through my ear
*CATHY'S POV *I had asked Kelly about Alexander, and she told me he left early in the morning. He just had surgery on his shoulder, but still, he doesn't rest at all. He has so much strength and stamina because he never gets tired. But still he is a human after all and sometimes he must need some relaxation. I told the kitchen maids to make some chicken soup, and I made some honey tea, which is the only thing I was good at. The maids helped me pack the food, and I went with the driver to the company. I wanted to see him as soon as possible and give him the medicines for quick recovery. After all, I am his wife, and I need to do something like he did for me. I got into the elevator and pressed the button. As usual, the floor was empty, and I went straight to his room. I was so excited that I forgot to knock before entering. Alexander was sitting with a middle-aged man and Rodrigo. I didn't expect that he would have guests even before the company opened hours. "Uh-s-sorry to interrup
*CATHY'S POV *The rest of the day, Alexander went out of the company with some guests, and I cleaned his office and the other rooms. I don't have any problem doing this stuff as I have always done this in my own house too. My father always made me do house maid jobs because he told me that I am incapable of going into business as I don't have brains. Thankfully, he gave me permission to continue the university after high school. I continued with my work on the computer, messaged my friends about my new job, and also tried making tea and coffee. I went home with the driver and the bodyguard who were told to pick me up and drop me off anywhere outside the house after that anonymous attack. Alexander came home late as always, and I was waiting for him sitting on the center of the bed reading my book. He came in taking off his black coat and loosening the tie on his neck. He placed the coat on the bed and sat behind me, grabbing my waist with one arm. "Why are you still awake?" He said
*ALEXANDER'S POV *These past two days were really annoying. If Catherine had left early from the hospital, I wouldn't have been able to save her. When I got the news that Cathy was being followed by one of my opponent's men, I was scared for the first time. And last night, when she curled up in my arms sleeping soundly, all my worries were swallowed. This girl had made me go through so many emotions, which I never thought I had in me. And yesterday she taking care of me because of the little fever even though I had continuous meetings in this state without any problem, made me realized that I am starting to fall in love with her all over again. I was tired listening to Harris blabbering about his developments in his area. He would be dead if Catherine hadn't come in my office that day and made me rethink my plan. I thought as he left the room. I sighed, putting my glasses back on and looking through the lists of my next targets. That was when Cathy came
*CATHY'S POV * I woke up with a severe headache. It was hurting so much as I sat up. It was morning as I checked the time on my phone, and I still have 2 hours to get to work. I looked down at my body, and I was only wearing a robe and nothing else, I grabbed the sheets up to my chest, trying to remember what happened last night. I rubbed my face a few times as I tried going through my memories. I was in the kitchen drinking water and then went to Alexander's office, After that... I couldn't remember anything more. "You are finally awake." I looked up and saw Alexander coming out of the bath only wearing his grey trousers. His perfect torso was wet shining in the sunlight coming through the window. He stroded towards me and leaned on the wall near the bed. I could see the tiredness in his eyes, and the underbags showed that he didn't sleep last night at all. "U-um w-what happened last night?" I asked a bit worried. He smirked at me, opening the door, and one of t
*CATHY'S POV *"Sorry, but I have to kill you..." He spatted pulling his gun out and directing it towards my mother. Without wasting any more seconds, he shot her right in the head. The blood splashed on the floor, and it came near me in streams as I saw her lying on the floor in front of me. It was a terrifying image that I could not forget. My father was a killer, a slaughter, a menace. From that fearful moment, I was scared of killing, death, and my father. The closet was dark as I bawled my eyes out, missing the only person on earth who cared and loved me. Those drastic events had haunted me all my life, making itself my trauma that didn't let go. I woke up struggling from the nightmare in our room, which was dark as usual. I was in bed, my yellow dress changed into a night gown, and my hair was damp. The rain was still pouring outside, and I looked up and saw Alexander sitting at the edge of the bed near me. I clenched on the sheets, moving a bit away fr
