Chapter Twenty One

Gavin sat by Fernanda's bed side anxiously waiting for her to wake up, the suspense got to him so much that he began to pace back and forth in the room. She was breathing but he feared that she may have gone into a coma, she had been unconscious for ten hours after the operation.

“All this is because of my foolish ways, why was I such a Casanova. Why didn’t the bullet hit me instead?”, he thought to himself as he stared at her laying there.

A nurse walked in to check on how she was doing and Gavin moved from where he was pacing to where the nurse was standing, he stood a little too close for comfort just so he could see what the nurse doing that it annoyed her,

"Sir, may I do my job?", she asked as she held her hand out to push him away gently, she understood his struggle but he was being too much for her.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I've never seen her like this", he said with so much frustration.
