Chapter 7 : To the party

Karen gaps when he opened the door. She did not expect to confront Logan " Where is Elle he asked? Oh so he has  nicknamed her, She thought. She will be down soon. She is just getting her purse.

" We are already two minutes late. Does she want to spend all night getting rea.... ". Logan is frozen in place whiles looking past her.

Karen turns around and saw Ellen ascending the stairs in all her glory. Now I know why he is frozen in place, she thought.

" Cat's got someone's tongue. Blake whispered laughing.

Shooting eye diggers at Blake, Logan's eyes returned to Ellen.

Ellen packed her stuff in her purse. And left the room. Her eyes fell on Logan whiles descending the stairs. He was already staring at her so hard it made me her nervous. She walked to the door. Hi, She said. Logan just kept staring at her till Karen cleared her throat. He seemed to snap out of whatever he was thinking. Logan took Ellen hand in his. " You look gorgeous, he said making her blush.

You don't look bad yourself, She muttured. She must admit that he looked sexy and handsome in that suit. What are you doing Ellen, you have been forced by this Playboy so you can't think of anything nice, I mentally screamed. Am only in this for Karen. Ellen reminded herself.

" You look beautiful Ellen, Black compliments holding a white rose for me. Thank you Blake it's really beautiful. 

" But not like you. Two roses for two beautiful girls. He winked.

" Okay let's go joker. Logan said stating his annoyance". 

" Unlike you, am a romantic guy, at least I brought something for the girls. Blake mumbled in response.

Logan shot glares at him.

" Okay guys let's go or we will be late. Karen croons ". We all made our way to the car. 

So who's driving Ellen asks? "Blake will ". Logan answered whiles opening the back door for me. Such a gentleman I thought dramatically. He climbed beside me and Blake and Karen sat in the front seat.

The drive was quiet. I finally decided to break the silence.

So what kind of party are we attending. Anything I should know before we get there Logan?

" Yes there will be many paparazzi at the entrance so stay close and keep cool and you will be fine. Oh, and, I almost forgot. 

" My parent and family members will be there ". What! I shouted. Your parents? Ellen asks.

Logan looks at Ellen. " Don't worry, I won't introduce you to them if you don't want to. Ellen nods with relief.

The car becomes silent again. 

Ellen looked outside the mirror again enjoying the fresh air. She turns to catch Logan staring at her. Don't stare, please.

" Why wouldn't I when you look this ravishing. 

I blushed hard. It seems to be my daily routine. He chuckled beside me.

" Calm down Romeo, don't scare Juliet away, The party hasn't even began yet ". Blake cheered.

" Shut up clown! Don't you have any better to do than spy on me. Focus on the road bitch". 

Karen laughed beside Blake. 

We arrived at the party. Everybody got out of the car. Logan took my hand and we made our way inside. 

Many photographers were present and taking pictures. I wished at that moment I would shrink because I didn't look at the attention they were showing.

Through nervousness, She squeezes  Logan's hand unknowingly. 

" Everything will be alright ". Logan cups her cheeks in his hand and smiles slightly assuring her, She nods.

They went inside followed by Blake and Logan. Ellen gasps when they entered the hall. The place was magnificent. Wow just wow. 

Karen was right, I was certainly not overdressed for this party. Everyone and everything thing here looked so high class. 

Some of them were giving  attention I didn't want. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me at that moment.

" Let's go ". Ellen went with Logan and she turns her attention back to Karen and saw her mouth a " have fun " with a thumbs up leaving with Blake.

" Hello, Logan ". A handsome man in his late forties said give Logan a warm hug.

" Uncle, it's nice to see. I didn't think you'd come to the party since you are always busy with your business ". 

" Oh my boy why wouldn't. It has been a year since I last came to visit ". Turning his attention on Ellen he asked. 

" And who is this lovely girl who has captured the attention of all of us with her presence. He took my hand and kissed the top making me blush.

" Her name is Ellen. She is my date and also my classmate in school. Logan said looking at her. I don't know why, but I wanted him to say something else but I couldn't quiet put my finger on what it was.

" Is what he's saying, true dear? I hope he's not forced you here with him. Ellen looks at him in surprise. How did he know? She asked herself.

" Just kidding. He laughed. I am just surprised that you are here with him because he always comes to events without any companion so I was wondering why. I know he can be much demanding.

Is that so, Ellen thought. Why hasn't he brought any girl to meet his family when he has many girls. Probably because he's a man whore my conscience screamed.

" Excuse me Logan. He said patting his back. " I've since an old friend and am going to meet him. Your father is somewhere here, go meet him.

" And Ellen, It's nice meeting you. Take care of my boy ". He said making his way through the crowd. 

" Are you okay? Logan asked. Yes am fine, why wouldn't I be. " Don't take anything he said seriously. He just likes to joke around ". 

I've not. I Know am only here for Karen's interest so you don't have to remind me. I said in a sad voice.

Logan looks at her but says nothing. " Let's go see my father ".
