His To Take

Ellen wakes up at the shouting voice of her mother.

"Wake up, Ellen! time to go to school. You don't want to be late for your first day at college, do you? Ellen groanes in frustration. She stretches and gets up. She goes to the bathroom room and does her business, and comes out to dress. She opens her closet and takes out a jumpsuit. 

Ellen didn't know what to wear on her first day so she wore it and applied just an eyeliner. 

She didn't like using makeup because her mom always says she looked like an angel even without make-up. 

But for the sake of her going to college, which is Harvard, one of the best Universities in the world, she has to do it. "Who knows what will happen on my first day", Ellen whispers.

She pulls up her hair into a ponytail. Ellen was satisfied with how she looked when she glanced in the mirror. She takes her backpack and goes downstairs for breakfast. 

"Good morning Mom?" She greets.

"Well hello dear, you look so beautiful today. I hope you are not tempted to steal other girls' boyfriends on your first day in college. Evelyn says playfully ". 

Sharon wants Ellen to get a boyfriend because she is now Eighteen years and needs a little romance in her life. "What am I going to do with a boyfriend, mom? All boys are annoying and I don't think I will be able to love even one of them. Perhaps I am destined to die alone", she says dramatically.

"Oh don't be silly Ellen, Sharon says. You haven't met the right boy that's why you are saying that. One day you will meet a boy who will make your heart accelerate just like I did when I met your father". 

"Who knows maybe your dream guy is in your new school". 

Ellen turns to her mother, not every man is Dad, Mom. Ellen's father is one in a million and every day she misses him. Ellen wishes that he was still alive. She and her mother wouldn't have moved from Mexico to the states if he was there. She wouldn't have left all her friends and previous life back home and gone to a university in another country even though she chose to go to Harvard. She only wanted to go to school here not move permanently to the states.

"I know Ellen, I love jack as much as you do but we had to move here to start a new life.

"Now hurry up and eat your breakfast. I don't want you to be truly late on your first day".

Ellen nod and goes to have her breakfast. When she was finished, She takes her bag and headed outside with her Mom. Evelyn locks the doors. She walks to her car, opens it, and got into her car. " Ellen gets in the car too because her mother insisted on dropping her at the University on her first day. "Mom, won't you be late for work? Ellen asks.

"No, not at all, I got plenty of time. Evelyn, says as she drives Ellen to school. The car stops at the school entrance. Ellen looks at the school nervously but She feels a hand holding hers warmly. Evelyn, smiled at Ellen assuring her that everything was going to be okay.

"Don't worry Ellen everything is going to be okay, you will be fine, Evelyn says smiling. " I hope so", she says and got out of the car. She walked through the gate. She glanced back and saw her mom wave at her. She also waves back and went inside the school. 

Ellen was very nervous so she kept her head down not wanting to draw any unwanted attention to her. She kept walking but unexpectedly, she hits a body and fell hard on her ass. She feels her butt burning but she swallows it and apologizes.

"Sorry, She says to whoever she had bumped into.

She looks up a see a pair of blue eyes that belonged to an attractive girl. She wouldn't say attractive she was very beautiful with long tanned legs, a face to die for, and a sexy smile. She was gorgeous.

She looked over at Ellen. Ellen thought she was about to be a bitch because that's how most of the beautiful girls in school behaved because of their good looks.

She waited for the insults but nothing came. The girl smiles showing white perfect teeth. She extended her hand to help her up. Ellen didn't trust people easily. She was debating whether to take her hand or not. Who knew what if it was a payback plot for her bumping into her.

She doubtful took her hand and she pulls me up. "it's okay is my fault I wasn't looking ahead or I wouldn't have bumped into you like this, She apologized. By the way, my name is Karen Jeffrey, nice to meet you". 

Eeermm am Ellen Santiago. Am a new student here. " So you just came today, it's obvious, it's silly of me for asking", Karen says.

"Am a new student myself but I'm two weeks old here. She says grinning. So, can we be friends? She asked.

Ellen is new in the school and she yearned for a good friend so she said yes. "It's my first day and I could use a friend", Ellen says making sure that she doesn't sound disparate.

" Okay, I got to submit my assignment so goodbye. See you later", Karen says smiling.

"Maybe the people in this school aren't as bad as I thought". Ellen mutters to herself before making her way to the principal's office.
