Chapter 7

Nina's pov

Nina went to the bathroom crying. She looked at her own reflection in the mirror. She touched her face and noticed allthe little details of her face. She had dark circles under her eyes and her body was now too thin. She kept looking at the mirror for a while and thought that maybe its her fault that Damon is cheating on her. If she was more beautiful then Damon would never go to another women.

"You look so disgusting,  you don't deserve his love that's why he goes to another woman " she told herself. Without thinking anything else she took out a hidden blade from one of the drawers."You are so ugly"  she said to herself again and felt the need to punish herself. Her heart was racing crazily and she was feeling an ache inside her heart that was making her feel suffocated. So, without wasting anymore time, she just pushed the blade deep inside her left arm, tearing the skin so deeply. Nina felt the ache in her heart lessen as blood gushed out from the cut. She closed her eyes and inhaled air to fill her lungs again. Right now she just wanted to feel this pain take her pain away. Nina knew that it was not a healthy practice but she just couldnt help herself, it has become a salvation for her, it has become the only thing that makes her forget everything even for a short moment.

Damon's pov

After Nina's sudden burst Damon was speechless. He felt a rage inside him. He couldn't help but admit that whatever she said was nothing but the truth. When Nina was talking to him he saw the pain in her eyes. And what did she meant when she said that she is not blind. Does that mean that she knows his dirty secret? Does that mean that she knows hoe Damon is cheating on her. "No, no, that can never happen, no God please no" Damon prayed in his mind. Damon always had this fear in his mind, this fear always kept eating him from inside. He feared seeing that look in Nina's eyes. But no, he will never accept that he has cheated, becasue he knows that if Nina hears it from his mouth, she will be ruined and she will hate him to hiscore. He cannot live a life without her. The fact that Nina was in his house, in his bed waiting for him to come home, gave a a sense of peace without which he cannot live. No, he will never admit that he has cheated on her no matter what. He knew that he has become a monster, he knew that he was breaking her. But the thing is that he can never let her leave him because she had become a part of his life now without which there will be no meaning left in his life. But he knew that he was tocix for her, but he just couldnt help himself. He wanted to go to Nina now and tell her how much she meant to him, but then he stopped himself and thought that what can he tell him, will he tell him how no matter how much he cheats on her, she is always the one for her or will he tell her that he is so obsessed with the idea of having her by his side all the time that he is ready to ruin her for it. "ugh, I hate myself' Damon thought and raked his hand through his hair and finally left home.

It was almost midnight now and Damon was in his office. He has literally fired a n=buch of emplyees  today. He was really a mess now. He felt so restless. The feeling of guilt was eating him. Nina's painful eyes haunted him again and again and again. His breain was replaying that "I'm not blind, damon" sentence again and again like a broken player. what did Nina even mean by that. If she really knows everything, than why does she still love and respect him somuch, why does she wait for him and rush to see him whenever he is home, why does she call her like crazy even though he doesnt pick up. And most importantly, how did Nina feel when she got to know that her husband was cheating on her, he can only imagine how heartbroken she would be after knowing the truth. 

He remembered how she was before. They were childhood sweet hearts. Nina was such a positive and outgoing girl. She used to live her life to the fullest. But now most of the time she is at home, drunk. But then Damon changed her, Nina made Damon the center of her life. In college, there were so many boys who wanted Nina, they tried their best to get a little close to her and flirt with her. Those boys made Damon crazy. So, Damon always made sure that he was with her and slowly, Damon bacame her everything. So, how would she feel after knowing that she cant even trust the person whom she has made the center of her life. Damon sighed heavily. He knew that it was no one but him who made her like this. He really needed to see her now, he was feelign insecured and suffocated without her, he needed to have her in his arms. So, without wasting anytime, he took the car keys and left for home.

Nina's pov

Nina was now sitting on the couch drinking her favorite brandy. He head was getting fuzzy now and she knew she was drunk.  But she felt like this was the only way to feel relived because it made her numb. She had a feeling that Damon would be home tonight, actually she really wanted him to be home tonight, with her, holding her in his arms. She knew that she was weak for him, she knew that she depended on him too much, but she just couldnt help herself becasue to her Damon was her oxygen. She took a deep breath as she poured another glass.
