Chapter 6

Nina's pov

Nina opened her eyes as the sunlight hit her face and felt someone holding her tight. She looked around and saw that it was none other then Damon. Damon had his arms around her body tightly as if she would fade if he didnt hold on to her. Suddenly Nina realized that she was all naked under the blanket and so was Damon. Nina was very embarrassed and shocked. It had been so long since they made love. Nina tried to remember what happened last night but all she could remember was her all alone in the middle of the road at night. She wondered if they made love last night and blushed. Before she could think anything else she felt Damon waking up.

As Damon opened his eyes Nina tried to cover her body with the blanket. Damon sat up straight and looked at her. His hand reached for her forehead as he checked her temperature.

"How are you feeling now? "he asked.

"umm I'm okay but what had happened to me?" she asked with a confused tone.

"You don't remember anything, do you? " he asked.

"stop trying to hide your body from me Nina, you dont have to be shy in front of me, I'm your husband for God's sake" Damon said and Nina could sense some anger in his tone.

Nina didnt say anything to his comment and kept clutching the blaket to her chest, she was not comfortable in front of him like this. She wanted to ask him why all of a sudden he felt like acting like a husband to her when all these days he left her alone and ignoring her phone calls.

" Well, can you please never scare me like taht again? you just gave me a mini heart attack when I dound you lying by the side of the car" he said in duh tone.

"what are you talking about? " Nina asked again.

" after I saw the phone calls I tracked your location and went there as fast as I could,  I found you there unconscious and as cold as ice. I tried many things but you were still very cold and when I called the doctor he told me to give you body heat" he explained.

Nina kept quiet and tried to get up wrapping the blanket around her.

"welll.... get ready fast, I need to talk to you about something " was all she heard from Damon as she entered the bathroom.

Damon's pov

Damon opened her eyes and saw Nina  looking at him with eyes wide. He remembered how bad her condition was last night and he immediately checked her temperature. He was thankful that she was not cold anymore and she also didnt have fever.  He asked her how she was feeling now and she said she was okay and asked what happened last night . She was trying hard to cover her body with the blanket. He felt a little angry at that, he was her husband she didn't need to cover herself in front of him. He had seen every part of her and he was proud of it.  He explained everything to her. And said that he needed to have a talk with her.

Damon's heart ached thinking what could have happened to nina last night if he didn't get her. He was so frustrated at the fact that no matter how many times he told her to take the driver with him she never listens.  He was also thinking why she was out for so long. What if He didnt see the missed calls on his phone, what if he dint know how to find her, what would have happened if she was out there all night alone and cold. Damon still felt so resless. His heart calmed a bit at night when he had hugges her body to give her his body heat. Only for that that he could feel some peace. But now that she is again not in front of his sight, he started feeling restless. He felt like he needed to around her at least for today. Not for her sake, but for his sake, for his own sanity. Only God knows, what how much this girl meant to him.

Nina came in his view. She was wearing a simple sapphire color flower dress. Damon gulped hard seeing her. He always appreciated how Nina looked elegant in every simple dress. Her feminine body with all the right curves can alwasy make him feel emotions that he tries his best to hide.

"You wanted to talk with me " said Nina.

" Yes. At first tell me why do I have all those cars in the garage? " Damon asked with a stern voice.

" what?  I don't understand " said Nina.

"  Of course you don't,  I literally have 4 cars in the garage and two extra drivers but you still go out with the age old car all alone" Damon said angrily.

Nina flinched at his harsh tone as tears reached her beautiful eyes.

"you are well aware of what that car means to me, arent you?" Nina asked Damon with accusing eyes.

Damon knew that the car held a special place in nina's heart since it was her mother's. But she need to know that her safety always comes first.

"I am well aware of what that car means to you, but sweet heart you mean to me alot more. That car is old and doest even work properly. And you didnt even take a driver. You tell me, how can not me mad at you right now?" Damon said while trying to control his emotions.

"You almost act like you care" Nina said with a fake laugh.

"What do you even mean by that? Why wouldn't I care about you, you are my wife" Damon said. now with anger in his voice.

"Oh really Damon? Then tell me when was the last time you cared?  Tell me when was the last time we acted like a  proper  couple? Do you have any answer for that?  At least tell me where you were last night when I was calling you" Nina said.

Damon was so shocked and he didn't know how to answer. He was more shocked to see the hurting expression in her eyes.

"I'm not blind Damon" was all she said before she left the room in a hurry.
