Thirty One

“You are late.” The grumpy voice of the old man reached Drake’s ears as he walked into his office. As he approached his seat, he noticed that the room was brighter than usual.

The old man must have ordered someone to lift all the window blinds, Drake thought.

And then, he thought that it would be wise for him to keep his anger at the man at bay and not erupt violently just because the man touched his window blinds and introduced an immense amount of illumination.

As he had his seat, Drake got engaged in a very fierce eyelock with his grandfather. Drake could tell why the old man was there and he prepared himself to make sure the man didn’t get a chance to ride over him. He can threaten him all he wants, Drake was going to make sure his grandfather doesn’t have his way.
