Before she put it down, Anna took one more look at the threatening text, the last text her sister got. She had finally made up her mind to let Josh know about that particular finding, but at that moment, she felt so attached to the device.

Perhaps she felt that letting Josh know about Darcy’s phone would severe the emotional connection to her sister she had been having ever since the device fell into her grasp. Perhaps, she was afraid to let it go because she did not want to feel the same way she did when she learned that her sister was dead.

“Anna?” Her father called from the entrance. “You are going to be late for work.”

Anna signed and threw the phone into the black midi-sized bag she had in her grasp to complement her formal yet chic look- a penciled red skirt into which a grey turtleneck was tucked. She stood taller than her father as she turned and approached him and that was thanks to the boot heels.
