1. Chapter One.

I swallowed deeply as the frigid winds wrapped around my body and gave me shivers. My boot clung to the ground, sending hollow noises through the streets as the gloomy night shook menacingly.

I hurriedly brushed my cheeks away as tears clouded my view. I sighed feeling almost hopeless and ready to give up. Walking down the deserted street, I experienced nothingness. Was I really as gullible as everyone gathered of me?

The worst possible decision I could have made was to leave work and stop close to my boyfriend's place. It was horrible to see my now ex-boyfriend, who was also with my best friend, lying in bed.

As tears continued to stain my face, I was overcome by the unease of a clouded mind, followed by the trembling of weak knees, the tightening of my stomach, and the urge to vomit.

I hunched myself into a ball-like manner and hastened my speed as the raindrops dispersed and the night became colder.

My heels clicking on the floor was suddenly drowned out by the sound of heavy rain falling nearby on neighboring trees and rooftops.

The night mercilessly pounded my flesh in a back-and-forth motion, almost engulfing me in its blustery arms and dragging me into its dark depths.

The sound of a vehicle screeching in the distance as it was undoubtedly approaching me caused my heart to pound violently against my chest.

As I ran fast forward while the chilly winds lashed my face in an ominous manner, I closed my eyes in fear.

I hurriedly whispered a prayer, hoping and praying that the car in the distance was none other than Liam, my now-ex-boyfriend, but something inside of me warned me that this would not be the case tonight.

Luck had a thing for my intestines, and tonight was no exception. The few times luck coaxed up something spectacular for me, it was now out for double vengeance.

Chills continued to cripple my body as my clouded mind thought of ways to escape the nights horror.

I quickly ran and knocked on nearby doors but unfortunately I received nothing less than a mere whisper from the wind telling me to now hide.

Moving swiftly I headed behind a tree hoping the car would pass by and not notice my absolute idiocy and lack of concealment skills.

Unfortunately, the car, a gleaming black studded romper, came to a halt precisely in the middle of the roadway, right next to the tree I was hiding behind, only a few feet away.

As I heard the car door open, I instinctively drew in my breath, as if this would accomplish anything.

A gust of wind blew by, and I was immediately engulfed by odd aromas cascading around my nostrils, a highly unfathomable scent to be sure. I'd never smelled anything like that before.

I swiftly knelt down and gripped down on my ear, covering it out of fear as my head hit the back of the tree.

Unfortunately, three figures quickly appeared in the darkness before me, making my heart race with fear. The fact that there was no moon this night and it was entirely black made it even more scary because it was difficult for me to see the figures properly.

I was now trembling and peaking in the distance about to run when one of the individuals standing before me spoke.

"Perfect, a fine specimen worth abducting."

"How can you tell if the girl is worth kidnapping by just looking at her Vince?" The female spoke.

"Easy, you can smell her fear. The others we kidnapped before could not contain there urges to keep there mouths shut and spoke whenever they were not spoken to, they were clearly not afraid and that displeased our master which then lead to their demise unfortunately." The spoke as if recalling the events of before.

"You might actually be correct there."

Hearing there frightening statements my heart nearly fell out of my chest and thankfully my legs decided to work and I quickly got up and ran, as I was about to scream my throat out for help I was swiftly held from behind with strong arms while my mouth was covered.

"Maybe you spoke too soon." The female voice snickered at the male.

"She'd pray not. The consequences for being disobedient is punishable by death." The man holding me from behind said and I gasped within his palms as tears now once again brimmed my eyes.

I struggled in his arms as I was soon being carried away as if weighing nothing but a sack of pounds. I was a tiny figure yet the manner in which he carried me was a little frightening.

There words resonated in my ear making me continuously tremble in fear. Once I was placed in the back of there car I fought the urge to beg for my dear life. My chest tightened on the verge of throwing up.

There words echoed in my ear, causing me to shudder in fear. I battled the impulse to beg for my life after I was placed in the back of their car. Both men sat next to me while the woman drove the car.

"W-what do you want with me?" I stuttered out feeling even more colder in the car than I felt in the rain.

"You will soon come to know of your purpose human girl. From now on your life shall be filled with excitement so there's no need to dwell in the past or try to escape." He said to me in a more sinister tone like-manner.

As I resisted the impulse to give up and allow myself to be overcome by absolute terror and need for another chance at life, my breath stuck in my throat. I refrained from asking further inquiries since his statements intimidated me so much.

The phrases 'human female' and 'excitement' kept repeating in my head, which perplexed me greatly. The pictures of what might happen to me once the night is through made my throat dry, but I was able to suppress them all.

I tried peaking outside the car window to see where I was being lead to just in case I could escape and find my way back outside but unfortunately the windows were tinted and I had been lead to a section of only trees and dirt ground.

Going further into what seemed like the woods, we soon came upon more trees and dirt road, we drove for about half an hour more before the car was lead to a huge opening.

It was like having six mansions all to yourself. I had never seen anything like the stunning beauty that I saw. There was one particular mansion in the exact center of everything that seemed like a whole kingdom by itself.

I was suddenly pulled out of the car and while I couldn't help be sickened at the fact I was going to be sold to rich people for entertainment obviously I couldn't help but gawk at it's glorious stature before me.

While I was passing by, it felt like a hidden gem. I was brutally pulled by my captor, who then led me to a little location near to what appeared to be an adjacent palace.

I was shooed into a tiny white room that had a bed, a closet in the corner, a grey couch, a door that appeared to be a bathroom, and a chandelier that overlooked the room's dated but well-maintained appearance.

"We're sorry, but we're done entertaining you for the evening. Our lord has asked that we meet with him, and I might not be back for a while. It would be preferable for you to stay in this room for the time being because you could end up being taken." I had a gut feeling that he had meant killed as opposed to taken.

"While I'm away, the maid will bring you something to eat. There are two rules for me, and if you break either of them, you will suffer the consequences. One, don't try to flee, and two, never open those drapes." The stranger cautioned me while indicating behind me with his finger.

"If your obedient then you'll be rewarded." He spoke for the last time and that when I ran to the bathroom door and opened the toilet to empty my stomach while I continued to cry.

As my life abruptly took a turn for the worse or at the very least, not for the better, I was suddenly left alone in the dark with no one and nothing.
