LOGINI walked into the gate dressed in my uniform, a blazer, navy blue and embroidered school crest on the chest pocket. Crisp white long sleeve button down shirt, neatly pressed trousers and striped ties. I walked into the compound, my eyes staring around in admiration. This guy must be freaky wealthy and classy to own such a school.
The school compound is breathtaking, like a scene from a magazine. Towering glass-and-marble buildings gleam in the sunlight, their reflections dancing on the spotless tiled walkways. Manicured gardens burst with colorful flowers, and tall, graceful trees provide cool shade along the paths. Fountains sparkle at every corner, their gentle splash filling the air with calm. Luxury cars hum quietly as they pass through the grand, wrought-iron gates, while uniformed guards stand alert but polite. Every detail — from the polished benches to the golden school emblem shining at the entrance — whispers of prestige and quiet, effortless wealth. I walked into the administrative office to fill files after which a green-eyed lady led me through corridors into a classroom. “We have a new student, His name is Leo Houston” . “You can have a seat over there, Leo,” the lady gestured. I sat beside a guy. It was the only vacant sit available. “Hi, I’m Miguel” He turned towards me. “I’m Leo,” I replied, and began arranging my stuff in the locker, I lifted my face my eyes met with Miguel’s eyes. He looked so handsome. He has beautiful eyes, broad shouldered, his hair slightly tousled from basketball practice, his tie loosen a bit. He’s freaky handsome. I caught my self and stared away instantly. My eyes pinned on the long notebook in front of me. *** The campus was quiet, most of the students had slept. I stood by the window staring out at the tall school buildings that had lights shining brightly in it. It looked beautiful like a lit pack of candle sticks. The breeze rushed through the windows, the stars sparkled brightly. I touched the bracelet around my wrist. It’s so precious to me, that’s the gift mum gave me the day I turned eighteen. “It will help you discover who you truly are dearie, okay”. My mum whispered to my ears. I never understood what that meant cause there were lots of smiles and party and cakes that filled that moment. But now I don’t even know who I am anymore, I wake up everyday taunted by dreams of wolves and forests. My eyes change colors when I stare at myself in mirrors. And yes, I can remember clearly, when I met with Alpha Daman, the time he walked past me during the contest, an animal whimpered softly, happily within me, yeah, I was sure of it, it made a gentle high pitch sound inside me, as though it was so excited. I felt it strongly. Could that be my wolf? But that’s not possible. I am only human. Yeah mum and dad are humans. Now I know the bracelet holds a secret about me. I stared at the shiny tiny chain, and suddenly it fell from my hand through the window. I gasped as I watched the glittering metal fly downwards and dropped by the bluish swimming pool. Oh! I can’t lose it, it meant a lot to me? I rushed out of the room rushing down the long stairs of campus, my footwear making loud sounds. Outside was so cold, I headed towards the pool not giving a damn about the chills the cold sent down my spine. A group of boys gathered there. There might be up to eight or something. A blonde-haired guy stood in the middle holding my bracelet. He spoke with a Spanish accent while the other guys laughed pointing at the bracelet. I was scared but I swore to face hell while protecting that bracelet, it meant everything to me. “Hey give that to me, it’s mine” I almost yelled. The guys stared at me and bursted into laughter, it’s so obvious they are bullies. “Why will a guy like you possess a girlish bracelet?” The first guy said with raised eyebrows. Everyone laughed except me. “He possibly got that for his girlfriend, such a poor dude” the other guy said. “Where did he even get the nerves to face us?” “The poor dude is just a newbie, that gave him the guts to rant before us, but let me introduce KK gangs to him” With that the guy hit me very hard across my cheeks. I sniffed and touched the blood that gushed from my nose. Tears hung loosely in my eyes and as I stared up at the boys the tears poured out in strands. Another hand smacked me very hard again across my cheeks and I felt that taste of blood in my mouth. “He is an honest boyfriend, he came to fight for his girlfriend’s bracelet” . “Is that tears in his face, come on dude real guys don’t cry, they fight, okay, so give us a punch in the face” The blonde hair guy whispered to my ears and laughed as he went close to the pool, with one more smirk at me he let the shiny bangle fall. Instantly my heart stopped beating for a while. “It will help you discover who you truly are dearie, okay” My mum’s words resounded again in my head as I watched the metal sink in the pool. My lips were trembling, hot tears strolled down my face. I jumped into the pool, It wasn’t just a pool. It was very deep. I sank deep into the water. I stayed so long struggling to find the bracelet. I was losing my breath, I felt so weak and was slowly dying. “Leo!!!!” I heard someone scream loudly in a voice that belonged to Miguel. I was loosing my breath, Slowly I passed out in the pool.I leaned my back on the wall with my eyes shut expecting the worst, cold tears strolled down my cheeks. “Even if I am ever gonna break apart one day. I just wanted to make that cruel Alpha feel what pain could be…I just.. just” tears choked me. Suddenly I felt the flames, the burning sensation. It was heavy. The tent was on fire. I could feel my skin burning from the heat. I curled to myself. There was nothing I could do to get out of this place. The tent was ablaze and the whole place filled with thick smoke. I coughed and gasped for breath. The fire was getting closer. The burning sensation on my skin was painful and unbearable. I collapsed to the floor. I felt a new energy inside of me, it was strange, at first it felt like I was being electrocuted. My body shook vigorously and then the lightning flashed from my eyes, brightening the whole tent, like a thunderstorm. Instantly, the fire ceased. The smoke stopped. There was almost no trace of fire in the tent. What…! What just
Today is the final day for the project. The students gathered under the thick canopy of a tree, its massive branches stretched like umbrellas filtering the sun into gentle beams. The ground beneath was cool and quiet, while Mr. Draco read the project manual. I sat with my team. Our green shirts were uniquely designed. “After you have successfully collected the leaves. Each specimen will be examined for color, texture, and vein patterns. You will compare them against a field guide to identify the field species.” He stopped and started almost instantly. “After this there would be further analysis in the lab where they would be tested for photosynthetic activity and medicinal properties” “Get yourselves ready, it will kick off in the next few minutes”I took a deep breath, my palms were already sweaty. “ You can do this” I said and parted myself lightly in the back. Kassandra walked up to me panicking and begging, I was a bit startled. I have never seen her so desperate for a thin
The loud sound of the Mar. Draco’s voice woke us from sleep. I stood up. We took turns in taking our baths. And after being dressed. The commander began reading out the manual in his hands. “For today, you will go with your group in search of the listed species of plants” “You must correctly label each found plant, the first group to return with the correctly labeled plant, wins the contest for today”The students listened attentively, and soon the project began. We walked deep into the forest in search of the listed plants. The forest was not so thick. I searched eagerly for the leaves. My mind was focused on the green leaves and suddenly I heard a strange sound beside me that made my heart skip. I turned. It was an animal, a wolf. My feet shook, a cold shiver ran down my spine. I stumbled backwards falling on the leaves. The golden eyes of the animal peered at me. It took steps towards me on the floor where I lay. Then it leaned closer to me on the floor. My heart was slammi
Heira’s povI walked to school the next day with cold feet, I felt scared as I stared down at the trouser I wore. What would it mean, when the school star knows of my true identity? The moments flowed in my mind. The way his blue eyes pierced mine. The spark. His voice. When he said, “You..you are a girl”. The slight stutter, the shock. What would it mean now? Would he say it out to the whole schoolMost of the students pulled up in exclusive cars. Students walked out. Girls, in well pressed uniforms stylishly worn, and short flare school skirts. Guys in well pressed trousers and neat sneakers. Walked round slapping hands, giggling, talking about the latest song or the sports headlines. The public transport pulled up in front of the school gate. I took a deep breath and walked into the school compound. My heart is slamming loudly against my chest. I walked to class. Fortunately the class teacher walked in almost immediately, a tall Chinese lady dressed in a suit, her long blonde h
Alpha Daman. In a slightly dark chamber. The wind was getting heavier. The room got darker. I stood and watched the short bald headed man in front of me. As he mixed substances and stared at the open pages of the book. I grew impatient watching the man. “I am sorry, my Alpha, it’s almost done” he mumbled each time his eyes lids puckered in concentration. I stood there, my eyes pinned on him with a clenched jaw, my hands crossed at the back. The wind got heavier, it rushed in through the open window giving the room a cozy feel. Zeus coughed, a croaky sound to clear his throat. He stared up. It was so apparent that he was being careful enough to avoid getting on my nerves. His eyes stared up towards my direction his head was slightly bowed.“My Alpha.. I…I” he stuttered trying hard to mask the fear he felt. “What did you find, Zeus” I asked, my whole attention fixed on him. He peered at the book again before speaking up. “ The arrow used on you wasn’t just an ordinary weapon”
The nigt was calm. I sat on my bed and wrote on my diary. Dear Diary,I don’t even know why I’m writing this. Maybe because if I don’t, I’ll break apart.Every time I close my eyes, I see them. Mum’s smile, Dad’s laugh… and then—blood. So much blood. I hear their screams, and I can’t do anything. I wasn’t there to save them. I should have been. Maybe if I had been home earlier… maybe if I had been stronger…But no amount of “maybe” will bring them back.I miss Kayla a lot— My sweet Kayla. I still hear her voice, you know? Calling me to braid her hair, begging me to share my snacks, laughing that silly laugh that always made me smile no matter how angry I was. Now there’s only silence. The house is quiet. Too quiet.Sometimes I wake up thinking I hear her footsteps in the hall… but when I run to look, there’s nothing. Just the empty walls and my own shadow. The Alpha took everything from me. My family. My home. My safety. He left me with nothing but this hole in my chest where my hea
