The contest was way bigger than anything I imagined, the guys who showed up were huge and masculine. I was almost invisible in their midst.

A blonde haired lady in a suit walked up to address the contestants who were possibly half a million individuals. Really everyone longed for the prize, his school. I noticed the shock in the lady's face when she spotted me among the men.

“Hey what’s your name, small boy?” while the other guys laughed.

“I’m Leo,” I answered.

“Okay I believe you are fit for what we are here to do” she said and turned to the rest of the crowd.

“The contest will kick off in an hour's time, get yourselves lady, anyone defeated goes home straight”.

Just in time, the contest resumed. I could swear I saw him.

Yes, it's him. Alpha Daman.

So many guards walked with him, two were in his front. He walked in their midst with slow graceful steps. He wore a black cloak with a bold D on its chest.

I was freaked by his look. He is really young, and terribly handsome, and his masculine body and broad shoulders made him look like a hot god. His blue eyes were the most attractive I have ever seen. There was a unique calmness around him. As I stared at him. Anger and resentment filled me. Oh I wished I could thrust a sword through him and watch him die, how dare him kill my parents.

“Get out of the way!” It was one of his guards.

I couldn’t believe I had been standing in his way, staring blankly at him.

“I am sorry young master” I bowed my face.

And when I lifted my face, he was staring at me, our eyes met and stayed for a while. He stared at me as though he suspected something, a strange secret, then he walked off. I had to catch my breath from the shock.

When the contest kicked off. I knew straight from how fierce the fight was that I didn’t stand any chance of being even among the top ten.

Indeed I had practiced, oh I have tirelessly practiced with the sword but seeing how even the perfect and well trained men were defeated made my confidence vanish. I was not sure I had ever seen a sword tournament this strict before, the swords moved with great swiftness smashing with shattering sounds.

Oh perhaps Nadine was right, there was no way I could win this contest. It was my turn and my heart sank very deep into my chest, I looked around and every eyelid was fixed on me, it seemed everyone was curious to know what sword skill gave me the confidence to be here.

“ The guy on my list as your opponent is Gibs Andrew!” The lady called out and a tall fierce looking masculine guy walked out. My heart skipped a beat, my grip on the sword shaking. Standing with him, I looked like an ant.

“You can start,” the lady said. I saw the guy’s sword coming swiftly towards me, almost chopping off my head so I had to dodge it, almost running away. The other guys laughed, some murmuring.

“Does this look like a comedy show to you, now get out?” The lady growled at me, her eyes glaring hard at me.

I noticed the Alpha’s eyes on me. I could feel it. I stood with the boys who failed and would be returning home. My heart burned as I stared at him. I would find another way around it. I concluded. Then I saw him whispering to his guard who turned and stared in my direction, then the guard walked up to the curvy lady in a suit and whispered something. The lady turned my direction and scoffed instantly, staring at me with a spark of resentment in her eyes.

The contest was over. The lady walked to the front while All eyes stared fixedly at her to hear the name of the lucky winner. I knew this plan was a complete mess already . “ I won’t give up though, there will surely be another way.” I thought to myself then watched the lady at the front.

“I appreciate that everyone of you did amazingly well, and that’s impressive but this is a contest so therefore there is a winner, so our top in the list is…” she stopped and stared up at the crowd. Everyone dripped with curiosity. I wasn't left out. I watched to see the lucky guy.

“Our winner for today’s contest is Leo Houston!” Everyone stared around for the Leo guy including me, where is he?? I expects such a lucky person to run out smiling or even jumping but there was not even a sign of the Leo guy. I stretched my legs to see through the crowds. My eyes. searching for the lucky guy. I caught the lady’s eyes on me. It dawned on me that Leo Houston was my new name, since I turned to my new identity— boy.

“Leo Houston, Where are you? Walk forward!” She said again. I gathered every strength and walked forward. I couldn’t grasp the shock.

How?? For real.

I was the least of the guys here, I could barely hold that sword. It’s so obvious that there was something else. What really happened?? Did Daman tell her to retain me, definitely not possible, who am I for him to take notice of me??? But… like… I can’t believe it myself.

I walked to the top, while the lady peered into the book in her hand and said “Congratulations Leo, you are the winner of today’s contest”

“ Why that boy??? this is not fair”

“He is the least here”

“Maybe there’s a mistake somewhere!” Soon everyone was murmuring.

“Quiet everyone, I understand your views and I must add that the parameters for judging this isn’t just skill but also on other measures quite personal. With that I believe We have come to the end of it for today” the lady announced and dismissed the crowd.

  • His pretty Luna   CHAPTER SEVEN

The morning sun hit on my face causing me to groan and shield my face. I opened my eyelids slowly and turned off the alarm that had been beeping for a long while. Today is not school day, it’s Saturday and I can’t help but feel so good, my lips stretching in a smile. I picked up my phone lying beside my bed pillow. And turned it on. A lot of messages flowed in causing my phone to beep. I glanced at the phone, those messages were from the school chat. I didn’t open it. I turned on the music “ Dancing with your ghost” by Sasha Sloan. And plucked on my headphones. I walked to the shower room and brushed my teeth. I walked out and stared at the room.A king-sized bed stood at the center, dressed in silky white sheets and a thick cream duvet, with pillows of different sizes piled high like clouds. A velvet throw in deep gold lay across the foot of the bed, adding a rich, elegant touch.Against one wall sat a sleek marble-topped desk, with a gold lamp, a few leather-bound notebooks, and

I was there, in the deep end of the water, my body limp, my hands barely showing on the surface before disappearing underwater. My eyes were closed, I fainted but somehow I could hear their voices. Am I dead??? Why can I still hear their voices? But I can’t move or even open my eyelids. No matter how I tried . It seemed I was faraway watching this.Noo!!! He screamed again in a tone filled with panic.Without thinking, he dove in, the shock of the cold water forgotten. His arms sliced through the water with desperate speed until he reached me. My eyes were shut, my hair fanned around my face like dark silk. For a terrifying moment, I felt too still, too weightless in his arms.“ please—please don’t do this,” he muttered, dragging me towards the edge with every ounce of strength in him.Pulling me out, he collapsed to his knees beside me, his hands trembling as he tilted my head back. People shouted around him, but their voices were static.“Breathe,” he choked, pressing on my chest.

I walked into the gate dressed in my uniform, a blazer, navy blue and embroidered school crest on the chest pocket. Crisp white long sleeve button down shirt, neatly pressed trousers and striped ties. I walked into the compound, my eyes staring around in admiration. This guy must be freaky wealthy and classy to own such a school. The school compound is breathtaking, like a scene from a magazine. Towering glass-and-marble buildings gleam in the sunlight, their reflections dancing on the spotless tiled walkways. Manicured gardens burst with colorful flowers, and tall, graceful trees provide cool shade along the paths. Fountains sparkle at every corner, their gentle splash filling the air with calm. Luxury cars hum quietly as they pass through the grand, wrought-iron gates, while uniformed guards stand alert but polite. Every detail — from the polished benches to the golden school emblem shining at the entrance — whispers of prestige and quiet, effortless wealth. I walked into the adm

Heira’s pov.In the moving plane, I sat with my friend Nadine who was flipping the pages of a magazine. Oh I can’t wait to get home, I can’t wait to see mum again. It’s been more than eight months now since I left home. I closed my eyes and listened to the music “perfect” by Ed Sheeran, my head phone connected to my ears, I loved it as the plane soared in the sky. “Oh! take a look Heira, Daman got ranked as the youngest billionaire in the world” Nadine said with a tone that was almost a scream. “Daman? Who’s that? is he a musician?” Heira asked, taking a bite of the burger in her hand.“Seriously? Who doesn’t know Daman?”“This is his picture” she showed me the magazine. “Wow, he is handsome,” I said, staring at the guy.’s image.“Come on bae, you don’t just say it like that, the guy is damn so hot, I heard from those who have seen him, that you can’t stare at him without drooling.”“Okay?” I said reluctantly, taking another bite of my burger. “He is very powerful and possesses g

  • His pretty Luna   CHAPTER TWO

I walked through the balcony to deliver a scroll to Daman’s throne room, I heard his voice cold and unnerving as ever speaking with the guards. I hid by the door. “We found the culprit my lord, her name is Kayla Anderson, one of the students”. Ethan replied facing downwards. Alpha Daman stared up at Ethan, a painful glint in his eyes.“Where is she?”“She escaped, before we could find out. I apologize, my Lord”. “And her household?” He cut Ethan off coldly. “She’s the daughter of king Anderson, the ruler of a large kingdom. She has only one sibling called Heira” Ethan said. “Get my white horse ready.” He ordered and took up his sword lying on the table. Instantly my feet froze where I stood, I stopped breathing, my whole blood stopped flowing instantly . I turned and stared around. He was walking out. I knew from the sound of his steps. Oh! no I trembled. I looked for a place to hide but there was no place. If I turn and run away he would definitely know someone was there. He mi
