Alaric's POV

"What do you mean by everyone has to stay back? Do you think the warriors have no right to ask for what they want? They are the ones protecting this pack with their lives, so tell me, why can't we give them what they want, huh?" I asked angrily, slamming my hand against the table in front of me.

My voice echoed through the large room, making the guards standing near the door lower their heads. I could feel the anger burning inside my chest.

Alaric's POV"Good morning, Alpha," he greeted me, keeping his head lowered. "I am sorry to disturb you this early, but there is something important you need to know."Marcus came into my room and bowed his head respectfully, I turned toward him while adjusting the sleeves of my shirt."What happened?" I asked, looking at him with a serious expression. "Why are you coming to my room this early in the morning?"Marcus slowly raised his head."There are several pack members standing outside the palace," he explained, looking worried. "They have been here since early morning, and they are demanding to see you."I frowned. "What are the pack members doing in front of the palace this early?" I asked, my voice becoming slightly colder. "Did something happen to them?"Marcus nodded. "Yes, Alpha," he answered, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Some of the pack members drank water from the river yesterday, and they suddenly became sick. A few of them died before the healers could help t

Author's POVElara walked into her room with an angry expression on her face. She could not believe that Alaric had defended Sera in front of everyone. Even when the elders accused Sera of being responsible for the explosion at Elder Marcus's house, Alaric refused to believe them.Instead of listening to her, he had chosen to protect Sera. The thought made Elara's blood boil. She closed the door behind her and threw the bag in her hand onto the bed. The bag landed on the soft mattress before falling to the floor. She stood beside the bed for a moment, breathing heavily as she tried to control her anger."How dare she?" Elara shouted, clenching her fists tightly. Her face turned red with anger as she remembered the way Sera had stood beside Alaric. "Does she think she is perfect? Does she think everyone will always protect her no matter what she does?"She shook her head angrily. "I will make sure she pays for every pain she has caused me," she continued, her voice becoming colder. "Sh

Sera's POV"What do you think you're doing, Alaric?" Elara shouted as we entered the palace. Her voice was so loud that I immediately turned towards her. "Why do you have to defend her when you don't even know anything about her?" she continued, pointing towards me. "You don't know what she has done, yet you're standing here protecting her as if she's the only person who matters to you!"I lowered my eyes, I knew Elara was angry, but I never expected her to confront Alaric like that.Alaric held my hand and continued walking, he didn't even look at her at first. However, before we could take another step, Elara quickly moved in front of us and blocked our way.Alaric stopped immediately, his expression changed as he looked at her. "What do you think you're doing?" he asked, his voice becoming cold.Elara stared at him. "That's exactly what I want to ask you!" she shouted, spreading her arms slightly. "What do you think you're doing, Alaric? Why are you treating Sera like she's the on

Sera's POVThe entire hall had become silent after Vivienne accused me of being the spy who helped the Fire Pack attack our territory. I stood beside Alaric, trying to understand how everything had suddenly turned against me.I looked around the hall and noticed the suspicious expressions on the faces of the guests and pack members. Author's POVLord Caspian Vane slowly made his way back into the grand hall. He adjusted his dark suit and looked around the room with a calm expression. His face carried a small smile as he walked among the guests. He had entered the palace disguised as a neutral ambassador, hiding his true identity from most of the guests. Nobody would have guessed that the man walking among them was Lord Caspian Vane, especially with the way he had presented himself. As Caspian stepped further into the hall, a few guests turned to look at him. His appearance attracted attention, but he didn't seem bothered. He simply continued walking until his eyes met Alaric's.Alaric was seated on the main chair, with Elara standing nearby. He noticed Caspian approaching."Welcome. I hope you're enjoying the evening," Alaric greeted, offering him a polite smile.Caspian stopped in front of him and slightly bowed his head."Thank you, Alpha. Sera's POVThe grand hall glittered under the bright crystal chandeliers. Beautiful lights reflected on the polished marble floor, while soft music filled the room. Alphas, Lunas, diplomats, and wealthy businessmen from different packs had gathered for the occasion. Everyone was dressed in beautiful and expensive clothes. I stood beside Alpha Alaric, wearing a beautiful silver gown that fitted my body perfectly. Elara was standing on Alaric's other side.I glanced at her briefly. She looked beautiful in her expensive dress, and her confident smile made it seem as though she belonged at the centre of everything. As we stepped further into the hall, I noticed several eyes turning towards us, I lowered my eyes slightly, trying not to pay too much attention to their stares. As we approached the main chair, several Alphas bowed their heads respectfully."Good evening, Alpha Alaric," one of them greeted, placing his right hand against his chest.Alaric stopped briefly and returned the gr
