Chapter One

Taking slow, noiseless and calculated steps through the stairs. Cameron moved stealthily to avoid getting in the way of the rest of her family. The day before had not been usual, as it was the regular yelling about how awful she was as a wolf.

Life hadn't been easy for her since her mother died, one would think her mother dying had put on a switch of despise in her father and also put a terrible tab on her. Her mother Elena Franklin had made it a point of duty to protect her from the evils of the pack, being a latent wolf was a terrible deficiency for a member of the eclipse pack. She was just as useless as a statue. It's believed that she wouldn't be able to render the pack any use. And that made her father feel extremely disappointed for birthing such a wolf.

However, today was a different day and she didn't want to indulge in any form of altercation between her and her family, especially her father. Just as she got to the foot of the stairs, positioning her backpack, her next step was to head out of the house when she heard a familiar clearing of throat behind her.

"Shit!" She muttered under her breath.

The person cleared her throat again, which meant Cameron needed to turn around. Doing her best to avoid any trouble in the early hours of a school morning. She turned towards her intending tormentor. Right in front of her was no other person than Samantha.

"And where do you think it is you are going?" Samantha glared, folding her arms over her chest.

Cameron felt the urge to scoff, "and how is that any of your business. You aren't my father!" She retorted

"See who is talking back." Samantha jested, rolling her eyes at her, seeing Cameron makes her angry Every Time. Despite the condition she was in, she still maintains an extreme beauty that makes Samantha jealous. All of the things Samantha didn't have Cameron had it; beauty, brains and a wealthy father. Franklin family was one of the richest in the pack and they were respected. The only clause is the main heir of the house who is a latent wolf; Cameron.

Samantha tries to deny the fact that she wasn't envious of Cameron, claiming that Cameron isn't just a likable person. Deep within her, she wished she would go far away. However, she felt grateful for the uncordial relationship Cameron had with her father Harry. It made it easy for her to penetrate his walls and be his favorite child despite not being fathered by him.

Both attend the same high school, and Samantha had made it a point of duty to make Cameron's life miserable, both at home and outside.

Cameron took a deep breath, "you know what, it's of no use talking to you. I will just pretend I didn't see you." She said walking away.

"You and I know I would report you for sneaking out." Samantha told her.

"Did you check the time at all? It's time for school." She growled.

"Don't be so fast, you have something to answer to." Her father's voice came from the top of the stairs.

Cameron's heart sped in her chest, it's been a while since she actually set eyes on her father. He had taken her far away from the main house to keep from seeing her face. Saying, she reminded him of her mother. Shouldn't that be a good thing? One would think she would be his best friend, but he decided to get married again to someone who had a daughter who is of the same age as her.

Ever since Samantha and her mother Eve came into their lives, her world spinned violently, dumping her into the trash can. They always had one thing or the other to say about her and it's confusing, since she always does all she can to avoid them.

"What are you talking about dad?" Cameron queried, her wolf already backing out on the sight of the father. Having her father come in front of her, meant trouble.

"What the hell did you do to my car?" Harry Franklin barked at his daughter.

Cameron looked from Samantha to her father, then back to Samantha again as their eyes locked. She could read the room judging by Samantha's reaction. A lie had been cooked up on her behalf again and she had been dished the delicacy.

"I don't know what you are talking about dad. I didn't leave this house all day." Argued Cameron.

"Don't you dare lie! I saw you drive it out with one of those useless young pack wolves gallivanting around town." Samantha countered.

Cameron felt the urge to pull her neck out, it was obvious the reverse was the case and that had been exactly what Samantha had been doing.

"I did no such thing." Cameron defended herself, her voice shaky at the unfairness she was being subjected to.

Samantha smirked to herself, knowing how Harry can be with Cameron she had reasoned dumping the blame on her. Since he wouldn't bother to check; the night before she had snuck out with her mate Jared after stealing the keys to one of Harry's favorite cars, a Phantom Rolls Royce. She had always wanted to have a ride in the car, most importantly with Jared. Ensuring the whole house was asleep, she snatched the cars and drove out to meet him. She switched sides with Jared and they both drove wildly into the streets, the intention was to make use of the car till their fill and return it back unscathed. Instead, they had been so drunk as Jared drove she had bent down to suck his dick. In the pool of pleasure, Jared had thrown his head to the back and within a blink of an eye slammed the car rear into a tree.

She couldn't bear to confess to such a heinous crime against Harry's favorite car. Something had to be done fast, knowing if he woke up the next morning all hell would let loose. With that in mind, as usual Cameron had come in as the easiest target. And she had been right about Harry losing his mind; he had not seen the car damage yet. She had sent a quick message to him when she returned saying; she saw Cameron driving in and sneaking back to the Arctic.

In his bid to find out if his car had been ruined, he came out of his room to head to the garage. Only to find Cameron fully dressed with Samantha by the stairs looking like she was stopping the culprit from running away.

Just as they all stood looking at one another, Samantha's mother Eve came out of the room. She gave her daughter a look. It was obvious Samantha had filled her mother in on what she had done and doesn't mind lying on her daughter's behalf.

"Why are you so quick to throw on a pity face after ruining things. You always make it seem like we are being cruel to you, it's obvious you have a thing against your father and wouldn't hesitate to ruin everything that he loves." Eve rebuked

"I swear on the moon goddess I know nothing about this. I didn't go anywhere with anyone. I was in my room all day studying for my test." Cameron kept on with her testimony.

Harry shut his eyes trying to keep his wolf in check as the sight of Cameron irked him badly, "I will find out myself if truly you ruined my car." With that being said, he moved down the stairs rigidly heading out to the garage with the rest of the family trailing behind him.

Cameron gasped, almost losing her breath at the sight of the garage.
