Ch 119: Engaged

“Hey,” Nathan took in Chloe’s downcast look as she approached him. The two decided to meet in Tasty Treats Restaurant at the insistence of Chloe.

“Hey” She responded absentmindedly.

“You look pale, Chloe. I understand your father isn’t in the best of shape, but I believe you wouldn’t want him to see you sick also.” Nathan spoke in an endearing tone, eliciting a shocked expression from Chloe.

“How did you know?” Chloe was baffled at his words, and she couldn’t hold herself back from the nagging thoughts in her mind.

“I have my ways. After all, you matter to me. So everything that has to do with you is of utmost importance.” Nathan held Chloe’s hand as he spoke out in one breath. He withheld her weary gaze as his hands patted the back of her palm gently.
