“Everything okay?” Dimitris entered the room nearly silent. My only notice was Helix fading from view quickly. “Read this one.” A diary fell from the shelf and landed on the floor causing my heart to sink a little. “Be easy with them!” I called and rushed over to the book. “Beltane?” It wasn’t close to the beginning maybe a couple of diaries in, so it was well after the barrier had been established. “Why this one?”No response. It took a few days but I was able to eventually not get immediately knocked down by Conrad. He stopped punching me at least even after my insistence that he not go easy. He’d just laugh and knock me on my ass. Helix was more than happy to continue with showing me how to access the bond in the afternoons so it pretty much filled up my day. Each night Dimitris would protest further saying once or twice he didn’t even notice me in his head which I guess wasn’t his favorite thing. Personally, I considered it an accomplishment. Dressing in my typical pants and crop top I used for training I made sure my hair was tied up as securely as possible. Battle training with Conrad was intense on the easiest of days. At least this time Garmesh wouldn’t be here to interrupt though had a feeling Hectyr was going to make an appearance because why not. I was able to convince Dimitris to allow Yvet to take me to the training area at least, which would be in Hectyr’s favor if he did decide to show. For a moment I felt a twitch of pain in my stomach but it faded kind of quickly so I didn’t give it a second thought. Most likely it was just Dimtiris and I giving each other a little extra slack with out bond. Which if he was going to allow his brother to beat me up that was better for him. A few servants gave me some scowls but Yvet was able to shut them down. She cursed at them saying I was still the ward and deserved respect. I appreciated her so much.
