Chapter 7

Tracey's POV

"Yeah, of course, I've got a boyfriend. I'm not a fucking nun! And you know what? He's the father of my son Nathan! And if you don't stop treating me like this right now, I'll fucking sue you and get a restraining order on you!"

Lucas looked lost and frustrated. There were flames in his eyes.

I hadn't seen him being mad like this. Not even for once.

As I was trying to break away from him, he pulled me back.

"How dare you say something like this in front of me? Are you trying to insult me? Let your imaginary boyfriend sue me. I don't care. Nathan is my son and I don't give a fuck what the paternity test says. Do not ever say something like that to me again, woman. Do not try to cross me! Do you understand?!" Lucas held my shoulders and shook me passionately.

I said, "Stop being obsessed with me! I'm not your property, and Nathan is my son, not yours. The sooner you figure this out, the better off for both of us."

Lucas wasn't at all listening. He was consumed by his anger and he couldn't listen to anything.

"Jerry Fisher works for me. Nobody knows about this, but now I'm disclosing it to you. It's my call to either make it or break it for your deal. If you dare to cross me again, I'll ask Jerry to invest all the money into Jessica's stupid art initiatives. And you'll be going back to your uncle, weeping like a..."

"Don't be ridiculous." I cut him off in an assertive voice. "If you don't make Jerry the Douchebag sign my contract tonight, I'll send Nathan away and I'll make sure you'll never, ever see him again!"

"You...!"

"You know what I'm capable of," I said, staring into his eyes.

"Are you threatening me with my son? Do you know what I'm capable of?" He pressed his body against me again.

I felt his erection.

At that moment, I realized one thing -

This asshole seriously wanted to fuck me in this fucking lavatory!

If I didn't seal the deal tonight with Jerry Fisher, my uncle would bite my head off. And the whole board will fucking laugh at me for being such an incompetent loser.

So I stopped struggling and let Lucas do his thing.

Lucas was kissing my nape. But he suddenly stopped as well.

He looked at me with surprise.

"What happened?" he asked.

I stared into his eyes and said with tears in my eyes, "If you want to humiliate me by taking advantage of me, do it. Let's get this over with. And for the last time, Lucas. Nathan is not your son. Shame on you!"

To my surprise, Lucas let go of me.

"Tracey," he said in a softened voice. "I didn't mean anything that I have said. I didn't want to humiliate you. I just want you to come back to me. Think about it. Together, we can start it all over again."

"Are you fucking kidding me? You're living with Jessica right now!"

"I can let her go away. I have never ever loved her. She's nothing to me. I haven't even touched her in the past few years. I seriously don't know why she was still around. But that really doesn't matter now. You're back. That changes everything. Listen, Tracey. I want to take you back. Nathan needs a father. You know it more than anything. Plus, the business world is full of ugly people and dirty inside jobs. I know you, Tracey. Deep down in your heart, you're a sweet, sweet woman. Trust me, you can't last one day in this trade..."

I can't believe it. It was so close. He had me at "Nathan needs a father" and he lost me at "You can't last one day in this trade".

How did I manage to put up with this man for so many years? Why do men have to be so arrogant and full of themselves? I don't get it. They just didn't know when to shut up.

So I raised my voice and said -

"Shut up, Lucas! I can close this deal by myself without your mansplaining everything! Now fucking get out of my way before I burn this whole fucking place down."

I stepped on his feet and ran out of the lavatory.

When I pushed the lavatory door open, I saw Jessica standing right outside.

"What are you doing here?!" She looked surprised.

"Try asking me about my blood type," I said.

"Why do I have to ask you about your blood type?" Jessica's stupid eyes were wide opening.

"I don't know," I shrugged. "I thought you were asking random people irrelevant questions for fun, so I just wanted to play along."

Jessica folded her arms and looked vexed.

"Where's Lucas?" she asked. "He was around here a few minutes ago..."

At that time, Lucas pushed the door open and walked out of the lavatory.

His eyes were on me the whole time. It seemed that he didn't even notice Jessica's presence.

"You..." Jessica pointed at me and asked with trembling lips. "What did you do to Lucas in there?!"

If I told her that nothing had happened, I would end her misery just like that. But I enjoyed Jessica being outrageous like this so much, so I said with a mysterious smile, "Well, you wouldn't want to know."

Jessica's face was turning white and red. I wouldn't be surprised if she passed out on the site.

But Lucas wasn't paying any attention to her.

Instead, he grabbed my arm and said, "Tracey, have some common sense. I can help you to close this deal. Do you really want to jeopardize your uncle's company just like this?"

I threw his arm away and said in a stern voice, "It's my father's company. My uncle is just running it temporarily."

"But your father was dead, Tracey." Lucas looked desperate. He must have thought that I was losing my mind.

"So, it's my company, which means it's none of your fucking business." I walked off without looking back, leaving Lucas and Jessica chewing their slow death.

Before I got into the VVIP lounge, I took a deep breath.

I knew what Jerry Fisher wanted. He wanted to humiliate and insult me.

I won't give him what he wants. That's for sure.

And I will walk away with what I want.

"Excuse me, Miss."

I looked back and saw a waiter standing behind me. He was about to walk into the lounge with a bottle of Henri IV Dudognon Cognac on a silver tray.

I saw in the corner of my eye that Lucas was walking to the lounge, with Jessica tagging along like a minion.

I opened the door for the waiter.

He instinctively stretched out his arm, trying to hold the door for me.

At that time, I nudged his elbow. The bottle of cognac fell off the tray and dropped to the ground.

Smash!

I wasn't a cognac person, but I knew it smelled like dollars evaporating in the air.

"Oh, mine!" Jessica's voice emerged from behind. "What have you done, Miss Stewart?! It's the most expensive cognac in the world! The bottle itself cost 30,000 dollars! You have to pay for it!"

"Pay for it?" I exclaimed, pretending to be scared. "But I don't have that much money!"
