“What’s wrong mother?” Kieran mumbles worriedly when he caught her staring at him.
Hillary shakes her head, “Nothing.”
Under the burning sun, two figures stood beside an extravagant car. A woman, with exquisite features one has never seen in the small City of Yuro and a child, owning such piercing and cold eyes that could be mistaken of a person who had lived longer than their forefathers and mothers.
His frosty eyes had a story to tell of resentment and anger and every person who passed near them could not avoid but glance and settle their eyes on them with admiration as some threw envious gazes, but despite the difference of their judgments, one thought occupied all their heads 'they must be foreigners' as they have never seen such people carrying strong and prominent features around the city. Just one close look and they could distinguish the strong gene connection between the young lady and the child in her arms.
The amusement park was like a whole new world paired with the sight of busy people moving in and out from the large entrance exit, wearing the same satisfied and warm smile imprinted on their faces.
Though the place was rowdy, the mixture of different muffled sounds combined together was just perfect and pleasant to her ears. She had always admired public places that don't require encoding and scanning the identity of anyone's status in life, it just felt more natural upon not knowing the tiniest detail of the people you come across with.
They weren't like the judging eyes of the socialites who were waiting for her to make a mistake to humiliate her. They all had nothing to do in life but raise their net worth and gain more power. She grew tired of trying to blend in with the manipulative society. She had long envied the serene and peaceful lives of others.
The chauffeur work his way to open and grip a black umbrella tightly around his left hand while the heiress's bag was occupying his right as he stood beside the young miss, extending his arm in the air to shelter his masters from the heat while also distancing himself from the heiress' body. He cannot spare any chances of giving wrong impressions towards the public as well as the young boy who had his every movement monitored.
Hillary smiled warmly towards her chauffeur, thanking him for the umbrella. It lessens the heat Kieran felt who despises this type of weather. It's already near summer it's not questionable why the weather’s burning.
"See, it isn't so bad after all." She whispers at her child's right ear, who seems distracted in her arms. He looked pretty much uneasy and worried than the man beside her.
The young boy who was busy throwing calculative glances at every man he sees within three meters away from where they stood glance back at her with hesitation in his eyes. "Mother, we can we go somewhere else?" His voice was soft with pure consideration, making her forehead crease. Was he worried this might be too crowded for them to enter?
The chauffeur's ears perk up in surprise at the young boy's statement as well as the assigned team who overheard the conversation through Lee's earpiece.
"Young miss, indeed it's best to come here when the amusement park has been reserved beforehand under the company's name." The chauffeur coaxes her, earning an approval glance from the young boy, looks like their young master also wants to persuade the heiress to discontinue the idea of entering the amusement park.
He decided he will use it as an advantage. They had ran a background check of the past crimes occurred in this public area and he's worried that the security team is not enough to stop any unpredictable accidents in the future. Their masters' safety is at risk at their sudden exposure to the society, the heiress will surely get a beating from her mother out of this.
City of Yuro may be small, but it’s known for the origin of bandits, expert mass murderers, assassins, and etc. . . . The list is too long for him to name one by one that only added to the amount of anxiousness he feels.
It's no doubt why people with status preferred living in luxurious and big countries such as Shangwei, which placed first in social reviews whether the reason was security or safety. The capital city of the country is where most of the wealthiest people reside, making the city itself harder for any residence or tourist to visit.
It's a good thing the Madam and Head Master preferred living here in Yuro for peace, away from the pressure of the world’s wealthiest socialites when the Marquez Corporation ranked fourth at the top five biggest companies chart in Shangwei while second here in Yuro because rather than safe the city itself was dangerous, crowded with greedy eyes who tolerates bloodshed over friendship. People in the city were inhuman killers who view each other as preys.
"Don't you want to go, little bun?" The heiress asks her son for confirmation, giving Lee a warning glance who looked away in an instant, surveying the fluid movements around them.
"I don't want to, mother." The young boy shook his head.
Hillary's brows met at the sudden change of his mind. "What's wrong? I thought you were excited."
He puffed his cheeks first before speaking, "It's not that mother. I just assumed there were no. . . .” His eyes turned blazing cold as his eyes follow the man who just passed near them, near enough to reach his mother in one arm length. “. . . Pests around"
Her eyes bulge at his rude insult, "Kieran!" She scolds.
Kieran frowned. What? He was telling the truth. He embraced his mother lovingly and buried his head near her neck, pretending to sulk to garner his mother's sympathy. He hates this place.
"What you said was not nice." She shakes the silent child in her arms in hopes of lending his ears to her, "Can you at least enjoy the day? The weather's nice."
As stubborn as her, he kept shaking his head, disagreeing to what she said but decisive enough to grasp unto his opinion without letting her know. No matter what she does to defend others in front of his face, it only made him angrier towards the peasants who effortlessly garnered the side of his mother against him.
"It's crowded and noisy, so it is expected that the whole area is filthy when the surfaces aren't disinfected after a person uses after another. Mother, can’t you feel it? It’s too hot, the sun will burn your skin and the amusement park is too open we can't trust these pes—people without running a background check." He paused, green eyes determined as it pierce through her hazel ones.
"The media who had published an article about you is just two blocks away. Once they found out you're here. . ." He cease once again, now with a hint of sorrow in his eyes. "They will end up ruining the day. We cannot simply ignore these possibilities. Overall we're at disadvantage mother, so I don't see any reason for me to enjoy such place."
After hearing his long speech, Hillary could only bat her lashes and close her parted lips, speechless for a minute. He was talking too fast without letting her process everything he had said that wasn't likely a child like him would say. Somewhat her son's nagging felt oddly familiar inside her head. She bites her lips at the unwanted memory of someone. Not again. She couldn’t hide the fact that he was starting to look and behave similarly as that man. He’s almost like his mini duplicate or clone.
Lee’s jaw hangs open, in dazed while nodding his head. His brain cells at work, processing the lists of facts their young master has provided. Excellent! Why didn't he think of those reasons when he was so persistent to do anything to stop the heiress from stepping out of the car in the first place? Or maybe his head was just too occupied to think what kind of future is waiting for him once he's out of the job. He couldn't help but applaud this young boy for his help. It will save them from extra scolding, even save them from losing their beloved jobs.
"Messy is good, in such crowded place I doubt the media will be able to find us anytime, plus they don't know my identity. I look different on work than I am now, little bun." She pinch the tip of his nose. "Where did you learn all these? Goodness, you're just three years old." She frowns back at him.
"Turning four in a month, mother. I'm not a child anymore." The young boy whines. He despises it when she still sees him as a child. He's working hard to excel things impossible in his age could achieved in order for her to acknowledge the fact that he’s not a child anymore. He’s more of a man he proudly sees he is.
As the limousine turned right, her chauffeur drove the car down the long road towards a famous residence where they will be arriving shortly. Hillary pinches the tip of her nose bridge in distress. The sound of rain against the roof of the car rang inside her ears. Her eyes fluttered open and surveyed the skyscraping-like buildings and the dark desolated alleys they passed. No wonder why the layout and expensive figure of the burgundy box in her hands looked very much familiar to her.One close look, she could already tell something was off.How could she possibly forget the majestic diamond dust and tiny gems attached around its silver shank? Her eyes feast at one of the rarest round diamonds at the center of the ring.‘Charlotte’s tears’ the legendary jewel whose famed existence started centuries ago that was passed on from one person to another as its value increased in the market. It's considered a sacred piece as its c
A WHITE LIMO stopped in front of the terminal building gate entrance, the newly polished car was wet from the heavy rain, yet it glimmers with the skies reflection against its hood and roof, highlighting more of its beauty. Hillary walks her tired feet towards the car and her men do the necessary things for her as blocking her from the rain with umbrellas and placing her luggage inside the trunk of the car. As she hops inside, the comforting scent of her favorite fabric condition evades her nostrils. She was calmer now that her body was comforted by the mini heater beside her. Mark Zheng closed the door seeing she was placed well and walks around the car to hop in from the other side. Without paying much attention she didn’t notice the car started moving to the wide highway along with the other vehicles. She’s here, again. She still couldn’t believe she’s placing a foot inside the country she despises and cursed a few years ago
KOVI THOROUGHLY swept his hair back with his fingers, the corner of his eyes twitching non-stop in irritation. He stood there, lips sealed and unmoving amidst the boisterous weather while he was targeted with personal questions his crewmates threw at him, yet not a single word went through his ears. He didn’t have the slightest interest or will to respond. After such a long flight, a nice and warm rest at home was all that matters to him right now. This was why as much as possible he avoids indulging himself socially with others. He despises getting the slightest attention, let alone being surrounded or accompanied by a crowd just as he is now. He breathes, his exhaustion was kicking in. He wasn’t the type of outgoing person everyone thinks he is as their first impression towards him. Every person he comes across would assume he sleeps in one country after another. The fact that he had natural dark skin doesn’t make him an adventurous person.
Two slender legs gracefully marched down the broad raven black jet bridge followed by ten pair of combat boots owned by a group of men who’re walking inharmoniously above the deep crimson red wool carpet prepped to welcome the passengers that has a simple golden designed line at the edges. The audible sounds of discrete footsteps were quarrelling against each other over the lull silence, clattering and bouncing against the four crook corners where not even a single human breath was heard, allowing ten pair of attentive ears to feel and hear the soft vibration deriving out of the metal walls and the distinct noises of vital engines at the bottom of their foots, below the material they’re stepping. The person taking the lead in front who possessed an authoritative presence dissimulating in the shadows simply raise a hand to push her hair back. Her eyes set straight like a high-profiled elite alongside her intimidating presence as she lend her ha

Just as she thought of the bad weather, her body instantly felt ill as she was nauseous enduring the different smell of men scented perfumes inside the plane for hours. A strange combination of different strong scents she wasn’t accustomed to for years, making her forehead ache when the smell had repeatedly travelled her through her nostrils. She felt hysterically upset to have set aside the warning calls she sensed just for the prosperity of the company’s future in fear of bringing shame to the hardships of her ancestors.Albeit the unexplainable fear within her, her cold hands wrap around her stomach as she witness another brief and swift bright flash from the darkened sky. After the lightning struck, where no one know who and what it shot, the dark and upset sky rumbled and roared across the city followed by the sudden fall of heavy rain.Like trumpets, the sky rejoiced thunderously. It was a terrifying sight to witness in pair of her
Seven hours since the plane took off from Yuro International Airport and as the plane reaches its cruising altitude. A deep masculine voice burst out from the intercom. It was the pilot that called out to his passengers for his brief announcement. “May I have your attention, passengers? This is your captain speaking. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen welcome to Rightwing Flight 85A, non-stop from Yuro to Xei, Shangwei. Checking our time it’s 2:41 pm. Unlucky at the turn of events, the weather looks rough, but we are expecting to land in Xei International Airport approximately twenty minutes behind of schedule. If the weather cooperates we should get a great view of the city as we descend. Until then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of the flight.” After the dark rigid voice ceased from echoing at the intercom, a bright chime bell melody followed and skip to the air in harmony. The heavy silence once again reign the entire cabin. Mark Zhe
Her mouth was gaping wide open at the full sight of him. Goodness, her eyes have been blessed. She couldn’t concentrate at keeping her eyes up when the sight below was a pleasurable distraction. Leaning her head back and biting her bottom lip, she whistles, “I think I want to enjoy the view more,” she wiggles her brows at him. Wearing an amused smile on his lips, he cross his arms and run his tongue between his lips, “Do you now?“ he slyly responded and walk his way back towards the bottom edge of the bed, bending down with his two hands sinking above the thick comforter. His bulky arms and shoulders were flexing from the slightest movement he makes. He was towering her, “I prefer the view from last night.”She restrains herself from smiling at the sight of his unsophisticated sultry gaze rampaging inside his burning and passionate deep green eyes. Oh, no baby. I know wha
The astonishing beauty of the darkness was his sole comfort. Obscurity was his safe place, it felt serene and quiet like nothing’s ever coming to his way to seek his damaged self. It wasn’t the dark that strangled him, but the slightest light does. The little hope that he’s been holding on was slowly and gently drifting away from him. After all these years he carried that small faith within him with utmost care, but why won’t it cherish him as much as he does? His throat went numb at the thirst and inevitable temptation while looking at the bottle on top of the coffee table in front of him. His shattered and mended heart needed it more as to temporarily put it itself to rest. After arguing with himself for a whole minute, his resolution was all that matters for him to reach the bottle open. He toss away his conscience and listened to his own free will as he pours himself another shot, staring at his miserable reflection in his glass. It was ne
