The lightning bolts

Hayley's P.O.V

He reached out his hand, and I took it, he gently pulled me off the bed, as he spoke,

"I must have killed you without intending to, my apologies for that. The lightning bolts weren't meant for you, but for that blabbermouth." He said, pointing towards the guy with golden–red eyes. "I'm Zeus, welcome to my house."

I couldn't contain my laughter, and he stared at me, cocking a brow. "Seriously? I thought I was dead, but, this joke is way too funny. Zeus? You're Zeus?"

A woman who hadn't spoken since walked towards me, she wore a white lace dress and her eyes were silver? Her hair an inky black. Her skin pale beige, like the rest of them.

"I'll take it from here, father." Her marvelous voice held secrets untold.

He nodded and moved back. "Hi, I'm Artemis. I know this is hard to believe, but, you're not dead. And like he said, he's Zeus. And that's his wife, Hera, and his brother, Poseidon." She said, pointing at the woman, and the huge man–guy sitting on the king sized bed.

This all sounded crazy, but, for some reason, I found myself believing her words. Then it hit me! The man guy had a trident beside him, and that explains their odd coloured skin. And  eye colors. But, I still needed proof. Proof I wasn't dead, proof they were gods.

"Prove it."

The guy with golden–red eyes walked forward, and stretched his hand towards me, suddenly, his hand brightened, and hot rays of light, passed through it. As they glowed harder, I saw it! The sun. Apollo wielded the power of the sun. That explained his eye color.

"Apollo!" I exclaimed, wide-eyed.

She nodded, then he withdrew his hand, and the sun disappeared.

"Oh my God!" This was the luckiest day of my life!. I turned towards Zeus and Hera, bowing courteously, they smiled. I turned back to the rest of them.

The most beautiful woman I'd ever seen stared back at me, with a warm smile. She had white hair, emerald eyes, and pale beige skin. She wore a white dress.

"Aphrodite. Goddess of love and beauty."  She spoke with a tender voice.

Another had dark hair, grey eyes. She wore a black basic bandeau. Her hair was twisted up into a bun, she was also beautiful.

"You're?" I asked curiously.

"Athena."

"Ohh" I exclaimed. " The one who cursed Medusa."

"Well, if you put it that way." She grimaced.

A guy moved forward, he wore a tank top, and Jeans. He held a golden winged staff with two snakes entwined around it. He had brown hair, and obsidian eyes.

Which kinda reminded me of the girl I'd met, with rainbow colored hair. Was she also a god?!

"I'm Hermes" he said, smiling, with his hand stretched out for an handshake. I took his hand. He was surprisingly good looking, for a god of thieves.

He finally let go of my hand, and there was another beautiful woman I'd noticed, she was young, like Hera, but older than Athena and the rest. She wore a green sleeved dress, and her eyes were green, the kind of green healthy plants had, her hair, golden. Then it dawned on me.

She was "Demeter!" I blurted out. Persephone's mother. She nodded, giving my shoulders a light pat.

Since I'd come to recognize every single gods in the room, I still had one more question.

"I still need proof. Am I alive? Or dead?" All this felt like a dream.

Suddenly, Poseidon—as I've come to realize, stood up from the bed, I gasped at his height. I looked like an ant, compared to his elephant size, he was tall, and I found myself reaching just beneath his chest.

He pulled me towards him, his hand cupping my chin, as his thumb went back to stroking. His lips came down fast on mine, as he leaned down. They all gasped, staring at us, shocked. I was beyond shocked, but, suddenly, I found myself loving the tender feel of his lips on mine. My eyes shut themselves on their own accord, and I wrapped my hands around his neck, pulling him down, deepening the kiss.

His hand gripped my waist, pulling me closer to him. His lips ravished mine like he'd owned them, his tongue found it's way into my mouth without permission. He sucked on my lower lips lightly. The kiss held words untold. Pain, yearning. I was surprised none of them in the room, tried to stop him from smouldering my mind with kisses.

"He pulled away, his voice husky as he spoke, "is that enough proof? That you're alive? "

I tried to keep my voice steady, as I'd gone breathless, and my voice raspy. I guess it was enough to prove I was alive and breathing!

" I guess so" I replied, pulling away from his grasp.

"Show her around." Hera spoke.

Artemis led me out of the room, and the others followed, except Zeus, Hera, Poseidon and Apollo.

"You seem to like this mortal, Poseidon." Hera mocked.

"She reminds me of someone" Poseidon responded, as his pause hung a few minutes.

" Do not bring a mortal into the businesses of gods!" Zeus warned.

"I'm afraid that can't be possible! If Hera wasn't here, we both know you would have wanted that mortal for yourself. And we both know you play the games of including mortals in god's affairs well." Poseidon scowled.

"Your lightning bolts are still in her." Apollo added.

"I know"

"Why?!" Hera asked.

" It seemed to be the reason why she is alive. It's now like a life source for her. If I take it out, she dies. She's a demi god now."

"What! That means she can wield the lightning bolt's powers?"  Poseidon asked.

"Fortunately, she can, unfortunately, whenever she tries to harness it's powers, she'd explode"

" Explode? You're killing her all over again?!" Hera asked perplexed.

"She's a mortal, with a god's powers. It's too much for her. Too much it could kill her."

Apollo paced the room restlessly, before coming to a solid conclusion.

" Then we won't tell her about the powers in her. We'd keep her here till we figure out a way to either siphon it out of her, or prevent it from killing her."

Poseidon walked out of the room, back to the living room. Athena sat on the couch.

"Where is she?" He asked.

"She's with Artemis."

He walked away, towards her room.
