Hera sprang up from her knees, as if sensing something, she looked towards us, as she exclaimed, " Zeus, you've killed a mortal!".
We all gasped at Hera's words. Zeus's angers tended to do more harms than good, we all rushed out of the mansion, except Zeus and Poseidon. and there she was, sprawled on the ground, lifeless. Apollo knelt beside her, after some assessment, he turned towards us.
"She's cold. It struck her heart. She's d-" before he could finish his words, Aphrodite clasped a hand on his lips.
"Don't say it!"
"Take her inside" Hera ordered.
Apollo lifted her off the ground, as he walked back inside. He took her to Zeus who sat in his room. I could see the guilt in his eyes. He killed this innocent mortal anyways.
"This is the mortal you killed." Apollo said, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
Zeus gestured his hand towards the bed, and Apollo laid her down on it.
"What do we do now?" I asked. Surprisingly, Poseidon was nowhere to be found, maybe he'd ran back into the sea.
"Well, prepare a befitting burial for her, right here on Olympia. And cover her tombstone in gold."
"What!, You killed a mortal, and instead of thinking of ways to bring her back, you're talking about adorning her tombstone with gold!" Hera spoke, her patience looked like it was holding on by a thread.
"The ferryman must have taken her soul to the underworld by now, there's not so much I can do. Besides if she got struck by my lightning, it only means her death was inevitable. She must have been destined to die anyways" Zeus shrugged.
He killed a mortal, and his only excuse was a predestined death. Poseidon walked in, he stared at the lifeless body on the bed, he moved towards her and pain, confusion and surprise swirled in his eyes.
"That's the mortal?" He asked, kneeling beside her, holding her hands.
"Yes. She- father wants us to give her a befitting burial." Apollo replied, the anger present in his voice.
"What! No! Zeus, do something. You can bring her back, please!" He pleaded, turning towards Zeus.
We all stared at him, confused. No one knows why Poseidon wanted a mortal back from the dead.
"Even if I wanted to, it's too late. The ferryman must have taken her soul already."
"Yes, but she could still be taken back. Her soul is only irretrievable when she's in the underworld, with him."
"Please Zeus, you need to do something.!" Hera pleaded.
"Okay! Fine!" He finally got up from the couch, striding towards us, when he got to the bed, Poseidon let go of her hands and moved beside us. We all moved back. Zeus leaned over her face, as his hands held her cold body, his lips above hers, his voice a mere whisper,
"Come back!" He called for her soul with a resounding authority, as his voice thundered, his whole body glowed, and he pressed his lips softly against hers, as rays after rays of light passed through Zeus from his lips into her, the light wrapped her entire body and lightning sparks glowed at her chest.
Zeus took his lips off hers, and the lights went out. Hera glared at him, as if to tell him never to resuscitate a dead person with his lips ever again. Poseidon walked back towards her, he held her hands back, as he stared at Zeus, disappointed.
"She's still cold."
"Well then, Hades has her already. A befitting burial it is!." Zeus proclaimed.
Then suddenly, the lightning sparks glowed bright, and spread into her entire body, and she opened her eyes, they glowed brightly before the sparks disappeared. And she sneezed.
"She's back! Zeus, she's back!" Poseidon exclaimed, as he cupped her chin. And suddenly she pulled back, as if she'd woken up from a nightmare, and screams broke out of her lips.
Hayley's P.O.V
It felt like a dream, as I drifted off into the abyss of darkness. My soul lingered between limbo and the underworld. I was slowly being pulled away, down into the underworld. But suddenly, a voice whispered, 'come back' and lights engulfed my entire being.
And the very lightning which had brought about my demise, pulled me back. And I sneezed. My eyelids still heavy from the sleep of no return. Then slowly, my brain began to register the atmosphere I was in. A huge man-guy, held my hands, and his excitement about my Awakening couldn't be contained.
They were strangers I'd never seen, I pulled away, and before I could stop myself, I was screaming hard. Suddenly, he pulled me towards him, clasping his huge hands around my mouth, to muffle the screams. They all stared at me, wide-eyed, as if another wonder of the world had just being unraveled.
His skin was pale beige, soft and smooth, as I felt his skin touch mine. I couldn't help but stare at him. His body looked like they'd been forged from steel and iron. His arms bulged in a mouth-watering way. He was very large and broad shouldered. And that lustrous jet black hair was something else entirely.
His eyes were the color of a powerful storm coming in, holding both danger and beauty. Something between blue and grey. His lashes long and thick. His incredibly toned and well defined muscles had me licking my lips subconsciously as they rippled.
"Easy jelly, easy. You're safe. You're back." He said with a voice so beautiful it sounded like the waves of a calm sea.
One part of my brain told me to make a run for it, while another part was perfectly okay with the way his thumb stroked my chin. There was no use running anyways. I probably doubt if I could make it to the door. I had questions, and I needed answers.
I could swear I saw my soul depart from my body, how was I back-was I? Or was this part of the underworld?. And the odd looking men and women standing right in front of me could be proof I was fully dead! Or was this the luxury part of the underworld? Wow, this place was definitely beautiful.
A guy with shoulder-length sun licked hair, and beautiful golden-red eyes, cleared his throat, I think he found the atmosphere awkward, as much as I did.
"Sorry to put you in this situation, it was all my fault, and I deeply apologize."
I think the big guy sensed I was no longer tensed, he took his hands away, and I drew in a breath.
A beautiful looking woman who looked like the queen from medieval times walked towards me, her hair looked like they were made from silk, her skin pale beige, she took my hands gently, as she sat beside me.
"I'm sorry you had to go through this, would you please forgive Zeus for what he's done?"
Forgive Zeus? Woah, I must definitely be dead. Why would I need to forgive Zeus?
" What has Zeus done? I don't think this had anything to do with him. It was all Zara's fault! She asked me to look for that stupid House of Zeus" I held her hands tightly,
"please tell me, what part of the underworld is this? Is this heaven perhaps? Where all the righteous souls go?""I admit I hadn't been to church for three Sundays now. It wasn't my fault, I was angry with my stupid vlog channel. Would you please help me beg the supreme one to let me keep staying in this paradise?"
They all stared at me confused, another beautiful woman behind chuckled in amusement.
"She thinks she's dead."
"She was" Hermes replied.
Then, a man I hadn't noticed was standing in the room moved towards me, his skin was a color between pale beige and white, it illuminated the room, he was huge, and broad shouldered, almost like the man-guy. his chest-length beard, white, his hair a waist length. His presence heralded unspoken authority. Was he the supreme one?
Artemis P.O.VInside the court on mount Olympus the gods gathered for an impromptu meeting, I watched them all seated and surrounding the hall that had its chairs floating amidst the clouds. The expressions painted on each god's face holding wariness.“why are we gathered here exactly?” one of the gods asked. a god walked forward, his floral dress trailing behind him in a cascade of flurries, the ivy wreath on his head complementing the otherworldly tone of his skin. “The reason is simple. I have brought two cases before the court. One which demands urgency.”Zeus scowled, not liking the idea of a court meeting, “and what might it be, Dionysus? To have us all leaving private matters.”“I might have to break one of your sacred rules, Zeus. Do I have your permission? To proceed?” He uttered the words with caution and I could faintly guess what sacred rule of Zeus he was about to break.“Speak on child. I do not have all the time in the world.” He grated, his annoyance blossoming.“Bu
It had been three days since Apollo had walked out on me during our 'make out' session. I'd tried to suppress the burning pain I'd felt within. Heaven knows I liked him and I had thought he liked me too, but I was wrong. So wrong. Letting him touch me was as a mistake. A very big one. He didn't come home neither did he attempt to apologize for his behavior. He left. Left me to deal with the aftermath of it all. So, I went back to my daily routine. Binge watching movies and eating, and spending time talking to the only person in the world who'd care to listen–Zara. It was one of the many days when I was in my room rewatching the vampire diaries when a hard knock on the door caught my attention. I climbed down the bed and hurried towards the door hoping it was either Artemis, Hermes or Apollo perhaps. Pushing the door open i—"oh," I whispered. The little glimmer of happiness on my face diminishing. "Not happy to see me?" He purred. "Go away Posey," I sighed weakly walking back into
I walked in. Feeling tired, drained and exhausted. Being away from Hayley felt like death. It slowly drained me but, Artemis had begged me to promise her I wouldn't be a problem to Hayley and I promised her. Poseidon told me she made him promise to do so too, so we all decided to pick a specific time to stay at home, and would avoid contact with her as much as possible. But as I saw her, my resolution was shaken. "Hayley" I said with a frigid smile. She noticed I looked too haggard she got up from where she sat, and walked towards me,"Hey, what's wrong? You look–""I look what!?" I snapped, angrily, I wasn't angry at her, I was angry at myself. I couldn't control my emotions and if I stayed too long, I would never want to leave until I was deep inside her. I walked away to my room, to try and calm myself. What was wrong with him? She was just being concerned. She tried to contain her anger but
"Argh!" I groaned, clutching my head tight. I must have had a lot to drink last night. I grunted, trying to shift the heavy weight off me."What the hell?" I cursed under my breath after few failed tries. I opened my eyes and turned to the direction of the heavy thing. "Oh!" I gasped. It wasn't just anything! It was someone! The sun hadn't risen yet, but I could see it was about to. The curtains blocked most of the morning light. this wasn't right, we were drunk, outside, by the seashore! But this was a bed!"Don't move." The person groaned, clutching me tight. "Where the heck are we?"No no no! That voice! "Apollo! Why the fuck are you here? Behind me?" I asked. Pushing him off. I got up, lifting off the sheets to be sure I was intact.I heaved a sigh of relief after noticing I was okay. Phew!. Oh, right! Back to my question!"How did we get here!?" I as
“now you use my words against me.” I said.He winked, "please, posey.” I said, pouting."Posey?” he asked.I grinned, winking. Apollo moved forward, “you know, I was going to ask, what does that word 'fuck' means? You use it quite more often.”Artemis, Poseidon and I eyed him wearily,"What use is your stay amongst mortals if you can't grasp or understand what their words mean?” Artemis asked.“just asking okay? I'm too busy focusing the sun in the right place to stop it from burning the mortals I couldn't concentrate on their vocabulary.” he replied.“okay. It's just a curse word. Can we please get back to the matter at hand?”Poseidon sighed, “fine! I'd let you go out through my room, only if you agree to doing whatever I ask”What! I couldn't agree to this. What if he asks me to get my mouth on his–No! or much worse, my hand! I h
this pool belongs to me" he repeated again."What! Why? how?" I asked. The door opened and Artemis walked in, "there you are! She said, grinning.""So, Artemis, I see you forgot to tell her this was my property." He said, his eyes gleaming mischievously. She sighed, " Hayley, this pool was made for Poseidon. Zeus gave him this spot as his private spot. The fishman also missed his habitat. And I don't think you can use the term 'property' for a pool in Zeus's house.""Fish man!?" He scoffed, "the fact that I rule the seas doesn't mean I'm a fish.""But you live under water, so, you're a fish." I said.He hummed, "well, fish or not, you're in my pool. And there's not so much between you and I, other than this pool of blue water."I gasped, as I went back to covering up myself with my hand. Artemis noticed and she walked over to where I'd dropped
