Chapter 17

It's been two weeks since the incident occurred and I went back to work. There weren't any threats since. Nor did anyone approach me. Alex was leaving in two days. I was scared to see him go but he had to return to work. He told me he would visit in a couple of weeks.

I placed my bag down and walked inside the living room. It was 3:06 pm. What a day at work!

"Alex. I'm home." I took off my shoes and placed them on the stand.

"Alex?" I called as I walked into the bedroom.

Oh, he probably went out.

As I walked out of the room someone grabbed me by the neck and slammed me against the wall.

The man wore a black mask over his face so I couldn't see who it was.

One of his hands was wrapped around my neck as he choked me.

"End of the line." He snarled.

I tried to pry his hand away but he didn't budge. The man dipped into his pocket and revealed a gun. You've got to be fucking joking. Tears brimmed in my eyes. So this is it for me? I placed my hand on my stomach.
