Thirty

Sophia's POV

It was already 9 PM and mom had locked up. Since dad traveled, we would always make sure we locked the doors early to avoid any intruder from coming in. While we sat in the living room, we heard a knock.

"Who could be at the door at this hour?" Mom asked and I shrugged. I wasn't expecting anyone to visit except Alexios.

"Could it be him?" I asked when we suddenly heard his voice.

"It is me, Alexios. Please open the door." His voice had me sprinting toward the door as I pulled it open to let him inside.

"Hey baby." He whispered as he looked at me smiling. I hugged him, I felt like he needed a hug. Although he was smiling, he looked unhappy, sad.

"I am going to give you kids some privacy but don't go making kids in my absence." Said mom which made Alexios chuckle while I blushed scarlet. Can she not embarrass me?

"I missed you." He whispered as his hands stayed wrapped up around my waist.

"And I missed you too." I told him truthfully. Although our day hadn't gone as planned
