The howls coming from the wolves of Dark Moon Pack continued to echo around the vicinity where the Pack was located which included the very forest where Thyra and her family ventured into in hopes of catching sight of some of the werewolves before the full moon and also to see how they shift to their wolf forms.
Thyra who had gone off towards the cliff was excited when she heard the howls, making her quicken her pace. Once she was on the cliff, she could see the city where Dark Moon Pack had bought as their own. The City of Wolflinia.
The howlings stopped for a brief moment and everywhere became eerily quiet except for a few people who walked around the empty streets indicating that the werewolves had gone to prepare for their transformation which could be happening any moment from now as the moon that was still small earlier was slowly showing its full face and shape albeit the gloomy clouds hovered over the people. The snow that was still falling gentle drops now painted everywhere white with its white and cold flakes.
Thyra took a few pictures of the street as there was no wolf in sight, enjoying the tranquility that enveloped everywhere as she enjoyed every bit of what she was seeing unbeknownst to her that the peaceful environment she and her family and other humans had ventured into was soon going to be a bloodied danger zone.
Seconds ticked into minutes as the dark clouds began to clear the path for the rising moon to come out. The sound of a loud bell rang in the distance signifying that the time was sharp midnight. And just as the bell rang and the moon touched the grounds of the country, the howls coming from werewolves began to echo and reverberate around the city, and soon, the owners of the land started to emerge from their houses, their eyes a light tint of golden, looking almost yellow.
These were the lower-ranked werewolves. Thyra noted. She had researched werewolves to know that they had different eye colors. The Alpha of any Pack usually has red eyes while the Betas are usually endowed with deep shades of golden eyes.
Thyra watched with fascination in her eyes as one of them started to shift. It was a man who was joined by two other men, and then, they swiftly went on all fours with their sharp long nails elongating as their furs slowly appeared before it covered every part of their skin. Their furs were a deep shade of brown and their fore and hind legs were covered with black furs representing the name of their pack and their primal dark nature. The werewolves let out a loud howl and Thyra watched as they moved around with their fangs at full display.
Just as Thyra was watching the werewolves, she caught sight of the cars that sped into the city, and alighting from them were men clad in their black suits. From where she stood, she could see their broad shoulders and the expanse of their chests, their clothes almost looking as if they would tear because of their well-built body.
She had always known werewolves to be very masculine and muscular in all the right places, but these men were even more muscular in physique. Another feature she admired about them, was their sharp and handsome faces. This was enough reason for her to spend all day watching them.
Still admiring the handsome features of the men, two other cars pulled near the other cars. Alighting from them were two men even more handsome than werewolves she had ever set her eyes on.
She noted how these two men looked like gods walking out of a fantasy world, but more precisely, the man who walked in front. His features were even more sharp with his well-chiseled face. His ink-black hair cascaded down his shoulders. He was a beauty to behold. Truly this man has surpassed all werewolves she had seen before.
Could he be their Alpha? Thyra wondered as she exhaled while her eyes continued to stay glued on the man. Immediately the men in black suits saw him approach, they all bowed their heads respectfully at him as they chorused a greeting that she couldn't hear, "Good evening, Alpha Ryker."
Alpha Ryker smirked and turned to question the Z clan men, "There's no good in the evening, though it would be in the coming hours when I shall paint the streets red."
"What is the progress, Beta Alvan?" Alpha Ryker turned his head to the side, enough to look at Beta Alvan who had followed Alpha Ryker after calling the Z clan.
Alvan inclined his head to the side as a bow and answered, "My Alpha, there are some wolves who have turned and have already started to hunt. What shall I do about them?"
"Kill them," Came the immediate reply of Alpha Ryker. He added in a hard tone, "They should know better than hunt before their Alpha."
"Yes, My Alpha," Beta Alvan obliged. He turned to the Z clan and waved his hand for them to go ahead and carry out the order of their Alpha. He didn't want to imagine what more was going to happen tonight.
The werewolves who had turned on the first appearance of the moon were the low-ranked members also known as the floor members whose wolf's were weak and were bound to change on the first appearance of the moon. High-ranked werewolves had greater control over their wolves to be able to control their turning on the first appearance of the moon, unless it was a full moon where they would have no choice but to succumb to their primal instincts.
Without wasting a second, five men from the Z clan stepped forward, brandishing their guns as they pointed them at the werewolves who had shifted and were out to hunt as they scattered around the vicinity. This confused Thyra who had been watching their every move and was also taking pictures of everything.
Not a moment later, gunshots resounded around the place as all the werewolves who are ten in total fell limp to the ground, the bullets killing them instantly as it was no ordinary bullet but a bullet created with mistletoe, a deadly poison that weakened and seized the muscles of werewolves immediately they are shot before killing them. Because of the bullet's fast effect on werewolves, they were rare to be found and could only be used on the order of the Alpha of the Pack.
"Oh my goodness!" Thyra muffled a scream, knowing fully well that werewolves had sharp hearing ability. She took a few shots of what happened and stood there watching with a slow surge of panic that slowly built up in her body.
Just as she was there staring at the scene, the sharp eyes of the Z clan men went in the direction where Thyra stood on the cliff. Thyra noticed this too but didn't falter her gaze as it looked as if they were engaged in an eye battle.
One of the Z clan men muttered to his colleagues, "She is going to be the first hunt of Alpha Ryker."
On hearing this, Alpha Ryker's eyes quickly spun in the direction where the Z clan men stared with a glare so ferocious that if it were possible, Thyra would have fallen dead immediately. It was as if he was marking his prey to be his first kill that night.
Thyra let out a gasp when she noticed the dangerous red eyes that stared at her as if he could see through her. She could dictate the anger from the expression of the man. But what did she do to receive such a deadly stare?Wait! Red eyes! Thyra internally screamed as the realization hit her. The man she had been admiring was an Alpha. They were the only ones among werewolves with that eye color. At least that was what she knew from the research and discoveries she had made.Thyra couldn't believe she just saw the Alpha of the pack. They were almost invisible and were not always seen anywhere. But now, she just saw him. She saw him with a dangerous glare in his eyes directed towards her. What did she do? She questioned herself in confusion before her eyes widened in surprise.Could it be because she saw them kill their pack members? Was it a pack rivalry? Things like that were always done in hiding and she had just witnessed it.Oh no! She needed to get out of sight before she became

The night's breeze was just as it used to be in every winter season. Cool and chilly but at the same soothing on one's skin as it showed signs of welcoming a new and fresh snow that had started falling in gentle drops. The trees were not left out from experiencing the touch of the wind and the snow as their branches moved in harmony with their gentle whispers and whistles, adding to the thrill of the night as the sound of the scrunching footsteps on the dry grasses accompanied them in their echo inside the dense forest.Oblivious of the change in the environment as the thrill of what they came for put out the forest fears they should be wary of by transversing into the barely illuminated forest almost before the time of midnight, the footsteps belonging to the four people could be heard walking deeper into the forest with heavy and thick coats draped over their body as a shield from the cold. Not long after, the four people came to stand on a clearing where one could see the vast land
Alpha Ryker Donovan did not immediately leave the meeting room after Beta Alvan left to carry out his order. In the silence of the now dark room where he had switched off the lights, he listened to the continuous howls of his Pack members. The very Pack he vowed to rule according to the rules he created himself while discarding the former rules set out by his Late Father and the Wolf Elders. He was their King, and he was here to rule and not to abide by the rules. To rule not only his Pack but also the humans and the other Packs. He wanted to be the ultimate Alpha King of all.Long ago, the history of the existence of werewolves was not yet known among humans. It was as if they were not in existence. But this was not until the late Alpha, who was his father decided to expose their existence. This act of his father he had always termed as being stupid and incapable of ruling had caused them to become the center of exhibition to humans. All these began a decade ago when on every full m
