Blake’s POV

“You know you shouldn't panic too much about him?” I try to make it a joke but I see how well it doesn’t go down. She glares at me with those brown eyes, pressing her lips firmly into a thin line.

“Why do you do that?” Her arms fold across her chest

“Do what?”

“It doesn’t matter.” She mutters turning to look out the car window.

“If you think it matters Lana, then it matters. Talk to me."

Those brown eyes fall back on me, “I can’t help it you know.”

I knew what she was talking about. She meant the mate bond and I knew I couldn’t change that. It would make her feel things for him even if I didn’t like it. It also had me questioning what she felt for me. She never spoke about it.

“We are heading back to Lonecrown now, okay.”

“Thanks” she mumbles and looks back at the witch in the back seat. “What about her?”

“Personally, I would kill her, but it’s not my call and we have the little problem of the Blood Bond.”
