“You don't have to come with me, Cornelius. I'll be fine on my own" Cornelius scoffed. “Do you think I care about your wellbeing? If it were up to me, I would have fed you to the lycans but I know Ares would be mad at me. I have no idea why he cares for you" Myla paused. “He doesn't care for me, he just sees me as a…. Pet" Cornelius rolled his eyes. “Whatever," Myla sighed. How the hell was she going to get rid of Cornelius now? She looked up and glanced at the rooftops and couldn't see Noah and Luane anymore. She was about to panic, thinking they were coming to meet her, when she spotted them in the shadows. “We have got a message from your mother" Noah mouthed. She nodded and gave him an okay sign before turning back to Cornelius. “Erm…. I really need to pee now" Cornelius stopped walking and turned to her. “You need to pee? Can't you hold it in till we get back?" Myla shook her head. “Unless you want me to pee in front of you
Ares grabbed Cornelius by the neck and slender him across the wall. “I thought I told you to be with her at all times?” Ares said it calmly but his eyes were filled with fury. “I was but then she said she had to pee. I couldn’t go with her” Ares tightened his hand around Cornelius’ neck. “I gave you an order that no matter what, you shouldn’t leave her side. Why did you disobey me?” Cornelius tried to talk but Ares’ fingers around his neck was making it difficult. “Ares, why do you care so much? It’s just a slave” Ares threw Cornelius on the ground then turned to Isabel. The look in his eyes made her take a step back. “Speak again and you are going to wish you were the one missing” Isabel gulped as she nodded. “Gather the troops, Cornelius. Search the whole kingdom, leaving no stone untouched. Get me a horse, I’ll go look for her right now” Cornelius nodded and immediately carried on with his orders. Minutes later, he came back with
Cornelius sighed as he watched Ares flip the page of the book he was reading. “If you have something to say, you can say it and stop sighing like your family was killed” Ares said calmly without turning to him. “You almost lost yourself, Ares. You know why you never let your wolf out but you did because of that human slave? I don’t get you” Ares sighed as he closed the book and placed it on the table in front of him. “She’s my responsibility, Cornelius. You of all people know I would do something like this if you went missing so what is the problem?” Cornelius ran his fingers through his hair out of frustration. “You care for her way differently then you care for me and you know that, it’s very evident. Just because she went missing, you asked the whole troop to go look for her? She’s a slave, Ares, it’s not normal” Ares tilted his head at him. “Well I’m not normal and I tend to do things that are out of the ordinary. I don’t think I have to
Before Ares could say anything, Isabel barged into the room with wide eyes. “Oh, I heard she had woken up so I came to see her" Ares turned to her with a tilt of his head. “And how does that concern you?" Isabel's eyes widened. “Oh…. I'm your future wife, anything that concerns you, concerns me. You cut our date Short because of her so the least I can do is come see how she's doing" Myla turned to Ares with wide eyes. He had left his date because of her? Ares sighed then turned to Myla. “Now that you're better. Get ready and get dressed, we have somewhere to be" And with that, he walked out of the room with Isabel behind him. Myla laid on the bed for a while before climbing out with a sigh. She couldn't help but still wonder why Ares cared for her so much. Was it because….. he liked her? Myla shook that thought away. They haven't known each other for long so that couldn't be the case but if that was indeed the case then she had the upper hand here. If he liked her
Isabel suddenly turned to Ares and hugged him. “I'm sorry but you know how awfully jealous I become because of you, Ares. I love you so much and I hate the fact that you treat this slave better than you do to me so I wanted her gone and I still want her gone" Ares sighed as he removed Isabel's arms from around him. “Isabel, you of all people should know how much I hate it when others touch what belongs to mine and you tried to have my slave killed?" She shook her head frantically. “No…. At least, not at first. I had asked the man to sell her off to the Lycans but when I found out you were looking for her I got more angry and…." Ares grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up as his eyes instantly turned red. Cornelius and Myla stared at him in shock. “You have been getting on my nerves recently and I'm starting to loose it with you. One more slip off and not only will our marriage be off but our kingdom will go against yours and surely, you don't think you'll win" He thr
Myla turned to Luane and Noah then grabbed their hands. “Don't worry, we'll be out of here soon" They smiled at me and nodded. “Just lead him on till you can finally stab him in the back" Luane advised. “Don't worry about…." “Myla?" She froze as soon as she heard Cornelius Voice behind her. She slowly turned and saw him walking towards her with a confused look on his face. She turned back around and heaved a sigh of relief when she didn't see Luane or Noah then she turned back to Cornelius. “What are you doing here?" Cornelius raised an eyebrow at her. “I should be asking you that. Ares asked me to come look for you and that you were going to meet your uncle. So why are you here?" Myla scratched the back of her head as she thought of a lie. She had never really been good at lying but she hoped she would be able to convince him. “Erm… I came looking for my…. My hair pin… yeah my hair pin. I seem to have dropped it somewhere here and it's very important to me so I h
Ares stood up from the table with a sigh. “Are you done eating?” He questioned as he turned to Myla. She nodded and hastily stood up. Her eyes drifted towards his plate which made her frown. “You didn’t touch your food, are you okay?” Ares tilted his head at her with a smirk. “Do not worry about me little slave” “Why can’t I worry about you? I asked you to be my friend, remember? And friends care for one another” Ares walked over to her without breaking eye contact. “When did I agree to be your friend? So you think it’s right for a slave and it’s master to be friends?” She shook my head honestly. “No it isn’t but I would like to be your friend” He tilted his head. “Why?” “Because you seem like you need one” His eyes suddenly softened and Myla felt like she had gotten to him but he just turned away from her and walked away. “We can’t be friends so don’t hope on it” He muttered as he walked past her. Myla sighed. Why did he have to be so difficult? She turned around
Myla sat down on the bed with a sigh. After what had happened, Ares and Cornelius had made her stay in the room while they went for a meeting and Myla quickly found out that her day to day life would be boring without Ares ordering her or Cornelius constantly bickering with her. She smiled but it immediately turned to a frown when she realized why she was smiling. Myla stood up from the bed and walked over to the window with a sigh. She didn’t understand what was going on but the longer she spent time with Ares, the more she tried to convince herself that he wasn’t that bad because that’s the way it seemed to her but was that how he really was?• Ares drove his hand into the man’s eye socket and dragged out his eyeball. The man fell to the ground, screaming in pain while Ares just rolled his eyes and threw the eyeball on the ground and stomped on it because squatting in front of the man. He grabbed the man by the hair and lifted his head up so they were eye leveled. “I told you
