ログインMira's POV
I rolled to my side. I didn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I felt his hand around my throat again.
I rubbed my neck. The pressure had died down long ago. Everything was wired to me. His eyes changed, the warning he gave.
A knock hit the door and I sat up immediately. “I'm coming,” I said, rushing to the door and opening it.
Standing there was Maya. She was a young maid about the same age as me with blonde hair.
“Come out” she commanded. I didn't argue. “We have to attend to the master.”
I paused. “The master. What happened to him?”
She spoke fast. “He's not himself. Everyone has been trying to get him cooled off but it's not working.”
“Mira, move your ass,” she yelled. I ran to her and followed her and stopped in front of the double doors.
The door opened and three maids ran out crying.
“What's wrong with them?” I asked.
“Shh. Don't ask questions,” she whispered and walked in. I followed and the door closed.
“We're here, master,” Maya said. A loud animal-like growl followed. I swallowed and stepped back.
“Get out!!!” The voice thundered. It was deep, darker than anything I had ever heard and my legs shook.
“But, master…” Maya argued. Her words hung in her throat as a dark furred beast stepped into the light. Its dark presence and loud banging steps forced out a scream from me.
It turned to me and my stomach churned. The blood dripped down his bruised face. Maya ran to the dorka and banged on it.
“Who gave you the permission to come in here?” He asked, his clawed finger pointed at me.
“I…” I forced out but my will dropped. I ran to the door, dragging it open.
Maya and I fought to leave but she pushed me hard and ran out, closing the door behind her.
“Pleade, don't hurt me,” I panicked, feeling hot warm breath on my back. I rose slowly and turned my head. My heart almost flying out of my chest as I stared into the beast face.
I screamed and crawled upward, terrified. It took a few steps and swung his left hand.
I covered my face, waiting. But nothing happened.
Strong bone cracking and flesh rearranging rang in my ears. I let my hand down and opened my eyes. Standing before me was a naked Xavier.
My eyes went up, refusing to go down as I quivered.
“The clothes,” he ordered.
I nodded, but didn't move. He watched me then walked over and took the clothes on the floor that Maya had left.
He wore them and cleansed his bleeding forehead with another cloth. Then turned his head a bit to see me. “What are you waiting for?”
I was confused. What did he mean?
“Leave,” he ordered. I didn't wait and rushed to the door, my hands on the handle when he spoke again. “Wait.”
What was it this time? Could the heavens not pity me and let me be free of this crazy man.
“Turn around,” he demanded. I obeyed, and waited for his orders.
He came forward, and lowered his head. I swallowed. He was dangerously close. He leaned in and I shifted back.
“Oh, God,” my mind rang. He sniffed, his nose touching my neck.
I held back the urge to scream, waiting for him to finish. “You smell different.”
He pulled away. “Blood?” He questioned.
What was he talking about? I walked in here and he was bathed in God knows who's blood and he had the audacity to ask me if I smelt of blood?
“What?” The words left my lips.
“Follow me,” he said and grabbed my wrist, pulling me to the bathroom.
I had no idea if I was to fight or faint. A couple of seconds ago, he was something else and now he was dragging me to the bathroom.
“Wash yourself,” he said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Just do it!” His voice thundered. I shook and his eyes went soft for a second.
“You're smelling of blood. It weakens my wolf and lets the other one come out.”
I swear if he said blood one more time I would rip my hair out.
He walked out and closed the door. “Creepy son of a devil,” I spat, watching the door for fear he would come back.
I went to the tub, my face checking the door one more time. I took off my clothes and slid into the water.
The cool water made my body relax. I picked the soap, and poured it into my hand then started to scrub my legs.
“Ouch,” I groaned. I glanced down quickly and noticed the cut.
How did I get that? My mind flashed back to me falling on the floor earlier.
I was done, scrubbed clean and wrapped in a towel. I walked out gently and he raised his head from the book. His eyes lingered a little long and I felt naked.
“I couldn't wear the uniform again. It has my sweat,” I explained.
He said nothing, took a few clothes from the closet and threw them at me. “Be quick,” he said and continued reading.
I started dressing and cleared my throat when I was done. His shirt was too big.
The shorts were being held up by my hips.
“You can leave,” he said. I nodded and headed for the door then stopped.
“What is it?” He questioned, his vice sounding irritated by the second.
“What are you? Earlier, you…you aren't you,” I rasped.
He closed the book, not raising his head and responded. “A werewolf.”
I laughed. He raised his head, meeting my gaze.
The seriousness in his eyes, made me shut up.
I swallowed. “You're joking, right?” My voice felt smaller than usual.
“Except you hallucinate then no.”
“The others…do they know?”
A thick wicked smirk played on his lips. “Yes. Everyone in this castle is one.”
Wait? What?!
He rose from the bed and took a step forward. “Perhaps, I should demonstrate.”
My eyes instantly widened in horror.
Oh no.
Mira's POV I took a step back. “I... I'm sorry.”He took a step forward. I took another back.He looked down at my neck. His nostrils flared. A look of pure raw hunger flashed in his eyes.He leaned in. He inhaled sharply near my throat.“You smell of fear,” he growled. “And something else.”I gulped. I hit the edge of the table. I was trapped.“I'll send the baths to your room,” he said in a low voice. “You must use them.”“Okay,” I squeaked. “I will.”I turned to leave. I needed to get out of there.I saw it then. Dark veined lines creeping up the side of his neck. They pulsed like living things.Suddenly the dagger at my back jerked. It vibrated violently against my spine. It felt like it was trying to tear through the fabric of my dress. It wanted to fly out.I gasped and slapped my right hand behind my back to hold it down.Xavier’s head snapped up.“What is wrong?” he demanded.“Nothing,” I stammered. I pressed harder against the trashing metal. “I just... I feel itchy.”He nod
Mira’s POVI stared at the silver object in my palm. The weight of it felt wrong and heavy like it carried a soul of its own. My fingers traced the cold metal. The symbols etched into the blade seemed to hum against my skin. What the hell was I supposed to do with this?I flipped it over. The intricate carvings looked ancient. The sound of the door handle turning froze the blood in my veins.Panic slammed into my chest. I scrambled backward and shoved the dagger behind the folds of my dress just as the door creaked open. My hand pressed the cold metal against the small of my back to keep it in place.Maya poked her head in. Her blue eyes narrowed instantly as they swept over me. She stepped inside and closed the door with a soft click.“What are you hiding?” she asked. Her voice was sharp. Accusatory.I forced my posture to straighten. “Nothing.”“Liar,” she hissed. She walked toward me slowly. Her gaze dropped to my arm which was twisted awkwardly behind me. “Show me your hands.”My
Mira’s POV“Mira…” The voice pierced my dream. “Mira… wake up…”I rolled over in my bed, my chest tightening, my sweat breaking out on my skin. The voice didn’t stop. It got louder.“Mira!”I took a deep breath and sat up, my heart thuddling against my ribcage. The air around me seemed off.It was cold, unpleasant and a rough hand on my skin. And then I saw her. At the foot of my bed.I stared at her, my breath caught in my throat. Her dark short hair resting on her shoulders with bright eyes. The dark eyeliner gave her eyes a moon-like sheen in the darkness. “You did well to get into a home,” She breathed. I sat upright. She was real, wearing a long black gown covering her feet. One step from her made me scoot back on my bed until the back of my head bumped against the wooden headboard. “Who are you?” My heart was going crazy, but my voice came out normally. “How did you get into my room?”Her face contorted to a calm smile, but there was nothing friendly in the smile.“You real
Xavier's POV I stood up and grabbed a heavy glass decanter from the bar. I threw it at the wall, and it shattered, spilling glass and liquor everywhere. It wasn’t enough. I had to bleed. I had to hunt.My phone beeped, the screen bright. I picked it up and glanced through the screen. A picture of my stolen shipment and the others seized by the police stared back at me. The number was hidden and I bit back the inside of my cheeks. Another message popped up. “How do you like that, Xavier?” “Henrique,” I growled. He dared to try me. Another beep rang and I read the words. My anger grew with every letter. “We should work together. Not as partners of course. You'll be underneath me. After all, you are a half breed bastard.”That was it. If he wanted trouble. Then, I'll give it to him. I grabbed my leather jacket and helmet. “Don’t wait up for me,” I said to the butler as I strode past him to the garage. The engine of my bike roared to life as I started it up, driving out of the es
Xavier’s POV “Kill her! Taste her blood!” The demon’s voice echoed in my mind, and I lost my sanity.“No!” My wolf was roaring inside my head, fighting to be heard. “She is ours to protect!”My body was at war. My muscles were tense, my tendons stretched like bowstrings, and I was sweating profusely. I had her right where I wanted to. Mira was backed against the wall, her back pressed firmly against it. She was breathing rapidly, erratically. I could actually hear the beat of her heart. It was music to me.“Stay back!” Mira yelled, holding up her hands, which were shaking like the leaves on a tree swaying wildly in the wind. “Don’t touch me! I said stop!”And yet, I did not. The connection was like a magnet, and I was sucked in.I pounded my fists on the wall on both sides of her head, caging her in. She gasped at the shock of it, and her eyes went wide at the beast she was seeing.“You…you…” Mira stuttered, and tears filled her defiant eyes.I leaned in close, and I was greeted
