Max got up from his seat, opened the wardrobe, and grabbed a random towel and a pair of Isabella’s folded pants. Then he walked toward the bathroom door to hand them over.

Coincidentally, Isabella was doing the same thing as before—peeking out through the small crack of the door to check if Max was still there. To her shock, he was standing right in front of her.

She gasped and quickly slammed the door shut.

“What are you doing out there? Are you trying to peek at me, huh? You’re unbelievable!” she shouted from behind the door.

“Open the door,” Max called back, knocking firmly.

“Hey, idiot! I have no interest in peeking at you! I’m just giving you a towel,” he yelled, clearly annoyed.

The door creaked open just a little.

“Oh… I thought—hehe, never mind. Thank you, Max.” Isabella smiled awkwardly, snatched the towel and clothes from his hands, and slammed the door shut again so hard that Max’s ears rang.

Adeline hurriedly returned the letters to where they belonged and wiped away her tears. She stepped forward to open the bedroom door. Standing outside was Grandpa Tom.“Grandpa… I thought it was someone else. Come in,” Adeline said warmly, taking his hand and guiding him inside. Grandpa Tom nodded as Adeline helped him sit on the edge of the bed.“How are you feeling, Grandpa? Are you feeling better now?” Adeline asked with concern.“I’m fine, dear. I’m doing well. There’s nothing to worry about,” Grandpa Tom replied gently.“Oh right, Grandpa,” Adeline said hesitantly. “I want to ask you something. Back then at the hospital, you told me that Jason was the one who asked you to arrange our marriage. Is that really true?”“Yes, dear. Why do you ask?” Grandpa Tom replied as he took off his glasses, then put them back on again.“So… you weren’t lying to me?” Adeline asked carefully.“Why would Grandpa lie to you?” Grandpa Tom said with a chuckle. “It was indeed Jason himself who asked to

In the BedroomAdeline sat on the bed, still fiddling with the music box. After a while, boredom crept in. She closed it, then carefully put it back where it belonged. Her gaze wandered around Jason’s room again, taking in the various items inside—until her eyes landed on Jason’s letter box. Curious, she stepped closer.‘I’m really curious about what’s inside Jason’s letter box… If I read them, would he be angry with me?’ Adeline murmured, a hint of fear in her voice.Just then, Jason suddenly walked into the room, startling her.“Adeline… what are you doing?” Jason asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.“Uh—nothing,” Adeline replied quickly, trying to sound casual. “I was just looking for a book. Where do you usually keep your books?”“My books aren’t there. Come here,” Jason said, frowning faintly as he led her to another spot and showed her several books.“Jason… don’t you think we should stay here tonight?” Adeline said softly. “Grandpa doesn’t look very well. At least we can keep hi

They got back into the car, and Jason drove them toward the clinic for Adeline’s medical checkup.Along the way, Adeline’s thoughts drifted. She suddenly closed her eyes, sadness weighing heavily on her chest. Jason noticed her expression darken again.“Jason,” Adeline called softly.“Yes?” Jason replied, turning to her.“If only I hadn’t gotten sick back then… maybe our child would have already been born,” Adeline said, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, her gaze painfully gentle.“Sweetheart,” Jason said calmly, trying to soothe her, “God is planning something good for us.”His heart ached hearing her word

Jason smiled faintly and quickly finished his work. He set the laptop aside and wrapped his arms around her.“What’s wrong this time?” he asked gently.Adeline buried her face against his chest, savoring his warmth.“Jason… I’m sorry,” she whispered.“Sorry for what?” he asked, confused.“I’m sorry I haven’t been able to give you true happiness,” she said, her eyes filling with tears.“What are you talking about?” Jason replied softly. “You’ve given me so much happiness already.”“But not the kind you deserve,” Adeline said shakily.“Jason… I’m terrified that I won’t be able to have a child,” she confessed, tears spilling down her cheeks.Jason fell silent, finally understanding.“So this is what’s been troubling you all day?” he asked quietly.Adeline nodded, sobbing.“Hey… don’t cry,” Jason said gently, tightening his embrace. “You don’t need to be afraid. We will have a child. After your checkup tomorrow, we can plan everything again.”Adeline hesitated.“But I’m so scared, Jason,”

After paying for her groceries, Adeline walked toward the coffee shop near the supermarket, her arms weighed down by several shopping bags. She ordered a hot chocolate. Not long after, the barista returned, placing the steaming cup in front of her, along with a few biscuits on the side.Adeline stared blankly ahead, her mind replaying Selena’s words over and over. Fear crept into her chest. She closed her eyes, her body trembling slightly. She reached into her handbag, searching for something—then froze.“Oh God… I forgot my phone.”Adeline murmured under her breath. Is Odette at home? I really need to see her.But how am I supposed to contact her?She sighed helplessly. I don’t want to go home. I feel suffocated there. After this, I’ll just go straight to Odette’s place. She finished her hot chocolate, and once the cup was empty, Adeline left the coffee shop. Standing by the roadside, she hailed a taxi and gave the driver Odette’s address. When she arrived at Odette’s house—Knock. K

Andrew and Odette were in the car, with Andrew driving her home first. He kept the speed steady while they chatted.“Andrew… do you know how happy I am to see Adeline and Jason make up?” Odette said, smiling with relief.“Yeah. I’m happy too. I hope the two of them stay together forever,” Andrew replied.“Exactly! I won’t let that clingy, shameless woman meddle in their relationship ever again. I won’t let anyone ruin Adeline and Jason,” Odette huffed angrily.“You mean Celine? Haha,” Andrew teased, laughing.Odette nodded firmly.“Oh, Odette… you’re something else,” Andrew chuckled as he reached over and ruffled the hair of the half-Japanese girl sitting next to him.He drove her all the way to her house. When they arrived, Odette opened the door to get out—but Andrew suddenly stopped her.“Odette… will you marry me?”Odette froze. Her eyes widened, her face flushed red instantly. Her mouth opened but no words came out. Then Andrew burst out laughing.“Why is your face like that? I’m
