Second attack

The door swung open and I gasped as I looked up from where I was still sitting on the floor of the kitchen, eyes wide and puffy from all the crying, only to see four figures standing in the doorway grinning fiercely at me. My eyes quickly diverted toward the floor as my breathing sped up.

Dax stood in the doorway with three other men I didn’t recognize,

“Come on boys we better make this quick,” is all I heard him say in a self-satisfied voice, sly voice. Within a second I noticed them come at me all at once, knocking over a chair and a small side table in their wake. I immediately jumped up and back against the kitchen table as I my heart started throbbing hard in my chest, my breathing was erratic yet I still kept my head down, not looking up and showing them what I truly was.
