Epilogue

2 years later

The past two years have been crazy.

Easton and I ended up going to the same college since he was paranoid about random boys trying to make a move on me.

We both moved into an apartment that's not far from campus so that we could just walk to school.

Stella and Asher got married after our freshman year of college because they "couldn't wait any longer".

I was a bridesmaid while Easton was the best man.

Their wedding was at the beach so there was a lot of sweating, even though we were practically in our bathing suit cover ups.

When it was time to leave I found Easton playing a game of peekaboo with my baby cousin which made my heart melt.

I never knew he was so good with kids.

A month later, Easton proposed to me while we were at Disneyland with my parents.

He claims that he didn't plan it but I kind of feel like he did.

Lastly, for the final week of summer, Easton and I chose to have a road trip from Pennsylvania all the way to Los Angeles.

I pretty much slept the whole drive since I pulled a two day all nighter.

When I woke up, he was singing along to random songs on the radio which made me laugh.

Great, now that you're caught up I can take you back to our current situation.

I'm currently in our school's library reading a book for my project while Easton sits behind me and massages my head.

"Does this feel okay?" He asks as he moves his fingers to the side of my head and massages it with the tips of his fingers which causes my shoulders to relax since I've been feeling a lot of stress lately

"It feels amazing" I say as I lay the book down in my lap and close my eyes which makes him laugh as he continues to use his skilled hands.

We're suddenly interrupted by my phone ringing, loudly might I add, which causes me to jump as it echoes through the library.

"Hello" I answer quickly so that we won't get kicked out

"Where are you?" I hear Stella ask as I hear the sound of crunching leaves under her feet

"At school. Why?" I ask with a tone of confusion

"Where at school?" She asks

"In the library" I say

"Okay, bye" she says quickly before she hangs up

Okay, that was random.

"Who was that?" Easton asks as I place my phone in my pocket

"Stella" I say as he moves his hands down and starts to massage my shoulders which causes me to sigh

He is really skilled with his hands.

"Did she want anything?" He asks but I don't get to answer because I suddenly see my best friend in the whole entire world walk out from behind a bookshelf with a smile on her face.

I quickly jump up and run to her as we both envelope each other in a tight hug.

I wasn't supposed to see her for another two weeks, that's when our Christmas break is.

"I missed you, but why are you here?" I ask with a choked laugh since I'm trying to keep my tears down

"I got out for break early so I thought that I would come and surprise you" she says as we pull away from each other and look into each other's eyes.

I haven't seen her since last summer, when she got married.

Her hair is longer and she wears less makeup now than when we were in high school.

"Am I just invisible to you?" I hear Easton say as soon as I open my mouth to speak. Stella looks over my shoulder and smiles.

"I must say that you look like a sad puppy" she says which make me turn around only to see him pouting at her. She walks towards him and hugs him just as tight as she did with me.

"Yeah, whatever." He says with an eye roll that makes me laugh "How is Asher treating you?" He says as he pulls away so that he can look at her face

Stella and Asher go to different colleges, but they always travel to see each other on the weekends.

They even spent every second of spring break together.

"Like royalty" she says with a smile which causes him to release a breath of relief

I smile at them.

I remember when they couldn't be in the same room with each other without fighting about something.

"We should catch up over lunch" I say as they release each other which makes Stella squeal in excitement while Easton nods his head

-

"You did what?!" I yell at Stella which causes her to shush me since we attracted a couple of eyes

"It was actually really fun. It's terrifying at first, but you get used to it" she says with a shrug before she takes a sip of her soda

"Why would you do that?" I ask with an incredulous expression which makes her laugh

"Relax, it was just something that I always wanted to do" she says with a smile

"You've always wanted to go skydiving in nothing but a bikini?" Easton asks with confusion

"Yep" she says with a head nod which causes me to slam my head into the palm of my hand in annoyance and disbelief

Who does that?

Stella, that's who.

"You could've gotten seriously hurt, Stells" I say as I use her nickname that I gave her when we were in elementary school

"I know, lia, but I didn't" she says with a reassuring smile

-

After lunch we decided to video chat with Mrs. Hayes since we haven't seen her in awhile.

"Mom?" Easton asks when we see her picture pop up on the screen. It looks like she is in the kitchen.

"Now you all want to call me. What happens to 'we'll stay in touch'" she says with a dramatic tone which causes me to laugh

I've missed her.

"Omg, Amelia. How are you doing?" She asks when she sees me

"I'm doing great and we're actually coming back to Pennsylvania for Christmas break in two weeks" I say which makes her smile

"Good, it's been way too quiet without you all here" she says with a smile but a catch a hint of sadness in her voice which makes my heart hurt

I've never looked at it through her eyes before.

Both of her kids moved across the country because of their scholarships along with me her technically unofficial daughter since Easton and I are getting married soon.

On top of that, my mom is barely there since she's constantly traveling for business.

"Don't worry, we'll bring all the noise possible with us when we visit" I say with a smile which causes her to laugh

"Stella, how is your marriage?" Her mom asks suddenly, as if she just remembered

"We're still in the honeymoon phase" Stella replies with a dreamy sigh as a goofy grin makes it's way onto her face

"That's great," her mom says with a smile "just remember that I expect grandkids before you turn forty" she says which makes Stella's dreamy expression turn into one of shock and horror. Easton and I laugh out loud at Stella's expression since we've never seen her make that face before.

"That goes for you too, Amelia" Mrs. Hayes says which causes me to blush and look down as Easton continues to laugh

I don't know why he's laughing, it takes two to tango.

"Mom, you would spoil them" he says as he calms down and grabs my hand before I lace our fingers together and drag my thumb along the back of his hand

"That's what Grandma's do" she says as if it was the most obvious thing in the world which makes all of us laugh in agreement

"I have to go to work now, but I can't wait until I see you all" Mrs. Hayes says with a excited smile

"Us too, bye mom" both of the twins say simultaneously

"Bye Mrs. Hayes" I say with a smile as wide as hers

"Sweetie, you know that you can call me mom" she says with a wide smile before she waves and hangs up

"Ahhh, I can't wait until you become a part of the Hayes family" Stella says as she hugs me which makes me laugh as I hug her back

"And I can't wait until I become an aunt" I say before I poke her belly so that she gets the hint

"I want to graduate college first, jeez" she says with a laugh as we pull away from each other and stand up

"That's fair" I say before we all walk out of the fast food restaurant

"Where do you want to go?" Stella asks as I check my phone for the time

"You and Easton can hang out, but I'm two minutes late for class so I'll see you in an hour" I say before I run down the sidewalk and towards campus.
