Ashley's POV

"Good morning, Healer Ashley," a servant greeted, nearly colliding with me as I left my chamber. He had been heading my way when I emerged. "You've got visitors."

It was still early, the sun rising after dinner the night before, which had been late.

"Visitors?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows. "I wasn't expecting anyone."

The servant did not stir, standing there waiting for instructions, his expression vacant.

"Where are they?" I demanded, advancing. "Are they ill?"

"They did not appear ill to me," he replied, tilting his head slightly to one side. "I can have them removed if you prefer..."

"No, don't," I cut in. "Inform them that I will be visiting the guest chamber with them soon."

He nodded formally, bowed slightly, and departed.

I breathed a languid sigh, still bleary-eyed from the late night. The packhouse was already buzzing with activity ahead of the mating ceremony, two nights from now, on the night of the full moon. Zane had held to his promise
