Kaelan’s pov

My mother was clearly pissed. I could feel her. Who wouldn’t be pissed after witnessing what they had seen?

And to be fair, Thomas was someone whom I trusted deeply. I could tell this man my entire secrets and not bat an eye, because he was someone that I could trust. With what he had done tonight, that trust was broken.

Elders were supposed to be one of those totem poles that you look up at and wish to be like one of them because they upheld every single rule that we had made in this great kingdom. My father wasn’t perfect, but elders were supposed to be perfect.

Then it hit me.

If one elder, who is a lycan, could break away from his character, what else could be done?

My eyes darted to my mother who was silently reeling. I slowly walked up to her and sat beside her. She was slowly rocking back and forth as I placed my arm around her and pulled her close to me. Her perfume hit me as it brought back nostalgic feelings of my childhood. She still hadn’t changed it after all
