A Month in Prison

Emma's POV

One month later…

"Hey, you. Wake up." The prison warden poked me with her stick. While it may look like she was trying to wake me up, in reality, this is how they check if the prisoner is alive or not.

I parted my eyes open and looked at her.

She said in her usual irritated tone, "It is not the time to sleep. You are in prison, not some holiday resort where you can sleep whenever you want."

"I am sorry. I was just tired." I stood up from my ice-cold iron bed with no pillow or quilt.

"Don't let me catch you sleeping again." The warden warned me before walking off.

As soon as she left, I sat back on the bed and clutched my head. I was seven weeks pregnant now and the baby was not helping me much with my health. I was sick all the time and noticed a significant fall in my weight.

After the day I was arrested from the hospital, I was thrown into the pack dungeons while the investigation was still going on.
