The Past

Emma's POV

I did not respond and stayed still, it was not that I did not want to respond but did not know what to say at this point.

We have been married for three years and all this time, I stayed dedicated to him. I gave up on my career and left behind the life I could have lived to be treated like a maid in this house. But even after all these sacrifices, it only took one accusation from her to throw me out.

Alpha Draven did not stick there any longer, he picked up his coat and stormed out.

Now that the house was empty and back to being lifeless, I got the time to sort out my thoughts.

I recalled that night three years ago, I was in the pack kitchen all day, arranging the pantry all by myself. Could this be a misunderstanding?

I picked up my purse and headed out of the house. I called a cab and asked them to take me to the hospital where Stella was currently hospitalized. I wanted to hear the truth from her.

I got into the elevator and reached the topmost floor, at the end of the corridor I could see the door of the VIP room. Since the door was slightly open, I did not think much and entered only to be greeted by the sight of Stella wrapped in the arms of my husband.

The two were sitting on the bed and she was leaning on his chest affectionately. The peaceful atmosphere was disrupted as soon as they caught my sight.

Everything around me fell silent; I had seen them like this before but back then, he was just a guy I admired. Right now, he was still my husband and the pain this was causing me was immeasurable.

“You? What are you doing here? Who allowed you to come in?” Draven stood up from the bed furiously.

“I am just here to talk…” Stella’s face went pale at my sight; she grabbed his arm and started to shiver, “Draven, I am scared. She is going to hurt me again.”

“It’s ok, don’t be scared. I am here.” Draven immediately softened down. He hugged her and addressed me coldly, “Get out of here before I call the security.”

My eyebrows knitted themselves together; I ignored him and placed my eyes on Stella, “Stella, there has been some misunderstanding…”

“You tried to kill me in cold blood. I don’t want you here. Leave, please…” She said, her voice starting to crack.

“Stella, how can I do that to you? We are friends…”

“No, we are not friends!” Stella shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears, “Draven, please send her away. I…” She clutched her head weakly and this simple action was enough to well him with worry.

“Emma! Get out!” Draven screamed at me.

I clenched my fist and said, “Fine! The friendship that we had ends here today, Stella. And you…” I pointed my finger at Draven and said, “Next time I see you will be with divorce papers.”

When I got home, the first thing I did was wash my face to try to clear my head of the cold water. When I looked up I was startled by my bloodshot eyes face in the mirror.

The path I chose to get married to Draven may not be a righteous one but I gave it my all to be a good wife to him. After all the sacrifices I made for this family, this was what I got in return.

No, not anymore. I was not going to let him or anyone walk all over me like this again. I am going to change this!

I wiped the tears off my face and went back to my room. I pulled out my phone and dialled a number.
