Chapter 3

Left with no choice, I went to Silver Moon Pack's territory.

"Evelyn, your parents are safe. There's no need to worry."

Anka personally poured me a cup of coffee.

"The reason I asked you to come here is that Camilla has completed her healing potion. She claims it will completely eliminate the toxin in Liam's body by tonight.

"To be honest, I do have an ulterior motive. If she fails, I hope you'll still save Liam."

So that was the real reason he'd brought me here.

Before I could respond, Camilla walked in wearing an elegant white robe. Her face was glowing with confidence.

"Liam has already taken the potion! By tonight, every trace of the toxin in his body will be gone! To create this cure, I searched through every ancient text in the shrine, spent countless days and nights researching, and conducted hundreds of experiments–"

"Or are you simply trying to use lies to get marked by the future Alpha of Silver Moon Pack?"

Anka had never fully trusted Camilla's so-called healing potion. Hearing her words, his expression immediately darkened.

"Enough! Evelyn's identity is among the greatest secrets of werewolf kind. It is not your place to question it!"

Camilla trembled and quickly lowered her head.

"I was only worried Liam might be deceived–"

Liam immediately stepped forward.

"Camilla was only speaking her mind. Besides, she has already cured my poisoning. Please don't blame her."

Anka waved his hand wearily.

"Liam, I still can't shake my concerns. Tonight is the final deadline–"

Liam interrupted him confidently.

"My toxin is already gone. Nothing will happen.

"And I've decided that I'll officially become Camilla's mate tomorrow."

I had seen enough. Rising to my feet, I said calmly, "Then I wish the two of you every happiness."

Those simple words instantly sparked Liam's rage.

He stepped in front of me.

"Evelyn, your little act is over!

"If you admit you're nothing but a fraud and apologize to Camilla, I'll ask Grandpa to let you stay in our territory as an ordinary witch.

"When I inherit the Alpha position, there may even be a place for you by my side."

I looked at him like he was an idiot, but he mistook my silence for hesitation. A triumphant smile appeared on his face.

Stella, who had remained silent all this time, suddenly ran over with tears streaming down her face and grabbed my arm.
