Chapter 4 Jealousy and rivalry

"I will tell you the truth, Lexie, but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone," I said, trusting her.

"I promise, Aly," she said confidently.

"All my life, I have known that my mate will be a high-ranking wolf, and I have accepted it; the only doubt is when that time will come," I said, unsure.

"All I want is to be the owner of my destiny for as long as possible; that's why Elena gave me this bracelet to help me. That masks my essence from my mate," I said confidently.

"Now I understand you, don't worry, Aly.  I understand you perfectly, and I support you in your decision," she said, smiling at me, "but what will you do when you find it? You won't be able to hide for long".

"Well, the truth is I already found him, and I've been hiding from him," I said, glaring at her.

"What, how, who is he?" said Lexie confused.

"Your brother Hansen," I said.

"Oh, I don't know either to be happy or to give you my condolences, don't get me wrong, he's my brother, and I love him, but sometimes he can be a pain in the ass," she said, laughing at him.

"I know what you mean."

"What are you going to do about it," Lexie said.

"So far, he hasn't noticed. I will take my time and take things slow before I confess the truth to him; I want to know if he would fall in love with me without this mate bond our moon goddess has given us," I said confidently.

"This will be fun, watching my brother go crazy all over you, not knowing you are his mate," Lexie said, laughing, and I laughed with her.

"Hansen, it will soon be Lexie's birthday, and I suspect she is my mate," said Ivan.

"I'm glad my sister couldn't be in better hands," said Hansen. "I knew that overprotective attitude with her was for a reason; you have mentioned your intentions to Lexie."

"I'm still waiting for the day to come, and she will find out for herself," said Ivan.

"I hope so because these days we will be very busy, we have to review the list of alphas coming to the annual meeting of alphas and lunas to our pack," said Hansen.

"It will be a great event for us. Let's go over the list," said Ivan when he saw a name that made him uneasy on the guest list, " Will alpha Benson from Highland Pack becoming," he said, worried.

"No, alpha Benson has left the position to his son Julius. He will be the one coming in his place," mentioned Hansen.

"Maybe we should prepare one of our guest houses for him, and I don't think he would feel comfortable in our packhouse with so many people," mentioned Ivan.

"I don't think that's a problem. The main reason for this kind of meeting is to coexist between us and create new alliances," said Hansen, "Something's up to Ivan; you seem a bit evasive with this alpha."

"No, I remember Julius. He is not exactly an example of friendship and respect. Still, maybe he has changed," said Ivan without mentioning the main reason.

"I have to talk to my father about this, and I can't let Alania find out that Julius is coming, "Ivan thought.

"I find it strange the reaction of my beta about the arrival of the alpha Julius.  I know he is hiding something from me, but I will wait to see his reaction when the time comes," thought Hansen.

"Ivan, tomorrow Sebastian, the future alpha of the Blue Mountain Pack, will arrive. His grandfather has personally asked me to welcome him to train with us and get experience when it is time for him to take charge of his pack," said Hansen.

"It will be an honor, Hansen. I have heard about his attacking skills. He will be a good opponent for Alania in training," said Ivan.

"I don't think he is at her level. She will only train with me and no one else," he said thoughtfully.

"Excuse me, Hansen, but on the contrary, I think it would be an excellent opportunity to challenge her to the maximum with an alpha unknown to her."

"We'll see," said Hansen.

The next day

I woke up hearing someone knocking on my door, "Alania, are you awake yet' said Lexie.

"No, but who cares my beauty sleep? Come in, what's all the fuss".

"I just found out Sebastian just arrived, and he is so handsome," said Lexie.

"Who is Sebastian?" I said, confused.

"He is the future alpha of Blue Mountain, and he will be training with us for some time while he assumes his position as alpha," mentioned Lexie.

"Another alpha, this is perfect, what I was missing having to deal with another alpha, I just hope this doesn't bring me more problems," I thought.

We got ready and went to the training field; everyone was in rows prepared to start. I took my place in the mainline to wait for directions from our alpha.

I was very nervous even with the bracelet; when Hansen approached me, I felt insecure. I could feel the sparks when he touched my skin. I was afraid of losing control of my wolf in front of him.

I  looked up and saw him wearing only a pair of black shorts, which revealed his well-defined chest and abdomen.

I couldn't hide how agitated I was to see him like that. My wolf was jumping with excitement in my mind, but I managed to control it, or he would realize that I am his mate.

Today, a new member will be joining our training, Sebastian, and everyone knows he will be the future alpha of Blue Mountain. He will be with us for a while, and I hope you give him the respect he deserves," Hansen said.

"Yes, alpha," we all said in one voice.

"Let's start," said our beta, "you will fight in mixed pairs; for those who don't have opponents, you will wait."

"Alania, you will be with Sebastian; you need a high-ranking challenge," said my brother.

"Yes, beta," I replied and headed to my fighting area.

"Alania, nice to meet you," Sebastian mentioned as he walked towards me, extending his hand.

" Same to you, call me Aly," I said, smiling.

We took our positions, and the fight was quite fluid. Sebastian was able to throw me a few times, which didn't surprise me as he was a high-ranking Alpha, but I could knock him down a couple of times as well.

In the last round, Sebastian was able to knock me to the ground. He was on top of me, kneeling in a very embarrassing position, "I think I won this round," he said, smiling as he glanced at me.

Somebody make a low growl. We both turned and saw Hansen, quite annoyed, staring at us.

"Someone is jealous," said Lexie as she looked at us in amazement.

I stared at her and put my finger over my mouth as a sign for her to stay quiet.

"That's enough for today. Training is over,"  said Hansen furiously, approaching us, "tomorrow you will fight me," Hansen said as he stood in the between Sebastian and me.

 "I don't think it's necessary, Hansen.  Sebastian is an excellent opponent, and I'm sure I will learn a lot from him," I said as I moved closer and challenged him.  He wasn't going to let me intimidate by the big bad alpha,  even less for being my mate.

“Don't challenge me, Alania, and remember I am your alpha; you speak to me using my title with respect," he said thoughtfully.

"What's going on here," my brother said as he approached.

"Nothing, I think it's been a misunderstanding," Sebastian said.

"Nothing Ivan, our alpha is being a bit impulsive," I said, smiling at him.

"Alania, don't forget that Hansen is our alpha, and he deserves respect," Ivan said.

"Sorry, alpha, I take my leave," I said as I stepped back with Sebastian.

"I accept your apology, but don't let it happen again," Hansen said as he threw me a sarcastic smile, challenging me.

I growled and walked away as fast as I could, the nervous of this cocky alpha and to think, That's my mate, why do you hate me so much, Moon Goddess, to pair me with such an idiot.

"Alania, wait for me. I wanted to ask you if you know some places you could recommend, I don't know the area, and I would like to go eat," Sebastian said.

"I will be free today; if you want, I can show you around our territory later," I said, being nice since he didn't know anyone else and he seemed very nice to me.

"I like the idea at 6 o'clock is fine with you; I'll see you in the common area of the packhouse; I have a guest room," said Sebastian.

"Sure, no problem," I said, smiling.

After taking a bath and changing, I headed to the dining room to eat with Lexie, but she was still not there when I arrived. I took my plate and sat down to eat.

I am stunned by Hansen's reaction when I was near Sebastian.

 He was like crazy wanting to mark his territory or his prey in the morning, but my bracelet is supposed to be masking my scent; I don't know why he reacts this way.

“Try to relax and not think about it anymore,” I thought, but when I smelled chocolate and coconut, I knew he was close. I didn't even want to see him, but it will be quite challenging to avoid him in his house.

"You are just the person I was looking for. I need to talk to you," Hansen said.

"What a big deal, me, the big bad alpha wants to talk to me, "I said, smiling sarcastically.

"Wow, that smile is pretty intimidating. But I'll pretend not to notice it," said Hansen as he continued to eat his plate.

 "I need some details from you for the new women's training I plan to plan with you."

"I don't think I am qualified for such an important task, alpha. Maybe Lexie could help you with that, she knows more about the women in your pack than I do, and besides, I already have plans," I said, avoiding him.

" This is more important," he said seriously.

"I can't. I'm sorry," I said, ignoring him.

"I think you misunderstood me; it's not a suggestion, Aly," he said as he looked at me and turned my face with his hand.

"Neither are my plans.  I promised to help someone, and I plan to keep my promise. We can discuss this tomorrow at training" I pushed my chair back and walked away from the table, ignoring his angry look for avoiding him.

Does Hansen think that he can order him around whenever he feels like it? He is a very wrong alpha or mate, and he is not going to boss me around.
