Chapter 5 The unwanted guest

Chapter 5 The unwanted guest

I looked at my watch, and it was exactly 6 o'clock. I was ready for my walk with Sebastian, and I chose blue jeans and a red sleeveless blouse. I left my hair loose with my curls in the air, as I like it.

As I walked down the stairs towards the common area, I could see Sebastian, who was already waiting for me.

"Hey, Aly, ready to go."

"Sure, we can take my car if you like," I said.

"I thought it would be more comfortable to go in mine, so I can get to know the area better if I drive," said Sebastian.

"No problem, it's fine, let's go," I replied, and we left.

As we left, I felt a look and a chill; I looked back and saw Hansen standing on the stairs looking at us; I didn't think anything of it and kept walking with Sebastian.

"Something is wrong with you, Hansen, and you look like you want to kill someone with your eyes; are you jealous, big brother," said Lexie at Hansen sarcastically.

"You're crazy. Why would I be jealous? I still haven't found my mate, and there's no one around who's my match, don't be silly," he said, furious, and walked off towards his office.

"What happened? I thought I saw Hansen pretty upset," said Ivan.

"I think my little brother has found the stone in his shoe," said Lexie laughing.

"I don't understand what you're talking about, Lexie, but I think it's pretty funny to see him like that."

I walked angrily to my office, slamming the door hard.  I don't understand why I felt helpless; when I saw Alania leaving with Sebastian, she is not my mate; I would realize it when I was with her.

But I feel an attraction towards her, which I can't explain. It makes me mad that another man is with her, whether Sebastian, Dominik, or whoever.

I have to control myself, and no one can know I'm having feelings for her. Still, I can't help it, she's gorgeous, and the way she fights, she has unimaginable strength and agility.

Now I understand why she is considered a prodigy. It would be an honor to have her as my mate, my moon, if she wasn't so stubborn, angry, tantrum, and not very condescending.

But who am I kidding? That's what I love most about her, and she doesn't get bullied easily and gives her opinion no matter what.

I can't think about her right now, I have too much work to do, I'll deal with her tomorrow, and she'll listen to me.

I took my cell phone and dialed my father's number.

"Dad, I wanted to inform you of the details of the meeting of alphas and Lunas. Everything is ready. I sent you the list of attendees, so you know who of your friends will come," I said to my father, the ex-alpha Dante.

"Thank you, son, and I am looking forward to this meeting. I haven't seen my friends for a long time, and in fact, I was about to contact Allen to tell him," my father replied.

"Perfect then, I'll leave you to continue with your plans. I still have a lot of work to do," I answered.

"By the way, son, you already had a chance to see Alania; she became a great warrior, isn't there something you have to tell me," said my father.

"If you had the crazy idea that she was my mate.  I am sorry to disappoint you.  she is not. I do see that she has great qualities as a warrior, and which did not impress me. After knowing her character of bossy and temper woman," I said sarcastically.

"I see you two have already met, and you are very similar in that from what I see, you would have been a perfect couple, what a pity' said my father.

"It's the ok, son. I'll leave you. I won't keep you any longer".

I laughed a lot, knowing about my son's meeting with Alania. The truth is that they are more alike than they think, but who am I to challenge our goddess? I opened my email and was checking the list of the attendees to the meeting.

When one name, particularly, caught my attention, Alpha Julius of the Highland Clan, I couldn't help the disgust I felt when I saw that name on the list. I took my cell phone and dialed the number of my ex-beta Allen Alania's father.

"Allen, how are you," I said seriously.

"Boring Dante, since we turned in our posts, this retirement thing is pretty boring," said Allen.

"You don't need to say it, my friend, but there is a crucial reason why I called you, and we need to discuss it," I said thoughtfully, getting Allen's attention.

"Something's up, I hear you differently, and I recognize that tone of voice; it's something important, tell me about it," said Allen.

"My son just sent me the list of the alphas. Invited to the annual meeting and one name in particular that I never thought I would see again has caught my attention," said Dante.

"It can't be the name I'm thinking of because we officially agreed that he would stay away from our territory, and we swore that pact."

"You are right. We swore it you, alpha Benson and I, but not his son Julius, who is now the formal alpha of Highland clan and will be the one to come in his place," said Dante.

Allen stood up from his chair, furious.  The very thought of that man near his daughter made him angry.

"We cannot allow him near my daughter, I am sure his intentions have not changed, and even if she were his mate, I would not allow my daughter to be with that man."

"You have to talk to Hansen; we have to do something," said Allen.

"There is little we can do, and if I talk to my son, we will have to tell him everything, from why you had to send your daughter away," said Dante.

"Alania!" my daughter knows about this," I said seriously.

"Not yet, but it is inevitable that she will soon find out," said Dante.

"I will talk to Ivan, and we will think of something; we still have time."

When we returned from the walk, Sebastian and I stayed in the garden talking.

"Thank you for showing me the area. I had a great time with you, and I hope this will happen again," said Sebastian.

"I also had a great time, Sebastian, and of course, whenever you want," I said, smiling while looking at the stars. The night was beautiful. It reminded me of when I was a child, and I would leave the house at night to be at the lake and contemplate the stars.

I was so distracted by the beautiful scenery; I didn't notice how Sebastian was looking at me.

"The scenery is beautiful, right' said Sebastian looking at me, "Yes, it is. It takes your breath away, don't you think," I said, referring to the stars. Still, as I turn to look at Sebastian, I feel uncomfortable realizing that he talked about me.

"By the way, Aly, I have a question I heard over there that you have recently returned. Were you on a trip" asked Sebastian?

"It's not something more complicated," I said without looking at him straight on.

"What do you mean" mentioned Sebastian, perplexed with my answer, "I know we just met, but I feel like I have known you all my life, believe me, you can trust me; I promise to be discreet."

"When I was 14, my father sent me to my uncle Iker to begin my training. It is no secret that he has a special ability for the art of combat and a different speed," I said, trying to give less importance to my skills.

"Because I feel that's not entirely the reason why you were away from here' Sebastian said, looking at me, "You can trust me, Aly, I promise."

"I know, but I'm not ready to remember, let alone go into details right now. Besides, I'm a little tired. I want to retire to sleep in my room if you excuse me," I said, trying to evade the topic.

"Sure, I'll talk to you tomorrow," Sebastian said as he walked away towards our clan's house.

"How about your date, sis," Ivan said as he approached me.

"Good grief, it's not a date. I was being nice and being a tour guide for a friend," I said, not giving the matter any importance.

"If you say so, it seems Sebastian was too charmed by your company."

"When you stop being obnoxious, anyone would think that in 4 years, your character would improve, but miracles never come," I said, mocking him.

"How strange that you are awake at this hour; you were waiting for me. Is something wrong?" I said, worried.

Ivan looked at me, hesitating as if he was debating with himself about telling me something, "No, I was just taking a walk. I couldn't sleep".

"Ok, then I'll see you tomorrow; I love you silly," I said, smiling at him.

"I love you too, sis, get some rest," my brother said as we walked into the house, and I left, heading to my room, but on the way, I ran into Hansen, who was leaning against my bedroom door.
