Louisa
(Age:20) It was feeling empty and cold and then suddenly it stopped. A voice screamed at me with so much fury. I wanted to open my eyes, but I had to understand what was going on. “They all said killing my fated mate was the only way I could be free to choose my own!!” He yelled at me. “You're dead! And yet you still haunt me!” I tried to make sense of what he was saying, but my mind was completely blank. “Louisa, you know your death was necessary,” he began pacing around my body. “My father, mother and sister had to be avenged! Alpha George and his pathetic family deserved to die for killing half of my family.” My heart began beating faster; it felt like he was stepping away, and then, I heard splashes of books falling off from a shelf. “He killed them and never returned the bodies!!” He yelled and began stepping closer to me. “Well, to thank you for being the one close enough to dine with them and poison them, I will bury your body myself. I'm sorry I refused to give you the antidote like I promised but I would never have accepted you as my mate.” Damn it! He wanted to bury my body. He thought I was still dead. “I am an Alpha!! I refuse to be controlled! A wolf-less spy will not be my mate!” He smirked. I felt the pressure of his strong arms lifting me, my head lolled against his shoulder. I knew this was the right time to show I was alive so I forced my eyes open, letting a sharp gasp out of my mouth. He froze for a moment; I felt his arms tense. His grip on me loosened and the next thing I felt was hitting my back on the floor. “Ahh,” I gasped, pressing a hand to my head. My body ached, weak and foreign, as if it didn’t belong to me. For a moment, everything blurred, and slowly, I saw where I was. The room was small, filled with shelves stacked with books, boxes and dusty containers labelled in faded ink. A single light bulb was above, casting a glow. While I stood up, he took a step back, staring at me as if I was something unnatural. My heart was beating so fast; my feet trembled beneath me. “No… this isn't…” he paused. “You're supposed to be dead!” Well the man before was huge and tall, muscular built. It felt weird that I couldn't take my eyes off him despite hearing that he wanted dead, I guess that should be because I don't remember anything, especially how I died. “How in the holy hell are you still alive?” He asked, eyes still widened. I had to be careful with my next words. I didn't know who he was, and I couldn't let him know that I couldn't remember who I was. “I survived,” I said. “You, a wolf-less girl, survived a powerful poison that killed a very notorious Alpha and his Luna, including his heirs,” he stated, walking towards me. I opened my mouth but couldn't utter a word, I wasn't sure of what to say, so I closed back my mouth and began biting my lips in thoughts. “Answer me!!” He yelled. “Or perhaps, you lied about eating the food with them.” he paused, “Why come back for the antidote then? You can't be that stupid.” From what I've gathered, he had an enemy he wanted dead. He sent me to win their trust and dine with them, he gave me a poison to wipe out the people that murdered his family, I dined with them but never got an antidote from him. Damn it! I was used and manipulated. “Well, none of that matters anymore, I will just kill you myself!” He smirked. I took a step back immediately, my body tensing but he moved faster. My hands scrambled for anything to hold on to but instead, my back hit the wooden shelf. He reached me and wrapped his fingers around my arm, yanking me forward with so much force. “You had one life purpose! Infiltrate the pack, kill their Alpha's family! One life purpose!” His grip on me tightened. I struggled against his hold but he was too strong. I needed to think fast and save myself. Then, the words slipped from my lips before I could even process them. "Don't you want to know where your mother is?" I gasped. "She is still alive!" His grip loosened and his eyes widened in disbelief. “You're lying,” he said, furrowing his brows. “Perhaps that's why I returned from the dead,” I smirked, extracting myself from his grip. That was my chance to survive, I had to stall and find a way out of my misery. “Think about it! You never saw the bodies!” I said, staring at him and hoping he would buy my story. He shook his head sideways, he didn't want to believe me. My mind raced; I had been given a second chance, and I didn't want to die again without knowing why I was even sent back. So I took a deep breath and took a few steps forward. “If you kill me now, you will never find her,” I said calmly. I looked into his eyes, there was something different, something drawing me to him despite knowing he despises me. I stretched my hand to his face; his blue eyes glowed into golden yellow, and that ignited something in me; I felt my eyes glowing as well. “You manipulative bitch!!” he yelled and pushed me off him. I stumbled but held myself together. “I will never mark you to be mine!” He growled. “You are going to tell me where and how to find my mother right now!” “So that you can kill me afterwards?” I asked, “I need an assurance that once you find her, you will let me live.” I waited for a response while my heart was beating so fast. He clenched his fist, glaring at me.Louisa/Agnes“What the hell are you still doing in there, Jace?” Scott's voice echoed from the other room.Jace hesitated by the bed, still staring down at my original body like it had whispered his name and he was feeling a connection. His fingers hovered above my cheek, trembling slightly before they finally made contact. His lips parted. “This feels so strange.”He lingered for a moment longer, then drew back like he’d touched fire. His expression cracked for just a second, but then he straightened and backed away, his jaw tightening. He left without another word.I remained frozen, my breath shallow as the incidents of my death started to fill my head. I remembered Kaleb’s hand in mine, the deceitful smile he wore as he pressed his forehead to mine, whispering the promise of eternity, then piercing a dagger through my heart.I remembered everything and now, I was certain that Alpha Kaleb was the same as Jace, reborn.I clenched my fists, invisible still. I would be a fool to forgi
Louisa/Agnes The air outside was still alive with chaos. Gunfire cracked like whip lashes, echoing through the war and the scent of ash and blood clung to the wind. I followed behind Kane as he moved, fast but cautious, his posture stiff like someone walking beside a ticking bomb. The moment we emerged from the shadows, a group of armed men turned their rifles toward me.Idiots.Before their fingers could squeeze the triggers, I raised my hand, my eyes burning hot. With a snap of my wrist, an invisible force yanked the guns from their hands. They screamed as the weapons flew through the air. From the corner of my eyes, I saw how surprised Kane seemed. One of them charged anyway. I didn't flinch, I flicked two fingers in his direction. His feet left the ground as if the earth had rejected him, and his body slammed into the hood of a car with a metallic bang, rolling off in a heap.Kane glanced back, eyes wide. “Those were my men!”“And yet they tried to kill me,” I said, flipping a st
Louisa/AgnesI hated this.Every nerve in my body screamed as I sat in the backseat, the door shut and locked like a prison. Gunfire raged outside, sharp cracks of rifles and the thunder of explosions shaking the very frame of the SUV. The air inside felt suffocating, like it was closing in around me. Each scream, each shout, felt like a dagger in my chest. I couldn’t just sit here. Not when I had my own mission. Not when I had power surging beneath my skin.My fingers wrapped around the handle, slick with sweat, and I yanked it hard. The door opened.I froze as my heart skipped a beat, seeing Kane standing before me. His tall frame blocked the light behind him, his eyes roamed me.I began to wonder if he already knew my real identity, if perhaps Celine or Priscilla told him something. He must be working for either of them for him to want to destroy Scott.“Well, well,” Kane murmured, a faint smirk playing on his lips. “Now what do I do with you?”That was when I realized that he wasn
ScottWe rode in silence. The rhythmic thrum of the tires and the occasional rumble of engines were the only sounds that accompanied us as we cut through the packside. Trees blurred past the windows, casting flickers of shadow and light across our convoy.Regardless, I couldn’t stop looking at the rearview mirror, not at the road, but at them. Louisa was tucked into Jace’s arms in the backseat of the lead SUV, her head resting quietly against his chest. His hand cradled her protectively, fingers brushing her arm with the kind of tenderness that made my insides twist. I clenched the wheel tighter, jaw locked. Every second she leaned into him was another second I hated myself for ever pushing her away. She should’ve been in my arms. It should’ve been me. But I said nothing. I endured. I had to.We drove for hours until the terrain began to change, trees thickening, the air growing cooler as we approached Leatherhead territory. I could smell the edge of their borders before I saw them.T
ScottMy fists still pulsed from the blow. My blood was hot, burning under my skin, my breathing a ragged rhythm in the tense air. Jace stood there, stunned and swaying slightly, one hand clutching his bruised jaw, his eyes filled with disbelief.I could feel the fury simmering behind my own eyes, but I forced it down. I turned my back on him for a moment, hands braced against the edge of the table as I tried to calm the thundering beat of my heart. “We don’t have time for this, Jace,” I said, my voice low but hard. “Thomas is dead.”That snapped him back to reality.“What?” he breathed.I turned to him slowly. “Yeah. Found him cold on the floor, no pulse. Someone killed him, my guess is a witch.”He straightened, his anger shoved to the side by shock. “How? Why would a witch want him dead? I thought he was friends with the witches or something.”I shook my head, jaw clenched. “We’ll worry about that after we get our mother back.”“But….”I stepped forward, cutting him off. “Not now,
Scott Hours later, Jace and I got back home to the alpha's lodge. My boots hit the marble floor with thunderous steps, my jaw clenched so tight it ached. Jace followed right behind me.The moment I opened the door to the sitting room, I stormed into Louisa, dressed up and about to leave.“Where are you going?” Jace asked, rushing to her. He almost pushed me when he was trying to walk past me in the front door. She froze. Slowly, her eyes widened briefly before they narrowed, guarded and unreadable.“I had a bad omen that something was wrong with Scott,” she said, voice calm but low.My heart leaped, realising she felt my pains just like I felt hers the other time.He stepped forward. “What do you mean by bad omen? How did you know?”That was a ridiculous question to ask though. I am her fated mate. There was a pause. Louisa glanced at me, “My wolf,” she said finally, with quiet reluctance. “She felt it.”Jace stiffened, brows shooting up in confusion, then turned to me, lips parting
