Elara's POV

After Trevor left the pack house, Kevin went back to his bedroom. I was left with Alpha Gray and my mother in the living room.

Alpha Gray looked very stressed. He gazed at me and said,

"Kevin listens to you. Tell him not to worry. If he can make it, he won't be disappointed. But if he can't impress me, then..." He paused as he did not need to say anything more.

"Dad, don't worry. I will talk to him," I assured him.

Alpha Gray stood up and made his way to his room.

I glanced at my mother, who was still there, standing in her place. She was unmoved, as if she were thinking about something.

I had something in my mind to ask her. I walked over to her and held her hand. I pulled her to a corner and asked,

"Mom, why did you mention their mother at that time? You shouldn't have done it."

My mother smiled at me. "Elara, my darling. Why are you so innocent? I didn't lie. It was really her wish to give everything to Kevin. Don't you know she loves him the most?"

I frowned at her. "W

Alpha Gray did not seem pleased when he saw Aria. Instead, his face turned grim. He had an angry look on his face."What do you mean it's been a while? Have you two met before?"It was Kevin who spoke up. He frowned at Aria with his gaze full of questions, then he turned his head to his father, yearning to learn the answer."Dad, Kevin doesn't know that you have already met her," Trevor spoke with a chuckle.I glanced at Trevor. He looked in a very good mood. His face was calm, but his eyes were serene. It was as if he could speak whatever he wanted, but if someone dared to approach him, he would not let go."What is he talking about, Dad?" Kevin asked with a curious tone.Alpha Gray glared at Trevor as though he did not like his move. Then he shifted his gaze at Kevin and replied,"You all are talking too much at the dining table. Start eating before the food gets cold."Kevin cast a glance at Aria. She lowered her head without any eye contact with anyone.Everyone started eating. My

Kevin gave me a long look and then moved his gaze away. He took off his gloves and went to grab the bottle of water. He chugged the water, splashing a few drops down his body. I glanced at his chest, then looked for a towel.I found one towel on the couch and grabbed it. I moved toward him and held his hand."Sit here," I said to him, pushing him to the bed.He sat on the bed quietly. I dabbed his sweaty face and then lowered the towel to his bare chest. He stared at me while I was wiping his sweat silently.Soon, I felt a pair of arms wrapping around my waist. He hugged my waist, pressing his head against it."Elara"I rubbed his hair with the towel. "Hmm?""Trevor hates me."I paused, breaking his grip around my waist. He raised his head to look at me.I cupped his cheeks and shook my head. "No one hates you, Kevin. Don't overthink.""Then why didn't he back down? He always claims he loves me. But he always goes after what I want. Whether it's you or..." He paused as if he realized

Trevor froze as his father's words echoed in his ears like a physical blow. He looked at his father, the man he had been following all these years. He listened to his every word and had worked 18 hours a day in the company beside his study life while Kevin was out enjoying his life to the fullest like a spoiled brat.Trevor felt a bitter wave of betrayal rise in his throat. It was like a knife in the ribs, twisted by the very hand that had raised him.He could not help but think,'All those years I spent cleaning up messes, the deals I closed while I was sick, the life I gave up so you could keep your legacy.... And you are turning it into a game?'Kevin's voice came to be heard. "Thank you, Dad. You are the best. I promise not to disappoint you. I will prove to you that I am capable of what Trevor can do... in just one month."Trevor rose from the couch. Everyone looked at him. Alpha Gray noticed how his eyes darkened."Trevor—"He raised his hand to stop his own father. He stood per

The air froze in the living room. Everything seemed slower around the five people. Alpha Gray was in disbelief. He could not believe his ears. The silence broke when the young man sitting on the couch alone let out a sharp and jagged laugh."The throne? Leader? Ruler?"Kevin slowly turned his head toward his twin brother. Their blood was the same, but their eyes were worlds apart. Both of them looked at each other as if they were sworn enemies. The love they used to hold for each other was gone, slowly turning into a rivalry."Yes, bro," Kevin replied sarcastically.Trevor's lips curled into a mischievous grin. But his face turned fierce with cold fury."The throne..." Trevor repeated, his voice dropping to a low, mocking vibration. He did not look angry anymore. His expression slowly eased up. "You have been chasing balls and punching bags instead of reading ledgers."His eyes narrowed into two cold slits. It was not just anger but was the look of a man who had just realized there wa

Third POVAs soon as Kevin finished speaking, the living room turned silent. It was thick, and the tension was palpable.Kevin noticed that his father was surprised to hear him. He did not like his reaction."What? You don't want to?" he asked with an angry look.Alpha Gray was quiet. He was trying to process if Kevin was really asking for it. Because all these years he wanted him to take care of his business; however, before he did not agree to it.Elara observed Kevin. He was in a bad mood. There was no wonder he looked mad. But what happened to him suddenly? She turned her head and glanced at Trevor. His relaxed posture changed, his legs uncrossed on the couch. He stopped playing with his lighter. His eyes were only on his twin brother.'Is he mad? Why is he angry? Does Kevin have no right to have the same thing as his?' she thought.Trevor's eyes shifted from Kevin and landed on Elara. She noticed anger blazed in his eyes. His jaw was tightened, and he looked cold.Elara looked aw
