A week later, inside the CEO’s office at the Bennett Group,

Assistant Thomas Ashford was giving Asher a report while he was busy working.

“Sir, Benjamin called to tell me that the divorce proceedings between you and Elena have been completed.”

“Did Elena accept the compensation?”

Asher asked,

“Benjamin said she didn’t take a single penny.”

Thomas replied,

“She didn’t take anything?”

Asher immediately furrowed his brows.

“No. Benjamin told me that your grandfather intended to give her some money, but she refused.”

Even Thomas himself was surprised.

Everyone believed that Elena had come from the countryside and must have been poor, so why would she refuse the money?

Asher stopped flipping through the documents and thought for a moment before saying,

“Find her and transfer ownership of the house on the western side of the city to her.”

Over the past two years, she had been quiet and caused him no trouble.

She had also agreed to the divorce without making a fuss, so he felt that it was only appropriate to compensate her with something.

Thomas nodded and made a note of it, but he did not leave.

Asher frowned and asked,

“Is there anything else?”

Asher ordered firmly,

“I heard the new deputy director is young. Most likely, she has powerful connections.”

“I agree.”

In the medical field, experience was considered extremely important. Many doctors spent decades working without ever reaching the position of deputy director.
