A LETTER

Daniel and Ivy returned home together. When they went into their room, Daniel noticed Ivy was still sad, so he sat closer to her on the bed and asked, "What is the problem, dear? Are you sad because of what happened between us last night?"

"No, I'm not," she replied. "Daniel, I'm sorry, but last night was a mistake and it doesn't change anything. I am going to abide by the contract, so please, let's not talk about it anymore."

Daniel decided not to push the issue since Ivy seemed upset, so he nodded and said, "Tell me why you are sad, then."

Ivy sighed, "I had so much pent-up anger towards Miles and Lucy, but when I saw their pathetic situation today, I actually felt sorry for them for a moment, only to discover that they had sold all my mom's belongings, leaving behind only her books. Wasn't it enough that they inherited all her wealth and still sold me off? Did they have to sell her things as well?"
