Daniel made a few calls and Miles and Lucy were quickly arrested.

When the police officers arrived, they were surprised to see that both Miles and Lucy had been thoroughly battered and were covered in blood. They first took them to the hospital before taking them to the station.

In the days that followed, Daniel noticed Ivy was often moody, so he tried his best to make her happy.

However, she spent most of her time avoiding him. She only came to sleep when she noticed he had fallen asleep, woke up before he did, and spent the rest of the day cooking and doing other chores.

Each time Daniel tried to have a conversation with her, she would pretend to rush to the bathroom. It started taking a toll on her as she occasionally became weak, feverish, and sometimes lightheaded.

In her mind, Ivy hoped that Daniel would become irritated with her, and that way it would be easier for him to send her away when the time came. This went on for three weeks until Daniel couldn't take it anymore.
