VICTORIA ~

“Abortion?” Brandon asked, confusion flickering across his face.

“Tell me you’re joking, Victoria,” he added, staring at me with a stoic expression.

"Of course, Brandon. Are you surprised?" I chuckled, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"Well, don't be. I chose this because I can't endure your emotional torture anymore."

Brandon was confused. He didn't know whether to face Elese or me.

"Um, Elese, could you excuse us?" He said, patting her on the shoulder.

Elese stood up and left. Brandon then sighed and approached me with a concerned gaze. "You never told me you were pregnant. Why?"

"That's because you're not ready to be a father. Are you?" I asked him, a wicked smirk creeping onto my lips as I watched him get more confused.

He passed his hand across his face in confusion. "Huh, who says that?"

"I'm not ready for an argument, Brandon," I remarked, standing up.

"In a few hours' time, tomorrow will approach, and I'll visit the doctor for the abortion."

"Meanwhile, I'll be happy if we could finalize the divorce tomorrow," I said and turned to leave, leaving him confused and worried.

*

The next day, it was exactly five o'clock in the morning when I woke up and began my morning exercise as I usually do.

After about twenty minutes of exercise, I went to my study room and began reading, going through some insightful business books.

However, the thought of Brandon and Elese couldn't allow me to concentrate. It kept ringing in my mind how Brandon prioritizes her over me, his wife.

"Is it really worth it aborting this pregnancy just because of Brandon's foolishness?" I mumbled, closing the book I was reading, and held my chin with my palm, thinking about my decision.

"What would I stand to gain then if he finally moves on with Elese?" I wondered.

"This isn't a good move I'm taking because I never can tell the next type of man that would come into my life after I and Brandon separate. Who knows if Brandon would even be better than him?"

I concluded it's better to keep the pregnancy and lie to Brandon that it has been terminated, then move to another city to start a new life after our divorce has been finalized. At least even if I wasn't fortunate to have a good relationship, I would focus on my baby.

Just then, the wall clock beeped an alarm, signifying the day had already brightened.

I arranged the books back in the drawer and left for the restroom for a shower.

About five minutes later, I was done bathing. As I was walking back into my room, I bumped into Brandon. He was coming to my room.

"Hey Victoria," he said, letting out a smile.

"I hope you slept well." He added, trying to be caring.

"Good morning, Brandon," I greeted, ignoring his pretentious attitude.

"Good morning. So where are you hurrying to? It's so early to be preparing for work. After all, you're still on furlough for our wedding."

I sighed heavily, leaning on the wall with my hands folded across my chest, as he has refused to give way for me.

"Do you forget so easily? I told you already yesterday that I have scheduled an abortion with the doctor today, so I want to go early to be the first he'd attend to," I lied.

I wanted to make him heartbroken.

"Come on, Victoria, don't do this," he pleaded, instantly going on his knees.

"It's already late, Brandon. I have had enough that I can't take it."

"I can't be carrying your child and be suffering from emotional trauma from you and your so-called sister," I went on, hesitant to comply.

Just then, my phone pinged, signaling a new message.

"Excuse me," I told him and unlocked my phone to check the message; behold, it was from my lawyer.

I let out a smile of satisfaction and put the phone back.

"Wha… what is that? Who was the person who texted you?" He asked incessantly, panicking.

"No worries, Brandon. He's coming here, so I don't need to tell you by myself," I replied, not masking the hint of taunting from my face.

A smirk formed on his lips upon hearing that. "You want to catch me off guard, Victoria?"

"If that's what your instincts told you," I replied, pushing him out of the way and walking into my room.

About one hour later, one of the security men rushed into the building and knocked at my door.

"Madam, a young man named Wilson requested to come in. He said he has an appointment with you and my boss, Brandon."

"Oh yeah. Please let him in," I remarked, standing up from my bed to dress up.

"He really came so early," I muttered, hurrying to dress up faster and rushing out to the sitting room to welcome him.

"Welcome to our home, Barrister Wilson," I said, and he responded with a warm smile.

"Thank you. So please call him so we can round this up fast. I have other appointments to catch up with."

I sent one of the servants to call Brandon.

A few minutes later, Brandon walked out of his room. He was surprised by the unexpected visit of Barrister Wilson, my lawyer and college mate.

"Good morning, Mr. Brandon. Here are divorce papers requested by Mrs. Victoria. All you need to do is sign them," he remarked.

Brandon was startled that he froze in an instant. His jaw dropped, and his face turned ashen.

"Victoria, divorce papers?"

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    17: Considering Divorce

BRANDON ~ I left Elese's house at six o'clock p.m. for Greyson Resort, where I stopped over to cool off my mind first. With the way I was feeling, I might not be able to drive home safely because I wouldn't concentrate fully on the road. My mind would linger on the incident at Elese's house just as it is currently. If someone had told me Elese would do what she did when I walked out of her face, I would have never believed it. Common sense couldn't even tell her to run after me and pretend to be sorry, pleading for forgiveness. At the resort, the thought of what I encountered couldn't get off my mind despite the lively activities going on. "I'll have to divorce her regardless," I concluded, gritting my teeth in pain. I left the resort by eight o'clock after my friend Philip called to say that he has something to share with me and wouldn't want it to be in public. Philip is my ver

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    16: Her Affairs

BRANDON ~ After closing from work today, I headed straight to the mall to do some shopping for Elese, as today is her birthday. That was the exact reason I closed work earlier today than usual. I had decided to surprise her; maybe that would make her change for good, knowing I have her best interest at heart. Although she never told me about her birthday today, I already have it on my mind when her birthday is, as I usually bought things for her in the past, when we were still having our affairs secretly. Meanwhile, I never acted as if I knew it was her birthday. I never wished her well through text messages or even phone calls. It was exactly five o'clock p.m. when I left the store and drove to Elese's house in Almani District, which is where she has been for a week now, and she has not displayed any iota of character that shows she'd be returning soon. To me, this birthday surprise will definitely make her come

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    15: Elliott

VICTORIA ~ Indeed, time flies. I can't believe it's been nine months already since I came to this city. Looking at my past, I feel so blessed. The fact that I now have Elliot with me is something I can't express the joy it gives me. He's finally here with me. It was two weeks ago that I gave birth, all thanks to Logan. He had been running the errands involved and making sure I'm okay. With his help, I was able to get a furlough from my workplace. However, I'm still not yet able to tell his real source of income, and that scares me sometimes. What if he is into illegal business? It's certain I'll be arrested alongside him if that's what he does because I'll be termed an acquaintance. "Well, I'll ask him again when he visits in the evening," I concluded. It's either he explains himself to me fully or I draw the limits in our friendship. I don't even know anyone as his relative here, and he claimed he is from Asheville City. I breathed a sigh and wanted to turn

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    14: A Stranger In The House

BRANDON -I left Benita with my mood provoked even more.I thought that by kidnapping her, she would succumb to my request, but to my greatest dismay, she was hellbent on her decision. She refused to disclose Benita's location to me despite all the threatening comments I made to instill fear in her.I knew that fulfilling those threats wouldn't change anything, so I didn't harm her. When I realized that even if I spent the whole day trying to persuade her, she wouldn't change her mind, I decided to leave her and attend to other activities. However, I didn't release her. I left her there to come back another time, more prepared, and approach her differently.Driving towards my house, my mind was not at ease. I was thinking about Elese's sudden disappearance from the house.Although she told me she was going to her place, shouldn't she have informed me earlier and even in my presence, not the other way around?

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    13: What Do You Want From Me?

After Brandon succeeded in sabotaging my trip to Asheville City, I thought he would leave me alone. Little did I know he would continue to bother me. Following the failed trip, he asked me to take him to where Victoria was, unaware that she was in Asheville. Despite the tempting offer, I declined. "I will change your life and buy you a house in Greentown Estate if you can lead me to your friend," he persisted. Greentown Estate was prestigious, and owning property there was highly desirable for many. "Why is he so fixated on seeing Victoria? Didn't he choose Elese over her?" I pondered. "Could he be considering leaving Elese?" A wry smile escaped my lips. "He'll realize Victoria's worth soon enough. People often don't appreciate what they have until it's gone," I chuckled. Shaking off the thoughts, I focused on preparing for work. As a director in the agro industry, I needed to oversee operations and plan for the day. At 6:30 a.m., I left for work, driving through the expressway.

  • I Need You Ex-wife!    12: Billionaire In Disguise

VICTORIA ~As Logan steered his car through a massive gate, I couldn't help but wonder if my previous encounter with the former taxi driver was about to repeat itself."Didn't you tell me we were going to your house?" I questioned him, looking for an answer. He simply smiled mischievously without saying anything.I sat back, feeling cautious."Is this your boss's house?" I couldn't help but ask.He smiled again and shook his head in dismissal."Am I not enough to own a house like this?" he asked.I swallowed hard, taking in the ambiance of the compound."Do you mean you're the owner of this house?"Just as I was asking, a young man ran towards him and prostrated himself in courtesy."Good evening, young master Logan."I couldn't believe my ears. I turned and looked at Logan with shock, and he smiled as usual."Are you really a cab driver?" I blurted out."Why
