"Lisa, your parents are both Alphas. You'll be one too."

Noah, the boy who sat beside me, snapped me back to the present.

The pain of the dagger piercing my chest still lingered, reminding me that the hurt I'd suffered was real.

One look at Noah's face, and I realized I'd been reborn.

"Lisa, what's wrong? Are you feeling sick?"

I smiled and told him I was fine.

Then our PE teacher said, "Today is your fitness test. I'll use the results to assess your bloodline."

The moment I saw him, everything came back to me. Coach Hale, Lucio's father, was both our PE teacher and our homeroom teacher.

I was born into an Alpha family, so there was no reason for me to take a fitness test at all.

But Coach Hale still made me take it with everyone else.

He must have been trying to identify the most suitable bloodline for Elizabeth.

The color drained from my face.

In my last life, it had all started with my test results.

That was when Lucio started pursuing me relentlessly.

Looking back, he'd had an agenda from the moment he first approached me.

I deliberately held back during the test, but Coach Hale still called me into his office afterward.

Before I went, Noah caught my arm.

"You're always so good in training. What happened today?"

I gave him a wry smile but didn't explain.

In my last life, every wolf believed I was an Alpha female. I never questioned it either.

But in the end, the pack drove me out and made me a rogue. I went to Coach Hale for answers.

He told me, "It's extremely rare for two Alphas to have a daughter who isn't an Alpha female.

"And the odds of two Alphas producing a cub whose Alpha blood never awakened are one in 10,000."

"Your existence alone has brought shame on the pack. Don't come back and embarrass us again."

Back then, I was foolish enough to believe him.

So I left the pack and survived by digging through trash.

In this life, I wasn't going to live like a stray again.

I pushed open the office door and sat down across from Coach Hale.

He spoke first. "You clearly didn't take that test seriously. I could tell.

"Is it because you think you're a natural-born Alpha female and it's gone to your head?"

I said, "I'm not full of myself, and I wasn't slacking. I just haven't felt well lately."

That gave him pause. He looked me over with suspicion. "You're not lying?"

"No. I really do feel awful. I can't shake this uneasy feeling."

He told me to get some rest, then let me go.

The moment I stepped out, Lucio happened to pass by the office. He called to me, "Lisa, you didn't seem like yourself today. Are you sick?"

Sure enough, both of them were feeling me out.

I forced down my disgust and pretended nothing was wrong.

"Yeah, I haven't been feeling well. I'm worried something might go wrong when my wolf awakens in six months."

He just smiled at me.

"How could anything go wrong? You're definitely going to be an Alpha female."

The next day, I passed the office again.

I heard Lucio talking with his father.

"Lisa hasn't been feeling well lately," Lucio said. "Why not choose a different student?"

His father answered, "Her parents are both Alphas. She has the purest bloodline, which makes her perfect for Elizabeth.

"Her parents have already agreed, so there's no need to find another suitable wolf.

"Both of our families owe her a great debt. One bloodline isn't nearly enough to repay it."

When I heard that, a chill ran through me.

So that was another reason my parents had adopted Elizabeth?

Now I had to know what Elizabeth had done for them to make them sacrifice my entire life for her.

But this time, I wasn't going to let them have their way.
