LOGINChapter 2
Vanilla Bakery "Are you guys fighting again?" asked Xaviera West, Vanilla's mother. Vanilla, who was rolling out the bread dough, stopped her movements, put down the rolling pin and then picked up the dough cutting tool. "No," She answered simply. "Last night you slept in your room." Xaviera's tone sounded mocking. Vanilla, who was cutting bread dough, seemed to be concentrating on what she was doing. "One day Beck will climb into my bed," She said confidenly. "You know, he was very angry when he heard you had left him for New York." "Beck is always like that, he doesn't care about me when I'm around him. But, as soon as someone else is next to me, he gets angry." The girl with dark blue eyes took several pieces of sausage and then arranged them on the bread dough which she had added tomato sauce. "Then you can find a man here to approach to make Beck angry," said Xaviera seriously. "Mom, are you kidding? You know I haven't male friends for a long time because of Beck. Damn it, he really made me have no male friends," Vanilla grumbled. Xaviera chuckled softly. He rolled out the bread dough which he had filled with a whole sausage. "And you will forever be a baker?" Vanilla shrugged her shoulders. "This is fun." Vanilla completed her studies at Columbia University, New York. During her stay in New York she filled her free time by taking countless baking and cooking courses. She wants to be like her mother and of course because she is the only daughter, she is automatically the future successor of Vanilla Bakery. Vanilla's father died when she was fifteen years old and Xaviera chose not to remarry until now even though Vanilla doesn't mind at all if she has a stepfather. Xaviera is a strong woman, since her husband died she raised Vanilla with her own hard work from the cake shop she started from zero until now it has become one of the biggest bakeries in Barcelona. Vanila Bakery has ten branches spread across various strategic locations in Barcelona. Vanilla wants to be like her mother, to be a strong woman who doesn't depend on anyone and only has one love in her life. Vanilla wants that in the future after marrying Beck, every morning she can make breakfast for Beck and then after Beck goes to work, she herself will go take care of her business, Vanilla Bakery. That's why even though she was already skilled at making various types of cakes and dishes, the girl didn't stop learning. All for Beck's sake, one day he wants Beck to see all his efforts. "You don't need to force yourself to help me take care of this shop, you can work in the office according to your bachelor's degree," said Xaviera. "Being an employee at someone else's company?" Vanilla looked at Xaviera with a hurt look. Seeing her daughter's gaze full of pain, Xaviera understood. The forty-five year old woman sighed. "I'm sorry, I couldn't defend what should be ours." "It's not your fault." Vanilla's father is a successful businessman, he owns a company that operates in the field of construction services which is very well known in the city. However, God took it so quickly because of a sudden heart attack and Xaviera, who only knew how to make cakes, couldn't possibly take over the company. Her sister-in-law took control of her late husband's company without providing any clear division or calculation because until now Xaviera has not received a single cent of profits from the company that has gone into her account. However, the woman chose to be tolerant. He can still stand on his own feet, raise Vanilla well, meet all of Vanilla's needs from the results of the rapidly growing cake shop. "I have an idea," Xaviera said suddenly. The woman took off her gloves and toque, she called one of her employees to continue her work. "Mom, what are you going to do?" Vanilla asked as her mother moved the baking sheet containing the ready-to-bake bread away from Vanilla and dragged her towards her mother's private work room. "We should go to the beauty salon." Hearing what had just come from her mother's lips made Vanilla's lips fall open. "What?" "To the beauty salon then we'll go shopping." Xaviera smiled broadly. Vanilla took off her gloves and toque from her head, she also took off the apron that was attached to her body. "Mom, we are building a cafe and we can't be wasteful." They were actually planning to build a cafe right next to the main cake shop. Coincidentally, Xaviera had just bought the building when her daughter returned from New York and Vanilla had the brilliant idea to expand their business into the cafe and restaurant sector. Xaviera threw the apron into the laundry basket then unrolled her hair. "There is a huge difference between a woman's extravagance and her needs." He grabbed his bag and cell phone then grabbed his car keys. Vanilla also grabbed her favorite mini backpack and was forced to follow her mother's footsteps as she walked away from the room. *** "Mom, this will make me weird," protested Vanilla when her mother chose trendy and feminine clothes. "This doesn't suit me." "Shut up," said Xaviera. "You only obey me because I'm your mother." Vanilla snorted in annoyance, since her mother had been treating her arbitrarily at the beauty salon. Starting from cutting her long hair that touched her waist to just her back with a tapered shape at the ends then ordering the beauty salon staff to put on fake nails which would make it difficult for her to roll out the cake dough later and now her mother had also chosen countless outfits. None of it even suited Vanilla's taste. When she got home, Vanilla almost fainted looking at the pile of clothes her mother had bought. All the clothes were open style, narrow and lacking in material. Also shoes with pointed heels like spearheads and a bag that she can only fill with a cell phone. "I will replace the entire contents of your wardrobe," said Xaviera so seriously that Vanilla almost had difficulty breathing. "Mom, don't be kidding me, I don't like that style of clothing," protested Vanilla. "You want Beck to see you, don't you?" Vanilla was silent. He had tried various ways to get Beck's attention but until now even though they were engaged, Beck's attitude was so cold. In the two months since he returned from New York, there had been almost no progress in their relationship apart from arguments because Beck was annoyed with all the ways Vanilla approached Beck to send photos of Beck and Sophie if Beck doesn't comply with Vanilla's wishes.Chapter 14An Idol"Don't say you needed a fuck this morning, Nick." Charlotte who was standing behind Nick kissed the lips of Nick who was sitting leaning his head on the back of the sofa.Charlotte, she was Nick's best friend since childhood. Just like Beck and Vanilla. However, their relationship was more casual, Nick sought out Charlotte when he needed an outlet for his urges. Likewise Charlotte, she doesn't mind how Nick treats her. They were both free, Nick was free to date other girls and Charlotte was free to date other guys."No, I just need you to listen to my problems," Nick said. "Damn it, I just got rejected by a girl."Charlotte sat next to Nick. The woman's brows were deeply furrowed, almost touching. "What did you say?"Nick sighed. "Besides luxury items, what do girls usually like?""Handsome men," Charlotte replied quickly and then laughed amusedly."Oh my God, I'm serious."Charlotte played with Nick's curls using her fingertips. "I'm also serious, besides luxury it
Chapter 13ConfusedVanilla had just entered the dining room and was stunned to see who was there. Nick, the man sitting on the dining chair was enjoying breakfast at her home with Xaviera."Nick...." Vanilla actually seemed to groan calling the man's name."Honey, good morning. Come here," said Xaviera, the woman was pouring milk into a glass. While Nick, the man just grinned. However, his eyes looked at Vanilla softly, longingly as if he hadn't seen her in years."Why are you here?" asked Vanilla as she pulled up a chair next to Xaviera. She deliberately didn't take the seat next to Nick because she felt very nervous about getting too close to him."I wanted to have breakfast here," Nick replied, his eyes fixed on Vanilla whose face looked red.Vanilla spluttered in her heart at the man's answer, she thought it was just an excuse, there was nothing more reasonable than to share breakfast at someone else's house while he was a wealthy man. However, she couldn't help but feel very hap
Chapter 12Wild KissingInside the glass building, Vanilla squealed, her body shaking violently, and could barely breathe properly. Her thighs were wrapped around Nick's waist, her arms were wrapped around his neck while her face was in the crook of his neck. In all his life that he could remember, he had only ever seen tigers on television. Maybe he'd seen one at the zoo when he was a kid, but he didn't remember it. The cats Nick was referring to were five huge tigers, huge like a cow only not as tall as a cow. There were three yellow tigers and two white tigers. The tigers welcomed Nick and Vanilla by sniffing Nick and Vanilla's bodies alternately and then rubbing their heads against Nick's legs pamperingly. Vanilla was so scared, she felt like she was a hunk of meat going into a mill. She wanted to cry and run away from that place. However, it was obviously impossible because she couldn't even stand on her own two feet. "Nick... it's not a cat," she whined in a trembling voice.
Chapter 11 In My Arms The atmosphere seemed quiet, only the sound of paper being seldom flipped broke the silence. "Mom, come on... help me." Sophie whined to the woman in front of her who was reading a tabloid. "I've told you since long ago that Beck is not good for you, I have repeatedly introduced you to the son of my clients who are much richer. But, you are blinded by love.""You introduced me to an old man," Sophie grumbled. "Just a few years older, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they have a lot of money." Nena did not shift her focus at all from the tabloid in her hand. "Now you are unemployed, your credit card was also taken by Beck.""Lucy took it, not Beck," Sophie corrected."Whoever it is, it makes no difference because it means you are now completely useless," Nena said, indifferently. "In this city there are many men who are richer and more handsome than your lover." "But, only Beck spoils me. Other men only want my body."Nena closed the tabloid in her ha
Chapter 10Too Close Vanilla cried in Nick's arms, pouring out all the pain Beck had given her. Beck had just accused her of wanting to separate him from Sophie, even arrogantly Beck said to finish their engagement. "You think you'll be able to take me away from Sophie by taking her position in the company?" Beck sarcastically threw his taunts at Vanilla. Vanilla, who at that time still didn't understand where Beck's conversation was going, could only listen to Beck's words that continued to corner her. "Don't think too highly of yourself just because my parents love you, Vanilla. You can persuade my mother to fire Sophie from the company. But, that won't be able to separate our love," Beck said arrogantly. Vanilla felt her chest start to tighten, she understood why Beck was so angry with her even though she only guessed that Lucy did something to Sophie. Beck always rejected her, Vanilla couldn't deny that she felt hurt by Beck's rejection. However, being accused of something sh
Chapter 9 Trick "Mom, you can't act arbitrarily like that." Beck immediately protested. Lucy smiled in a very arrogant way. "What can't I do? This company is mine." Beck snorted, he was at a loss for words because the fact was that the company belonged to his mother. "Honey, wait outside," Beck said to Sophie. Sophie nodded weakly and with her face down left the room accompanied by a cynical look from Lucy. "Starting Monday, Vanilla will be your secretary," Lucy said, sounding cold, but firm.Beck was surprised to hear his mother's words. "Mom, don't joke." The man furrowed his eyebrows until they almost met. "Vanilla is your fiancée, wouldn't it be nice if you were together all day?" Lucy approached her son and patted Beck's shoulder, gently and lovingly. "Mom...." "What's so hard about accepting your arranged marriage? Besides, you've known each other since childhood.""I don't love Vanilla, Mom. I only consider her a sister." Beck leaned his back on the back of the chair.
