“Pay attention everyone!” The loud voice startles me as I realise I’ve been daydreaming a bit too much this morning. I didn’t get as much sleep last night as I had hoped I would. At first, the silence had been too much, that it felt like I had gotten lost in the Outlands. That was until the sound of bumping and crashing started on the floor above me. I panicked at first. Not knowing if he was in danger or had fallen over. I was about ready to find Drake and go up to help Kain out… that was until the loud moans started. Confusion had filled my mind at first. Then slowly, I realised what was going on up there. Kain had a woman friend over and now I was paying the price.

It was as Skyler had expected. Kain had me in his office not long after lunch was over, rather than have me join in with the rest of the companions. Finally, the day of long training sessions with Kain is over. My body is aching beyond comparison to all the exercises he had me do. A few weeks have gone by since my training with Kain began and although I still have a long way to go, I have learned how a Companion acts, talks and even walks from Kain. It almost surprises me how much he actually knows about these things. This gathering was bigger than I ever could have imagined. Kain had told me it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but if this wasn’t the biggest party, then I fear knowing what one of those larger gatherings is like! Maybe by the time I get to go to one, I’ll have grown accustomed to seeing so many suits in one place. For now, I can’t help but gawk at the whole thing before me. Bright dazzling chandeliers hang down above us, while enormous fountains of melted chocolate sit on tables surrounded by a buffet of food. Servers in cute outfits walk around carrying alcoholic drinks, offering them to whoever wants a drink, though there are also non-alcoholic drinks being served too. It doesn’t take me long to find a couple of girls that look like they might enjoy my company. They’re not companions, but they belong in the entertainment industry too. They’re background dancers, so no one is too important that I’ll step on any toes by trying to court them. Seeing as Kain has been teaching me some dance moves, we have a few things in common to talk about, which helps me find an opening topic. Outside of dancing, however, I’m not sure how much I want to get to know these girls. They’re nice enough, but I have zero interest in having any kind of affair with them. I wonder if they were hoping for that when I came up to them? Or maybe they’re glad that I’m not even talking about that kind of offer? Another party, another night of enjoying the attention of others. This time, however, I am a little more upbeat about the entire process. Drake’s help for the first party seems to have eased me into the process more. I understand now why Kain pointed out to join Drake that night. Even Skyler helped me a few days later, giving me some pointers on how to impress girls without coming across as creepy or desperate.This time, however, it is just our company here, as they hired us to entertain some special guests. The sound of gentle waves lashing at the shore and the smell of summer trees fill my senses as I look upon the building before me in awe. This place is more of a resort for relaxing in my opinion, but apparently, we’re here for work and not a vacation. I have always known about the oasis of Krusas city, but I never dared to think I’d ever come near it. It is larger than any single body of water I have ever seen. There are small man-made places like fountains, but this is all-natural and a very popular spot for the wealthy.To make sure we’re not late for this meeting, Drake has brought all of our things to our rooms while Kain and I head straight to work.
