"What is your father's name Sylvia?"

He ran his hands on her head in a care. His heart was beating against the rib cage like a rummage when he asked her the nerve shattering question.

Sylvia twisted her lips. "I have not seen my father. My mom says he joined the military and has not returned since then."

"Typical Charlotte" he murmured, wrapping his lips in a thin line with indignation but the joy on Ian's features was matchless as he heard Sylvia's reply. He kissed her forehead and hugged her to his chest tight like never to go parting.
