Chapter 3

It has been a month since the incident happened. But all's well that ends well. Carlos and Sapphire were like always the ever romantic couple. Small disturbances do take place between couples but by dusk if the differences are settled it is deemed to be a happy marriage.

An interview with Carlos was shortly to be aired live on BBC. Hundreds of photographers and videographers were surrounding him accompanied by millions of fans.

Sapphire was one among them sitting on the front line of guests who were clicking pictures of her husband. She had canceled her modeling assignment to Bora Bora and was happy to sacrifice her choices for the joy of her husband, Carlos.

Sapphire has been the top model of Empire International Limited. During their school, Sapphire was crowned as the Miss Xavier Ridge valley school and Carlos was awarded as the best student in Literary for grabbing the highest marks in Science and Mathematics.

Being the top students in St Xaviers in diverse fields, both of them became popular and famous right from their childhood. They had worked together for many of the cultural events representing Xavier Ridge valley. Consequently, sparks ignited between them and seven years later Sapphire and Carlos got tied to the nuptial knot.

After some time they were blessed by God with a beautiful daughter. Sapphire was at the top of her career during then but she had always considered family first when compared to her career. Without a second thought she eschewed her profession to bring up their daughter.

Today when Akira is old enough to manage herself, Sapphire has taken over as a Chairperson in one of the modeling companies to select young and bright talented models. She also takes some small assignments which don't involve lubriciousness.

"My love, I am sorry you had to cancel your modeling assignment for the sake of my interview." Carlos pecked Sapphire's lips after they were on the way to their home.

"I have always placed my family before my profession Carlos and I did not regret my decision till today. After all, my husband is so caring and romantic. Isn't your happiness mine?" Sapphire kissed the cheek of Carlos before hugging him and landed her head on his chest listening to the soft beats of his heart.

For a few moments there was silence. The privacy shield was already down and Carlos gently raised up Sapphire's head holding her chin. The passion in his eyes was clearly evident. He ducked his head and landed his lips of hers.

Sapphire willingly opened her lips and his tongue walloped into her mouth in a zeal of hunger occupying every nook and corner. She melted into his shielded arms like sugar in a warm cup of milk.

Carlos brushed his fingers on her cheeks and spoke in an emotion with glistening eyes. "I love you so much Sapph, you are my world. I do not know what I would have done to myself if your dad wouldn't have agreed on that day for our marriage." His voice choked at the end.

"Shh, do not speak about things that never happened or never will happen in our lives, Carlos." Sapphire spoke, placing her finger on his lips. "If dad wouldn't have agreed I would have eloped with you." She professed pecking his lips.

"What?" Carlos's eyes were now hinting at mischief. "I was confident you would love me and keep us happy." Sapphire spoke fidgeting with her fingers in shyness.

"My wife blushes like we are still the boyfriend and girlfriend even after nine years of marriage. Sapph, look at me." Carlos spoke genially. Slowly the icy blues of her lifted up meeting his stark black irises. They melted in the zest of cherish and the moment was the best moment of his life. Carlos felt the world stop moving around him.

There were no words spoken between them and neither were they required. It was simply the savor of silence with their orbs tuned to each other. A whimper of joy broke out of Sapphire and Carlos immediately huddled her into his embrace.

The silence in the car continued. Carlos gingerly lifted Sapphire and placed her in his lap running his hand softly on her back.

Love has no language. In fact the most intense emotions start with the eyes and end with the heart. Speech has no say in it.

"Harold, stop the car at Akira's school." Carlos called the driver's attention.

"Daddy, I got three stars in my English assignment today." Akira animatedly told her father, making her eyes as big as saucers. Sapphire then slipped from his thighs discreetly and Carlos lifted Akira to his lap before kissing her cheek.

The next morning Sapph was back at work. She was very prideful of her husband's achievement. She got one of her favorite photos framed from yesterday's interview and put it on her office table.

Her colleague and also her senior Mr Pascal walked to her table to give a file regarding a modeling assignment the company was about to take over. His eyes accidentally fell on the photo she placed on the table.

"I have seen this man somewhere." He pointed to Carlos's picture with his eyes in thought.

Sapphire had a full blown smile on her brims. "You would have obviously seen him in newspapers and tablets. He is Carlos Walkhart, my husband and CEO of Pfizer group of companies." She announced proudly.

The knots between Pascal's eyebrows intensify as he circles his wrist trying to recollect the memory and minutes later he stares back at her in complete discernment.

The smile on Sapphire's features gradually die down as she notes the features on his face were not so welcoming and the next words he spoke deracinated the soil from under her feet.

"I saw this man ten days ago in Miami beach when I went on a holiday with my family and the woman in bikini beside him was not you." He declared to her without speculating, putting his hands inside his pant pockets in a dare to counter him.
