Agata’s P.O.V

“Where are you going so late at night?” I turned my head around and saw Darren standing there in his usual butler attire.

“I’m staying over at a friend’s house tonight.” I replied nervously, trying my best to not show any signs that would rouse his suspicion.

Just as I thought I would finally leave in peace, the worst man to have discovered me appeared. Darren had always felt like a ghost you never really knew when he was coming.

But I was more afraid that he would stop me or report my escape to Edward.

“Is that so? Then allow me to drive you over there, madame. You are pregnant, it’s not safe for you to be out at this hour by yourself.” He offered. I shook my head.

“No, there’s no need for that, my friend will pick me up soon.” I told him firmly. Darren kept on staring  at me for some time and then moved his gaze to my suitcase.

“That is a huge suitcase for two night’s stay, madame. What are you carrying in there?” He asked.

“I have a lot of beauty products inside. That’s why.” I reasoned. Gosh, how I wished he would stop interrogating me.

The more questions he was asking, the more likely I was going to get caught and I could not afford to get caught.

Darren was about to say something else when the sound of a car’s honking was heard in front of the house. Thank goodness.

“That’s my ride, I am leaving.” I opened the door and walked out of the gate, however, I could feel Darren following me from behind.

My best friend, Sienna and the only person who knew about my plan, lowered her window and put on a performance.

“Get in, Agata!” She spoke excitedly with a huge smile on her face, pretending to be excited about our girl’s night.

“A moment, I need to put my suitcase in the trunk.” I told her before opening the door. Darren suddenly walked closer to me.

“Let me help you put the suitcase in the trunk.” He told me as he pulled up my suitcase from the ground and placed it in the car. I looked at him with mild suspicion before thanking him and getting in the car.

Once we were in the car, I immediately put on the seat belt and Sienna’s car left the area.

“My god, that was nerve wrecking.” I murmured underneath my breath as I watched Darren’s reflection form the rear mirror. He was staring at my car with an unpredictable look on his face.

Something was not right, I could feel it.

“Thank you for giving me the ride, Sienna, you are the only person I can trust right now. I really don’t know what I would have done without you” I told her as soon as things settled down a little bit in the car.

Sienna stopped a car on the side for a moment and turned to look at me.

“My poor Agata, I am so sorry those things happened to do.” She hugged me and I hugged her back.

Sienna gently rubbed my back in pity and suddenly I felt like I was in university again, crying in my best friend’s arm over my first heartbreak at the time.

Sienna and I had known each other since university.

We had different personalities, I was the more introverted, analytical nerdy kid and she was the bright and cheerful girl that people loved hanging out with.

We were put together in a project one time and realized after talking to each other that we had more things in common with each other than we realized and had been very close since.

Out of everyone in this world, she’s the only one that had my back and the only person I could trust with this life and death situation.

“I would have never guessed someone like Edward could do something like this. It’s just, you guys were so in love with one another.”

“He’s faking it all, Sienna. All the romantic gestures, proposal, wedding, it was all a lie. That man never loved me, he’s just using me to get an heir since his first love is barren.”

Before she could reply, I suddenly noticed something. I immediately removed my seat belt and walked to the back of the car.

“Agata, where are you going?” She asked me.

“Sienna, can you help me open the trunk?” I asked her.

“Well, yes, but why?” She asked me.

“Please, just do it first.” Sienna did not ask any further question. She went to the back of the trunk and opened it.

“What’s wrong?” She asked with slight panic in her voice. I grabbed the suitcase and inspected it carefully.

There it was, the object I was looking for. I saw a small GPS tracking device attached to the top of my suitcase. I grabbed it and held it in my hand.

“GPS tracker, Darren must have stick it in there when he was placing my suitcase earlier.” I explained.

“That is insane, why would he do that?”

“He’s suspicious of me. Darren was a former military man, his senses are sharp like a wolf.” I place the GPS tracker on the floor and quickly stepped on it. Once it was broken, I rushed back inside the car.

“Let’s go, we need to go before they realize I am running away.”

We have both moved on in life!” I tried to reason. He took a step forward and looked at me with a deep, almost possessive gaze.“You might have moved on, Agata. That’s why he didn’t recognized me.“Why don’t you wait a moment here and I’ll call him.” The security guard stated before grabbing the phone and called Edward.A few moments later, his facial expression changed and he nodded his head.“I understand.” Once the call wa

Her fingers roamed through the pages of a wedding venue magazine.I sat next to her, feeling a certain void in my chest as I saw those wedding images.“Which one do you think looks better, this sky hall or the outdoor garden?” She asked me as she shoved the magazine next to me. I hesitantly turned my gaze on her and then to the magazine.“The sky hall looks better.” I replied briefly. Veronica must have picked up how unenthusiastic I was and a frown appeared on her face.“Edward! Why do you seem so disinterested? We’re planning our dream wedding! You should be more enthusiastic!” She slammed the book on the table.“I’m sorry, Veronica, it’s just, I have a lot on my mind right now.” I told her.“What? Is it a

It was not Edward nor any of his man.It was a complete stranger. A man who looked like he was in his late twenties, blonde hair, blue eyes and a pale skin that looked almost translucent. After realizing he was not related to Edward whatsoever, I gasped in embarrassment.“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, I thought you were someone else.” I apologized and he gently released my hand.“It’s fine, it’s not the first time I almost got hit by a woman.” He joked before reaching out his hand.“I’m William, I’m Belinda’s son who lives at the end of the floor, near the elevator over there.” He explained.“Oh, you’re her son. I’m Agata, the new tenant here.” I shook his hand, still feeling slightly guilty over what happened.“Yes, I know. My mom called me earlier and asked me to check in on you. She said there’s a pregn

I ended up grabbing one of the beside lamp and threw it to the ground.“She can’t leave me! She can’t take the baby away from me! I will not allow her to divorce me! I quickly ran out from the bedroom and headed to the living room where Darren was already waiting.“Sir, you look pale.” He murmured with concern.“Darren, drive me to her friend’s house.
