Agata’s P.O.V

“Agata, are you okay?” Edward asked as he laid on the bed next to me. I hid all the pain and hysteria within me and put on a fake smile.

“Yes, I’m fine, why?” I asked him, trying my best to cover the hatred I was feeling for him.

“Nothing, it’s just, your eyes look a bit swollen, as if you had just cried.” He responded as he reached out his hand to touch my eyes.

I immediately backed away from him and flinched in disgust. Realizing what I had just done, a frown appeared on his face.

“Is something wrong? Why are you leaning away from me?” Edward asked with a look of concern on his face.

If I had not found out the truth earlier, I would think he was genuinely concerned for me.

However, now I realized he was just acting. He needed to be nice and gentle to me until the birth of our son.

After that, he was planning to discard me like trash.

“No, I’m just feeling a bit sick. I’m sure I’ll be fine again tomorrow.” I reassured him. Edward was a clever man, I was not sure he would fall for it. He continued observing my face for a few seconds before sighing.

“Fine, but I am asking the nanny to brew you some pregnancy tonic tomorrow. You need to be healthy, you’re carrying our baby, after all.” He reminded me.

From an outsider’s perspective, he was a concerned husband and father, but to me, he was just worried about his son, he never cared for me at all.

I forced myself to smile and nodded.

“I understand, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of our son.” I replied. He smiled and leaned in to kiss me. I had to pretend everything was fine and accepted his kiss.

It felt disgusting, especially when I remembered he used the same lips to kiss Veronica earlier. But I needed to keep up the act, at least until I was out of the house.

You might wonder why I had to pretend that everything was fine. The reason’s simple. I was powerless.

Edward was a billionaire and I was a nobody who could only rely on him for money and power. If I casually declared I wanted to divorce him and fought him at the court, I would surely lose.

Who knew what he would do if he realized I knew everything. He might turn cold and kept me here as a prisoner.

So, while he was still willing to act and put on the “good husband” façade, I would also pretend to know nothing.

Until I find the perfect time and situation to escape this hell.

The next morning, while me and Edward were having breakfast, he was constantly glancing at his phone and continued texting someone.

“You have never used your phone during meal time before, is there anything important?” I asked him.

He put down his phone with the screen facing down and looked at me.

“Today, I have an important business flight, I might not be home for a couple of days.” I raised my brow.

“Oh, really? Who are you going with?” I asked him.

“Just my assistant, you know him.” He replied casually as he took a bit of his omelette.

I knew right away he was lying. In the past I would have trusted his words blindly with no discernment, but the naïve Agata died last night.

I knew he was going a trip with Veronica.

This bastard, even until now he was still lying to me.

“Okay, then have a safe trip.” I replied to him.

“I will and I’ll also get you some gifts from there.” He added before standing up and walking over to me. Edward kissed my forehead like he always did before leaving from work, holding back my disgust.

I watched as his figure disappeared from the door and clenched my fist.

“Both of us are leaving today, Edward. The difference is, you’d never see me again.” I murmured underneath my breath.

Once Edward has left for his ‘business trip’, I went to our bedroom and started packing my belongings. I made sure to pack all the important documents with me and left behind the credit cards he had given me, only carrying a debit and credit card that Edward had no access to.

I also went to the store briefly and bought a new phone and number and redirected all the banking information I had to the new number and deleted all my social media accounts without informing anyone else. I made sure he would have no way of tracking me in the future.

I made sure to do everything discreetly so that no one would find out I was planning this escape and informing Edward. This house had several staffs. Most of them were not nosy, but there was one I had to watch out for.

Darren Martin. He was the household’s butler with some military background. This man was sharp. He was definitely sharper than Edward in many cases.

He did not ask any questions when I was heading to the store because I normally went out during the day anyway, but bumping into him on my way out with a suitcase in my hand would be problematic.

So, I planned to wait until midnight, when the house was quieter and most of the staffs have left the residence. The less eyes watching me move, the better.

I looked at my phone, it was almost midnight. Before I left, I sat down on the vanity table in my room and ripped a paper from my notebook and started writing a note.

“Dear Edward,

I know about your affair with Veronica.

And I know you have never loved me.

You’re just using me to produce an heir.

But I am not your cattle. I will not let myself be used.

So, I am leaving and you will never see me again.

At one point, I truly loved you.

But now, I am divorcing you and taking our son with me.

Goodbye Edward,

Agata Rochelle Wellington.”

It was a simple and straight forward letter, yet my tears still ran down on my cheek and dropped onto the paper.

I knew I shouldn’t be so emotional, but it was not an easy decision to leave a man who I thought I would build a whole future with.

But I needed to be strong, I needed to be strong for my son.

I folded the paper and insert it to a brown envelope and sealed it. I wrote ‘for Edward’ on the front cover and placed it on top of our bed.

Before I left the room, I took one last glance to the bedroom we once shared together. The illusion ended that night. I would never return there again.

I dragged my suitcase across the living room and right before I was able to touch the front door, a man’s voice appeared from behind me.

“Where are you going so late at night?”

That’s why he didn’t recognized me.“Why don’t you wait a moment here and I’ll call him.” The security guard stated before grabbing the phone and called Edward.A few moments later, his facial expression changed and he nodded his head.“I understand.” Once the call wa

Her fingers roamed through the pages of a wedding venue magazine.I sat next to her, feeling a certain void in my chest as I saw those wedding images.“Which one do you think looks better, this sky hall or the outdoor garden?” She asked me as she shoved the magazine next to me. I hesitantly turned my gaze on her and then to the magazine.“The sky hall looks better.” I replied briefly. Veronica must have picked up how unenthusiastic I was and a frown appeared on her face.“Edward! Why do you seem so disinterested? We’re planning our dream wedding! You should be more enthusiastic!” She slammed the book on the table.“I’m sorry, Veronica, it’s just, I have a lot on my mind right now.” I told her.“What? Is it a

Do you really think I wouldn’t come on your special event?” He asked me with a teasing smile.“Gosh, and here I thought you were the honest type.” I teased him back.“Elias is waiting for you backstage.”Both of us were heading backstage and when the door opened, a cheery voice was heard.“Mama!” His little figure excitedly ran toward me. Agata’s P.O.V“Leave me alone!” I was about to swing the pan when a strong arm grabbed my hand.“Wow, calm down, lady!” an unfamiliar man voice was heard and I snapped back to my senses. It was not Edward nor any of his man.It was a complete stranger. A man who looked like he was in his late twenties, blonde hair, blue eyes and a pale skin that looked almost translucent. After realizing he was not related to Edward whatsoever, I gasped in embarrassment.“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, I thought you were someone else.” I apologized and he gently released my hand.“It’s fine, it’s not the first time I almost got hit by a woman.” He joked before reaching out his hand.“I’m William, I’m Belinda’s son who lives at the end of the floor, near the elevator over there.” He explained.“Oh, you’re her son. I’m Agata, the new tenant here.” I shook his hand, still feeling slightly guilty over what happened.“Yes, I know. My mom called me earlier and asked me to check in on you. She said there’s a pregn

I ended up grabbing one of the beside lamp and threw it to the ground.“She can’t leave me! She can’t take the baby away from me! I will not allow her to divorce me! Never” I yelled.I saw the bedside lamp shattering on the ground and my breath was growing heavy. I quickly ran out from the bedroom and headed to the living room where Darren was already waiting.“Sir, you look pale.” He murmured with concern.“Darren, drive me to her friend’s house. Edward’s P.O.V“Gosh, you are so hot, Edward.” Veronica was sitting on top of me and caressed her hand on my bare chest.“Not as hot as you, my love.” I replied to her before we locked in for a passionate kiss. Her lips was so sweet, just as I remembered it.“I miss you so much, Veronica. Finally, it’s just the two of us, like the good old days.” Instead of replying, Veronica suddenly bit me on the chest. I let out a small pained groan and asked her what it was for.“I need to get rid of all traces of that woman from you.” She replied possessively.“How many times have you f*cked her with this body?” She asked again before biting me on the neck. I let out the same pained groan, but this time, I grabbed her face carefully and made her look at me before smirking teasingly.“You’re even sexier when you are jealous like this. Don’t worry about anyone else, I am entirely yours tonight.” I reminded her before kissing her again. Our kiss grew more passionate. I grabbed her hand and pinned he
