Chapter 4. Bloody wolf battle

Roxanne's Point of View

Forget about being safe in the presence of a woman. She, herself, has the most murderous gaze my body could sense upon my eyes found hers. Which I can't seem to match so I averted my gaze that was fast to go in the direction of another growl. When I had my glance, I immediately recognized that it was the wolf that was carrying me. I was about to cast my sight away when suddenly, its inside spoke while its mouth was firmly closed.

'Atizyes, go get her.'

I didn't even need to move my eyes to look at whom the voice ordered because upon finishing, the man beside him before was already looking down so close to me.

As I regained my voice, I tried to open my mouth. "P-easeeee, don't d-do thisss!" I pleaded.

But even my own ears could tell that it came again as a whisper. I don't even know where to touch on my body anymore, as I don't know where to help. My spinning head, my crying salty eyes, my airless throat, my, my locking chest, my smacking heart, and everything!

'Please God of everything! Spare this little one's life! I want to die but not to be prey! Please!'

I started raising and smashing my hands in the air to restrain him from coming but my attempts didn't last long as my hands gave up.

"Do you not see that you are alone? We could all slaughter you, but we will not until the king judges your life. Now, if you wish to lessen those wounds of yours, be a good woman and follow us obediently. " The man in front of me coldly stated with an accent I couldn't figure out.

I don't understand, what king is he talking about? Who? Is there still a country where a king could just order someone to die even without sufficient evidence? And if there is, I am not a criminal. I am just perhaps a trespasser if that's it, but I do anything murderous.

'I wish I could tell him everything. But given my state, they wouldn't even care about listening.'

Using my peripheral vision, I try to analyze the surroundings with my head still low. I wasn't even able to realize that it was still day because of my blurry eyesight before. Yet the desert became more green. I gulped, thinking how much my dream has taken me. I know this is a dream, a dream that doesn't want me to wake up. A dream that silently ends my life.  A dream tha-

"Hey! Come here will you!" The man again shouted with clear irritation but I wasn't able to respond as he quickly grabbed my hand and started dragging me.

"P-please sir, A- a- I can't walk." I tried to inform him.

But as low as it is, he didn't bother listening. Without a second, I am again placed on the back of a wolf. My body used all its remaining energy to tremble and flee yet without any wasted words and minutes, I am already moving. My hands were encircling the wolf's body as it was tied below with a rope that I didn't even know where they got it from for a short period of time, while my feet stayed falling, touching some long grasses. I could still feel some little hotness which means my sandals are still with me. As I calmed myself, the vague murmurings and growls started moving away. While the breeze that fights with us becomes colder and stronger. Without my knowledge, the world again went into pure silence and darkness.

' Blessed is he who sees the moon,

Rather than the sun who kills a goon.

Our blood and pain ye share with you,

And gives us life forever new.'

"Hmm, a dream? What was that supposed to-"

"GRRRRRR!"

"GRRRRRR!"

"GRRRRRR!"

A series of riotous growls again woke up my senses fully. When I roamed my eyes, all I could see was a mixture of a burning bloodshot sky and dark clouds with the luminous bloody moon as its heart.

' HAS there ever been such a sky on earth? Am I already in hell? Is that why it is full of aggressive growls everywhere like they are all fighting?'

I blinked and tried to vanish the sight in front of me but it didn't go back to blue. When I dismissed such an attempt in my head, I tried to feel my body parts once more.

'If I am in hell, why is it so cold?'

I gathered control of my hands and started supporting my body to stand up but a sudden popping out of an orange-black wolf completely drained my energy. Especially because its mouth is looking down on me!

' Brothers! The woman is awake!'

'OH. MY. GOD! Did the wolf just really talk?! Is this the real hell?!'

As my insides cry in utter torture of this place, another wolf, lighter than the former's color, appeared up my forehead. My veins lose all their energy as another two popped out before my feet.

' And all of them are conversing! With pathetically CLOSED mouths! '

Then all of a sudden, a very thunderous growl snapped all their eyes. Even the growls everywhere stopped. With my heightened curiosity and fear, I was able to turn my back and saw a very large leaf, larger than me, where I was lying. I didn't give much attention as I continued sitting until I was able to see what was going on. And if I could just bring back time, I would just choose to stay laid into the bigger leaf than me while watching as the wolves talk in front of me with closed mouths rather than sitting up.

'Because what on hell am I seeing?! Thousands of dead, or perhaps they are just sleeping, wolves? Sleeping everywhere with blood showering their body? While the other wolves, also painted with blood, cried and whimpered in front of them? Then another batch of wolves at the further side facing us growl in utter loudness as if they are in victory.

I am not in a good condition but I can discern whether I am dreaming or not, and this is a dream! This is a real hell!'
