CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR: I FEEL DIFFERENT

Kayla’s POV

I sighed and hesitantly took a step towards Zane. 

“I will tell you everything. But not here,” I said.

He looked at the corpses around us and nodded in agreement.

“As much as I don’t mind seeing dead bodies, I don’t think this is a place fit to have a heart to heart either.”

“Let’s go,” I said.

Then, because I couldn’t resist it, I took a twig from the floor and dipped it in the blood of one of the rogues before drawing my symbol on a tree. Then I turned to Zane, who was watching me with raised brows.

“I don’t know when I started leaving the symbol of justice after the kills. But now, it feels weird without doing it,” I said sheepishly. Then I realised how lame that sounded. As if leaving no symbol near my prey was anymore weirder than killing rogues and fixing a symbol for myself.
